Ooh La La......

Bonjour peeps another gorgeous day here, although we have had a bit of a disaster here. We had an air conditioning unit fit in the conservatory which opens up as part of my lounge, yesterday we discovered that the person who fitted has drilled through a water pipe and it's been slowly leaking under the laminate flooring.......as you can imagine I'm not feeling cool today as it looks like my floor is ruined and I'm still waiting for the guy to come out and fix it.
Tomorrow is my little sisters 50th birthday so I have made this card for her, the challenge at Ooh La La creations this fortnight is......make it scenic. I have used the Passion for Fashion Cd and the image and papers are called Spring walk, this is one of 37 design folders and is a steal at just £6.99 with free P&P.

The doily I created by stamping a doily stamp from Stampin' Up onto vellum with Vintage amethyst Wow embossing powder and then cutting round the edge, because its semi transparent you get to see the background papers through it.

Sketch n Stash......

Thank you for the best wishes that you have left, its a week since I had my op and I'm feeling much better, the bruising is going, but my tummy is still swollen, my Mum says I look 6 months pregnant......For the first time I spent the day sitting in the garden reading as well as doing some dead heading of the roses, hope the weather stays good for the rest of the week as I shall take my pencils outside and sit and colour.
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sketch n Stash, this fortnight we are being sponsored by

I have coloured in my image from A Day with Daisies with Prismas, and the embossed around the edges with white and gold Frantage. The papers are from Lost and Found and are called Sunshine, which is appropriate for this summer. The flowers are made from a Fiskars punch and the the leaves are a die that I picked up in Orlando for just $4.50 which is about £2.99, think this will be my favourite die for leaves and swirls

Have a great week

Sugar Creek Hollow.....

Afternoon to you all, I'm at home recuperating after my op so at least I have no excuses for not having the time to craft now although a the moment I'm struggling to get my mojo started, today's card is for the new challenge starting at Sugar Creek Hollow and the theme this fortnight is ......Summer Sunshine, at least we have had a lovely sunny July, although I have yet found the time to sit outside and being as it's forecast rain today I shall be crafting and napping today I think.
The papers for this card are called Sunshine from MME and I have them awhile so I'm not sure if they are still available, the stamp I have used is a new one from Crafty Individuals CI 415, Beyond the picket fence. I have coloured in the image with distress watercolour pens.....don't faint I know I always use Prismas but after buying the set in Orlando on my holls. I thought I'd better use them, think I need lots of practice though.
The flowers at the bottom are from another stamp set CI 206 flower Heads, I use this one quite alot for adding flowers to a project as its very versatile I also added crushed glass glitter to the centres. The sentiment banner is CI 407 Words and pictures.

Thanks for taking a peek

Dangerous Dinosaurs......

Thought I would show you a card that I have made with the Dangerous Dinosaurs Mini CD which costs just £5 over at Kraftyhands, this is great for all those little guy cards. On the Cd there are backing papers, decoupage card sets as well as mini decoupage card sets. There are even  digital images that you can print h off to colour in. My card I made from the mini card set and some of the backing papers.

Have a great week

Crafty Individuals.....

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, I had my operation on Monday and came back home yesterday, I even missed my dinner at the hospital, you sure are in quick and out quick these days. Just got to wait for every thing to settle down now, so what better than a bit of crafting to while away the time and take my mind of the pain. Crafty Individuals have just brought out some new stamps, a couple of the comtemporary ones have been designed by Gio, so I haven't got any excuse for not having a play now.

Twenty Four Seven......

Morning to you all, I've finished another Lay out with piccies of my Grandsons sports day, I couldn't leave out Ethans brother, Zachary wanted to get in on the act so he kicked the space hoppers around, he thought it was great fun.I have used the same papers from Simple Stories Twenty Four Seven collection. I have been having a play joining in on the cyber classes that A Trip down memory Lane have been running over the last weekend. This Lo is for a challenge that they are running, called Seven Sisters, you have to use 7 of something, mine is papers.

Have a great weekend

Sports Day......

I got to go to Ethans end of year sports day last week, I can't believe how fast that year went, its lovely seeing all the children participate in their various races, involving bean bags, bats and space hoppers....well they were called that in my day. Ethan got off to a flying start with those long legs of his, but we laughed as his ingenuity when they had a relay race where they had to balance a bean bag on their heads and run/walk without dropping it, my Grandson took his cap off put the bean bag on his head then put his cap back on and tore up the field.......as you can guess that wasn't in the rules. when it came to the Dads race of course his Dad had to have a go with a little prompting from moi. This scrap layout features some of the piccies of the day, I have used Simple Stories papers and embellishments called Twenty four Seven.

I have spritzed the background with Dylusion sprays and then stamped using
a honeycomb stamp from Creative Expressions to the background paper. The pin wheels I made from a hexagon shape and added a brad to the centres.

love the photo where Ethan is giving his Dad a pep talk before the Dads race.

the photo is hidden behind the main panel of photos with just the journalling on show as I wanted to add the piccie of him on his space hopper.

My op got cancelled today so hopefully it will go ahead on Monday now, it was a real pain having to go and get my blood tests done again though, on the plus side it gives me a bit longer to get all the jobs finished i.e weeding the garden, washing, ironing all those Mum sort of jobs that we all do, along with going to work, looking after the Grand kids etc.
hugs n smiles to you all

Ooh La La creations....

Bonjour everyone, welcome to my second post of the day, this card is for the new challenge at Ooh La La Creations, the theme this fortnight is........Vintage. I so lurvvvve doing vintage cards, this is one is a request by a customer for her daughter. I'm always nervous about making cards for people in case it isn't what they really wanted but are too polite to say so, I usually make a couple for them to choose from. I have used the Yesterdays Memories Cd. The flowers have been sprtized with Tuscan Sun glimmer mist. I added a doily under the image

Have a great week

Sketch n Stash......

Morning fellow crafty friends, hope you have had a great weekend and didn't get too wet. We had torrential  rain here on Saturday, never seen it come down so fast and flood everywhere so quickly, I even had it come through the front of the shop under the wall whilst further up the road people were up to their knees for a short while.
This is the first of two posts today, back in the swing of things after my holls but on Thursday I am due to have my op to remove my gall bladder, just hope I feel well enough to do some crafting after a few days of recuperating.
This is a reminder that there is still 2 weeks to join us at Sketch n Stash and for this challenge we are letting you choose your favourite sketch, all we ask is that you post which one you have used.
We have two sponsors for this challenge

Prize $10

Prize £10

This is the sketch that I have used to make my card using a Parrot image By Barbara Jenson from Stitch Bears, click here to view the image.

I have coloured the image in with Prismas and then added glitter to part
of the image, the papers are from First Edition.

Sugar Creek Hollow......

Afternoon peeps, hope you are having a great weekend, today sees the start of a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow and the theme this fortnight is......On the road, so we would love to see all your vintage/shabby chic projects.
For my card I have used a couple of stamps from Crafty Individuals, the map is from Marianne Designs. I folded it up and distressed the edges for a more vintage look. The car tag has been coloured in with Prismas and the background for the 3 Gentlemen stamp had a spritz of water over a background using Tattered Rose, Pumice Stone and Milled Lavender. The quote is from a Kaisercraft stamp set.

Scrapbook challenge.......

Morning crafty friends, not sure if yesterday was the heatwave, because we had a thunderstorm during the night which they said would be Saturday. In fact its just starting to rain again so I guess that was it. On Thursday I'm in hospital having an op to remove my gall bladder and stones, not looking forward to it but I am feeling quite poorly now with it and I look 9 months pregnant because my stomach is swollen or I could be kidding myself and its all fat. Since I got back from my holls. I have done a couple of layouts, I want to do more scrapping so this is one of two that I have done this week and I'm entering my very first scrapbook challenge.......Scrapology.

The background paper is DCWV and the rest are Papermania from a capsule collection.
For my daughters wedding theme she chose stars and blue. Her dress was decorated with star sequins and caught the light lovely. The stamps that I used are from Friskars, I love adding polaroid apertures over the photos to highlight parts, the heart is embossed with a powder called Mermaid Tears by Piccola, I picked this up in America.......fell in love the name, it has an iridescent lilac/blue tinge to it. The stars are punched and die cut out and then layered as well as some having a sparkle glitter on them.

Crafty Haul....

Afternoon crafty friends, thught I would share with you some piccies of my craft haul whilst on my holls in Orlando Florida, I didn't manage to find any specialist shops as the one that I had listed had closed down, there are three craft stores which are like Hobby Craft that we have here, called Michaels, Jo-Anne and the Hobby Lobby, the last was by far the best, you can get discount vouchers on line for Jo-Annes and you only have to show them on your phone, which saves printing them out. I was disappointed with Michaels as they didn't stock that much really so I only brought one item from there but the other two stores resulted in a few bags.

Spent out after a day of craft shopping

I managed to get the distress pens for $70 which is approx £45, all of the other items had 40% discount off them so the the Friskar punch was approx £6.

all down by 30 or 40%, the Smash book was $5 which is about £3.50

These I picked up at the stamp show but still worked out at a good price $125, about a third cheaper than at home

I managed to find the pack of paper bags from the Hobby Lobby, these are perfect for mini albums, they only had them in Kraft though, these were $3.99, approx £2.60

The DCWV 12x12 pads were $9.99 which is about £7, one of them was only $6 approx £3.75
then you get another 15% off which a discount voucher.

When I revisited Jo-Annes at the holiday weekend they were selling  12x12 papers for
5 for a $1 which was 12p per sheet.

These stamps I picked up at the stamp show, the red rubber ones are Lost Coast Designs and were $6 each, approx £3.75 and then they had  show special of buy 5 get 1 free.

You can now see why I filled a small suitcase. My only disappointment was I couldn't find a specialist stockists as the larger stores didn't stock Graphic 45.
Mind you I have just got to make room in my craft room now as well as find the time to use
all of this yummy stash.
