Morning peeps thank you for all your lovely comments about my new DT position but its back to work this morning only three weeks to go and then I get a few days off to rest and play with my crafting goodies that Santa is going to bring me.......well he'd better cos I've been oh so good this year......lol. as if. We went to Olney yesterady but I was feeling rather rough as I'm coming down with a cold so I was shivery and achey, I hate colds, so we didn't stay long as it was really busy there and this morning I'm feeling no better my glands are well up and I have a dreadful sore throat......oh well no time to feel sorry for myself.
Today sketch at Sketch n Stash is by our fabbie teamie Chrissie.

The winner will win $15 to spend in their store.

For my card I used pink and gold as the colour combo, the papers are from Papermania, I have to admit I can't remember the name of the stamp manufacturer. For the flower I glimmer misted some card in various shades of pink and then gold embossed the flower a couple of times cutting out the petals and layering some of them for added dimension. I then aded some beads for the centre.

Sugar Creek Hollow......

Ohhhh I'm hoping that I've done this right as its the first time I've scheduled a post and the reason why .........I've been asked to join the team at Sugar Creek Hollow......yay I'm thrilled to bits but a smidge nervous but at least now I have the perfect excuse to make more vintage style cards which I love doing.

Welcome to Sensational Saturday at Sugar Creek Hollow and a new challenge. Before I get to the challenge, let me tell you about some changes to the Sugar Creek Hollow Design Team.

First, we are losing a couple of our wonderful designers because of family commitments. Marsha has been with Sugar Creek Hollow since the very beginning and her wonderful vintage designs will be missed. While Heide hasn't been with us as long, she has inspired us all each week with some gorgeous designs. Renee is going to stay with the team but will be scaling back her participation. Starting in the New Year she will become our Feature Artist and will show us all how Recycling and Repurposing are done the vintage way when those challenges come up. These ladies have made valuable contributions to the Sugar Creek Hollow team and have become lovely online crafting friends.

Next, we have three new designers coming on board and they are joining us with their vintage beauties for the challenge this week so you can get a preview of what they will be showing you starting in January.

Give a big welcome to:

Linda Payne from Payne Holler Cards

Peggy Marsh from The Wired Angel

Daniele Haddon from The Musings of a Chocoholic

Now on to our challenge. With Christmas close at hand, our challenge to you this week is to make CHRISTMAS CARDS IN NON-TRADITIONAL COLORS. Don't forget that we are a vintage, shabby chic or primitive challenge and want you to create in those styles.

We have a lovely new sponsor this week. Please welcome Delicious Doodles who will be providing one random winner with 4 digis of her choice. The random winner will also receive a Sugar Creek Hollow winner's badge to display. The Design Team will also choose a Card of the Week and the creator will also receive a badge to display and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Don’t forget, we also have Christmas Blog Candy for one lucky winner to be chosen from our challenge entries between now and Christmas Eve.

To inspire you all of our current and our new designers have created some fabulous Christmas cards in non-traditional colors using a couple of the images from Delicious Doodles.

For my card I chose the image Crofters Cottage, I used blues and lots of sparkle to add to the lovely image. The background paper is a lovely sparkly embossed vellum paper from Papermania, I made the frame over the image by embossing with a dots folder and then swiped frayed burlap over the raised dots then I added glamour dust to the tops of the dots. The tree die is by Marianne designs which I distressed and then embossed with Aurora Cosmic Shimmer powder. For the snow I've used a Wow distressing powder which gives a puffed up effect with sparkle in......just loving this.

Sketch n Stash........

Ohhhh its Monday and back to work after my couple of days off, we had a lovely day in York on Saturday, we walked until our feet ached, the train museum is well worth a visit for young and old alike, its lovely to see Historical trains like the Mallard and the Golden Arrow up close, there is even Queen Victorias carriage complete with bathroom. I didn't realise how big these trains were, the wheels stand taller that I am and we were expecting to see just a couple of trains not loads of them. i managed to get most of the rest of my Christmas shopping done......feeling very organised this year. On Sunday we went to Warley train show at the NEC and we took Ethan with us, he thoroughly enjoyed himself and even had a play on a Steam train, pulling all the levers he loved looking at all the layouts and didn't want to leave but we were shattered....lol
Todays card is for Sketch N Stash and this weeks fabbie sketch is by our teamie  Kevin, loving this sketch. I've gone over board with gems and glitter for this one......lol

Morning, another glorious day yesterday, we went to Olney to visit LB Crafts and Lin let me buy some of her plastic 12x12 stacking paper trays for £1 each which I've been after for quite a while so I was well over the moon..... thanks Lin, her shop closes the week before Christmas but she will still be teaching......yay. I did end up spending a smidge more as well on stamps which my hubby and daughter are buying me for Christmas, I still want them wrapped up though........lol.On the way back we stopped of at a craft centre just outside the village of Weedon on the A5 and my Mum fell in love with a tree which was about 8' high now considering I had filled the boot of the car with 20 shelves we still managed to get the tree in which I brought her for Christmas but the car was rather full with us all in and a tree.......lol.
Today see the start of another challenge at Polkadoodles this week the theme is a shaped Christmas card, I made a stepper card with papers from the Magical winter Cd, I love the papers on this Cd. I've cut some of the trees out and then mounted them on top of each other for dimension.

Winter Wonderland.......

Morning peeps the challenge at Crafty Individuals this month is Winter Wonderland and I had a couple of hours yesterday afternoon after Ethan had gone home so I had a play in my craft  room  and then being as the football was on the telly last night I managed to finish this hanging.Instead of making a Christmas card for my sister and brother-in -law I make them an ornament for their tree, so this is for them. I think there is more glitter on this than I have ever used before......lol.
I started off by re-cycling an old Cd using Viva Ferro to get the texture, marking out the mini shadow box before applying the paste. If you heat dry Ferro you get lots of little bubbles which makes a great texture, I then used Viva precious metal paint to highlight. The box was painted using Viva crackle paint and again highlighted with precious metal paint, the images in the box are all from Crafty Individuals Christmas book as is the stamp of Santa on his sleigh. The tree is a Marianne die which I distressed with broken China and then heat embossed with Aurora embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer the snowflakes were done in the same way and then lashing of stickles added to everything......told you I like glitter.....lol.

Talking of which I finished this card yesterday featuring Toby Tumble.......so sweet but it did take a while to colour, I wanted to get the snow to look realistic so after finishing the colouring with Prisma pencils, I added glamour dust and then painted with white acrylic paint over it building uo the layers in places for depth and texture. Blue bird......

Evening peeps hope you're well and haven't had too much rain today, its been mild here so we went out on a Garden Centre crawl,.......bit like a pub crawl but with coffee and cakes instead of beer. I couldn't help resisting to buy Ethan a wooden whistle the kind that you pull the end out and it varies the whistle, hes taken to sticking 2 fingers in his mouth and then shrieking as if hes whistling......I've never been able to whistle like that myself, there must be a knack to it but hes obviously seen someone whistle like that and thinks he can do it as well.......now hes got a proper whistle so he can make a lot of noise, I did appologise to my daughter.......tee hee!!! I'm such a naughty Nana. Right I want you all to practice whistling now................
Todays card is from the new release at Cuddly Buddly from Karen Middleton called Star Birdie, the papers are also by Karen Middleton called Enchanted Wishes. Vintage Christmas......

Morning peeps hope you are all well, I'm up bright and early waiting for my Grandson so won't get the chance to blog later because I will be too busy playing trains and horsey around the house......my poor back again!!
I've made a vintage Christmas card that I thought I'd show today as it seems ages since I've done anything remotely distressed or grungy. The stamps I've used are from Viva, lots of lovely Vintage Christmas designs and at only around £5.99 a sheet they are brilliant value and they stamp well, I ussually prefer rubber for a better image. I've spritzed all the images with lashings of Heirloom gold perfect pearl mists which doesn't show that well on the photo. The papers are a gorgeous Christmas book that I picked up in a sale last year in fact I brought two of them as the papers are divine and I didn't want to use them because I can't get any more......sad I know!! the paper pad is called Joyful Peace by Tina Higgins from g.c.d studios. I added vintage glass glitter by Melissa Frances to the edges of the Poinsettia die by Marianne designs and then added the button with the the threaded ribbon through on top. the sentiment is the freebie stamp on the cover of this months Craft Stamper Magazine designed by the Stampman......it dropped through the door at the right moment.

Evening peeps just got back form the NEC with my daughter, I really look forward to our girlie day out, I did have to deposit her on a seat for awhile as she wasn't feeling too well, cup of tea with 5 sugars  in later and she was feeling better so I guess her sugar level was low due to lack of food......I did stick to my list but got side tracked only a smidge in fact my daugter kept asking when I was going to start spending......lol, I must have been feeling ill as well, I did buy quite a few dies as there were quite a few bargains to be had and it would have been rude not to buy two or three of them. I did manage to catch up with Nickki from Polkadoodles, her stand looked lovely, loads of samples and goodies, when I went back in the afternoon she was still swamped so I'll have to catch up with her another time. The card that I've made features one of the new images from the CD Pretty Tuff, the papers are also from the same CD which was launched at the NEC this weekend and will be available to order online tomorrow.I used my prismas to colour the image.

Anyway todays card is similar  to last weeks card in as much that I've used the same sweet image from Wee Stamps called Silver Fairy. I've gone for similar colours again, I tend to use the same colours for a time before I move onto the next ones, I'm like that with food I'll have the same sandwich for dinner for weeks until I get fed up with it......I guess I'm just weird.!!!! don't all agree at once please.
The papers are from the Polkadoodle Cd Magical winter part 1, I lurvvvvve these grey lilac colours and are perfect for any occassion.
