Shabby Chic mini album......A Trip down memory lane

Morning peeps hope all is well and that the sun is finally shining after all the rain that some parts of the country got last week, hopefully we will get a few days of sun now as it hasn't been the best of summers so far. Last Sunday I went to a workshop with the the talented Tracy Payne, I have admired her shabby chic work for ages and finally got to go to her home and make this lovely mdf mini album, well I started it and finished it off last week. there is so much hidden detail in it and lots of Gesso that it took a lot longer than I thought it would.......I wanted to do an album featuring the life of my Mum so the front starts off with a photo of when she was a little girl.

Front cover includes stencilling and colour sprays

Heart is stamped onto acetate and stuck over stencilling with paste, which was then spritzed with a pink glimmer mist. The photo corners are frantage with a pale pink and white.

The frame is made from a mould

My Mum and Dad were professional Ballroom dancers,
unfortunately I never learnt to dance, much to my regret.

Frantage and metal embellishments on this page
as well as frantage photo corners again which are Doobadoo laser cut embellishments.

The photos on this page show my Mum as little girls with her Mum and Dad and Brother and Sister but the photo on the right show us all as children, I'm the tallest standing and my baby twin Brother and Sister are in the pram.

Patchwork or quilt.

Morning peeps hope you are all well and enjoying any sun that happens to be out, not the best of summers this year is it, oh well there is always September to go.......we sometimes get a good week then.
Today sees the start of the new monthly challenge at Kraftyhands, this one is quite sad as it's my last one for the guys, there have been a few changes and I have decided to step down so that I can concentrate on other things. The theme this month is quilts and patchwork and for my card I used the image and papers from the new Romantique Cd that you can pre order here, it will be available later on this month. The image I double embossed in clear to make it look even older.

Mini Album......

Don't know where the time is going to and its seems ages since I last blogged, I'm in the process of making another album at the moment.........getting addicted to making these in fact I don't know what I'm going to do with them all, I might have to have a craft stall sometime in the future to sell some of them. However I thought I would share with you an album I made using Kaisercaft papers called Telegraph Road .This is an album in a box, with lots of bling and vivid colours which is well out of my comfort zone.

Face Value.......

Afternoon fellow crafty bloggers, I,m enjoying a bit of sun catching up with the weeding after the holls, why do you get more than if you had stayed at home cos I've come back to loads and I want to be playing with some of my new stash that I brought in Florida. Talking of new have you checked out the new stamps from Crafty Individuals the sentiment one CI 438 is a must have because it covers every occasion and some. Check out the new products here.

Todays card is for the challenge at Crafty Individuals the theme is
                                                    ......Face Value.

I have used an image from The people and Places book 2 on offer at just £1.45, which I mounted in a paper frame covered with one of the pages from the new Seville book, I then added gold and white Frantage to edges of the frame and backed it with a narrow lace.

The background stamp is CI 435 and embossed with Cosmic Shimmer gold embossing powder, gorgeous shimmery effect and picks out the detail on the stamp a treat, I also used the same gold for the flowers, stamp CI 206 which I stamped onto another page from The Seville background book and the butterflies CI 437 were embossed onto a shimmer gold paper.

Don't forget that you need to use a product by Crafty Individuals to enter the challenge, then you can claim the 25% discount code to go shopping......yay!!

Wedding Lay out.....

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are enjoying these sunny days, had a lovely afternoon sat in the garden watching Zachary play yesterday, hadn't got the energy to join in with him as I have come down with a stinker of a chest cold......I'm going for a record for how many bugs I can catch in a year, I seem to have a week off before the next one appears, guess my immune system is running on over load.
I have had a play with all the new Crafty Individual stamps and paper pad that has just come out, the stamps are great for backgrounds, really nice and large...... check them out here. I wanted to do another wedding Lay out especially as it's my daughters and son in laws anniversary this Sunday.......guess whose got the kids !

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and Gesso for the main raised part of the background, the down size of that was it took an age to dry as it remained soft if I used a heat gun, afterwards I used purples and blues in glimmer mist drying in between each spritz.
I then used the backround stamps in archival hydrangea for the main areas and added some stamping in with Melon to add a smidge more yellow that are in the torn pieces from the new Seville background book from CI.

The butterflies are stamped on a page of the Seville book and then
I added glimmer and gemstones for bling.

Messy Day......

Had a lovely day yesterday at Daisy's Jewels Crafts, I went to a class to make this quirky panel using stencils and stamps from Lin Brown, it's ages since I did a class with her and her style has changed so much from the first classes I did at LB Crafts, I must say that this is so not me, I don't do bright colours but it was fun experimenting with them. We started off making a background using stamps and stencils, I got carried away as usual not knowing when to stop, so I ended up with an owl that looks like he is in a snow storm. I couldn't get the colour right of the background panel so I ended up re painting it again this morning, finally happy with the colour now.

Have a fun filled day
