Phew I'm back and well and truly pooped I could do with a couple of days off to recuperate....lol. Ethan had soooo much fun, not a big fan of some of the rides but he got to meet all of his favurite characters so he was more than happy. I'll post pics later on in the week when I've managed to catch up.
Today card is for Sketch n Stash, the sketch is by our fellow teamie.....Jill,
For my card I used some very old papers called tutti Frutti and as you can see they are very colourful, so my cake image was coloured with Promarkers to co-ordinate with the papers and a smidge of glitter was added, kept the card very simple with no extra added embellies.
Gotta dash and I'll catch up with you all later

Sugar Creek Hollow.....
Afternoon peeps had to write this post on Thursday before we left for Disneyland Paris so when you read it I might be on my favourite ride....thunder mountain, mind you we nearly didn't get there as my daughter phoned me late on Wednesday to say she couldn't find her passport and would't be be able to, so I went round to help with the search and she'd turned her house upside down looking for it and when she said upside down she wasn't joking.....it turned up in the end altough she said she'd looked there already twice. When we picked Ethan up from Nursery the ladies there asked us to plan an Itinary for them when we get back as we do Disney on a budget and they wanted to take their children and couldn't afford booking through the Disney website, so perhaps that will be a new vocation for me......lol.
The theme at Sugar Creek Hollow this week is to create something that inspired you. For my card I was inspired by another card which I recieved from my friend Annette. I love roses as does my Mum whose garden is full of them, she has alot of David Austen roses, so I decided to make a Mothers day card for her. The image is from The Graphics Fairy which I distressed with Tea Dye and added gold peel off borders to it. The doiley I spritzed with Gold and Vintage pink Glimmer mist. The background paper is from First Edition called Isabelle. The fab heart die is by Joy and I've used some more pleated ribbon that I got last week.....I should have brought more as I love it and don't fancy pleating my own, might have a go myself when I have a bored moment.

Bon Voyage.....
Evening peeps, firstly so sorry for not getting around many blogs this week, my silly computer has been playing up and running so slow that its has almost stopped, so after much huffing and puffing I decided to give up...... well until my Son could sort out the problem.....it was the router apparently.
My card for today is for a member of my staff who is leaving to go and work in Australia as a Nanny for 6 months hence .....Bon Voyage, I hadn't got an appropriate sentiment for that so I used another which I think is so apt anyway. The image is a Saturated Canary freebie which I fell in love with as soon as I saw it and is so like the girl that is leaving I thought it was just perfect for her, so I hope she likes it along with her pressie.
I coloured the image in with Promarkers and used Prismas for some highlights, just begining to get the hang of these markers. The papers are from First Edition.....Isabelle, the flower punches are X-Cut and the ribbon I picked up at the show on Sunday......just loving the pleats and rich brown colour.

Ooh La La.....
Bonjour et bienvenue...... I'm practicing for when I go to Disneyland this week.....lol as they all speak English and my French only gets me a bag of chips and a room for the night. Well its Monday again yesterday was a bit of a blur, I went to a local Papercraft show at Coventry to stock up on tape and if you believe that you'll believe anything. I did purchase some other bits but have realised that I must have far too much stash cos I brought the same set of sentiments again.......what a numpty. I did pick up a gorgeous Cd with lots of scrummy French papers on but my Son has whipped that away for Mothers Day for me so I shall have to act all surprised when I get it although to be fair I don't know what is on the CD apart from a few images.
Well back to Monday and today sees the start of another challenge at Ooh La La, today there is a photo for your inspiration.
......as as you can see from my card, I chose to use the colour scheme rather than the flowers. I have used a topper from the CD All Dresssed up...... and printed it out twice to layer up the dress and bag, I spritzed white flowers with glimmer mist using orange and red colours to get the colour right for the flowers and added a bow.
Better go and get ready for work
Catch up with you all later

Polka Doodles.....
Morning all, gosh the week has flown by, I've been busy at work with Valentines and then relaying the shop after the event, so I spent Wednesday cleaning all of the shop windows inside and out and then filling up, so by the time I got home I was totally pooped so all I managed to do on Thurdsay was colour my hair and finish off a DT card, I'm trying to get ahead with them as we are all going on a weekend away next week to Disneyland. We got a year ticket last year, so we are making a return trip with Ethan and his Mum and Dad as the pass runs out in March and we are driving down at night then catching the train and coming back by the boat so Ethan is so gonna love that.
My card for this weeks challenge at Polka Doodles is a sneek peek of the new revamped Candy Doodles CD that is being launched this Sunday on Create and Craft at 9.00am and 2.00pm, so tune in to see lots of fabbie projects by the rest of the team. The challenge is to use 1 image, 2 Papers and 3 embellishments (type or quantity). All papers, sentiment and scalloped border is also from the same CD.
Challenges

We did ice a 'will you marry me' in Las Vegas on a chocolate heart in the shop so I hope we get an invite to the wedding I fancy a trip there.

Sketch n Stash.......
Morning peeps hope you are all well, well thats another Sunday gone and I was going to get soooo much done yeaterday and guess what I had a nap and slept most of the afternoon, I think I'm turning into a dormouse so apart from a couple of DT cards I didn't get much else done, I say nothing if I was going to bedlate but I still manage to sleep all night.
Todays sketch for Sketch n Stash was done by yours truly, it seemed appropriate that there should be hearts included on this weeks sketch being as tomorrow is Valentines Day, disappointing at work as we haven't really iced any naughty messages or any will you marry me ones. Talking of marriage I decided to do a wedding card featuring a new Fizzy Moon image and I've managed to colour it in with Promarkers......but still need lots of practice and a few more colours me thinks. The old stash I've used are the papers which are Papermania and the new is the stamp.

For my card I have gone very traditional with a red and black theme, the image I used of cupid is available from The Graphics Fairy and was the main inspiration for this card, I love doing collage cards as you might have guessed from previous posts so I used other Valentine images to complete it. The word Amour and the sentiment are from Loast Coast designs, the wings, heart and Love word are from Prima. I just love thos new corner die from Marianne designs called Anja, so I went mad and did all four corners. After putting it altogether I still wasn't happy, you know when you fiddle and replace items but it still has that missing piece.....anyway I looked at it and thought oh well just spritz the whole thing with gold Glimmer mist if its ruined what the heck, so I did and was pleasantly surprised with the result.

Je t'aime.......
Bonsoir ........I definately have a French theme going on this week,I've made a collage card using papers and a stamp from Crafty Individuals, the paper book is called Springtime and a Paris theme stamp CI 260, love the fresh Spring like colours of these papers which also happens to be the challenge over at Crafty Indviduals this month.........Spring. The swirl die is by Joy, love the new ones that have recently come out including a scrummy heart and butterfly. I added turquise and purple foil to the swirls and then heat embossed with Ranger rainbow embossing powder for a lovely glittery effect. I used Broken China and Dust Concord for the background of the image, then spritzed this with Irridescent Gold Glimmer mist before stamping. The border and corner die are from Marianne designs called Anja. The bow is made out of wire, I brought it ages ago at the NEC its like a tube of knitted wire that you twist and tease out to create bows, butterflies or flowers.
The Eiffel Tower is made from gold utee, I dusted the mould with Perfect Pearls before
pouring in the utee.

Hope you are all keeping warm, its still cold here but so far no more snow. Have to tell
you about Ethan on Tuesday. After de-icing the car we went for a walk in the park,
now we avoided all of the frozen puddles of ice until on the return journey back home when
Ethan decided to run up to the biggest one and would he listen when I said no....yep you guessed it
he jumped straight in it, skidded, landed on his bottom and the ice broke and there
he sat in the middle of a deep muddy puddle.......at home he had to have a warm bath, which he thought was fun, well we were playing with bubbles. I had to get hubby to nip round to his house to get a change of clothes. The first thing my daughter said to me when she picked him up later was....."he wasn't wearing that earlier, whats he done"?......its never a quite moment in our house.

Sugar Creek Hollow.....
Afternoon peeps, when this gets posted I shall be at work in the freezing cold, cos we have to have our doors open unless its blowing a gale, although we might be under a foot of snow as you are reading this........lol. In complete contrast to the weather this weeks challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is a beach theme.....'Vacation at the Beach'.
For my card I used papers and an image from Crafty Individuals, but the suitcase is a stamp from B Line. The shells I have used on this card are some I have collected or brought whilst on holiday, the larger shell which has such beautifull colours inside I brought from a shop in Amsterdam, now this shop was in the middle of the Red Light district tucked inbetween a drug shop and a sex shop, funny place for a shop like that to be, and before you say anything you have to explore the local places of interest whilst on holiday......lol, they did have some amazing shops there all rather too naughty to describe and we didn't pop into any of the cafes either. The little shells I picked up from lake Garda last year, they are sooooo dinky, just knew they would come in handy one day.

Polkadoodles......
Mornig all, no snow yet but the head lines in the papers say a week of snow so they must be right cos they don't tell fibs......lol. Its back to work for me today so no crafting today, well thats not exactly true as I ussually spend my lunch break colouring. I'm trying to colour with Promarkers at the moment and I have to say I'm struggling, I'm so used to blending colours and mixing them together and of course with Promarkers you can't get the same effect, they are great for covering large areas, I did colour this image with Promarkers but I wasn't totally happy with the finished result so I applied glamour dust on top and turned it into a sparkly bear.......lol. The theme this week at Polkadoodles is Show us some love and include a heart. I used the image and papers from The Sundae of Seasons CD. I just love the string of hearts and kisses that the bear is holding, I did add glossy accents to these and I coloured the buttons as they were originally white.

Valentines......
Morning peeps brrrr.... another cold day we've got huge icicles hanging from our garden water feature in the pond, looks very pretty but no snow yet. I had a lovely day yesterday and I've got another day off today, I could get used to this, hubby spent the day cleaning out the kitchen cupboards and I spent most of the day playing in my room......did I feel guilty? only when he brought me a cup of tea up.....lol, he's going to put my pictures up on the wall for me today so that I can organise my room a bit better as they are sitting on a shelf at the moment. When visiting blogs I'm amazed at how organised and neat and tidy some look, thankfully some that I visit look like mine, organised in a more creative way .......lol.
Well I managed to catch up with a couple of Dt cards yesterday and finish this one thats been a working progress for the best part of the week, sometimes, well truth be know most of the time I stamp something without any pre plan as to the colours or what the fininshed card will look like, I just keep adding bits until eventually it kind of works. This card definately falls into that catergory, the main image was a play at first with the background, then I glimmer misted it then I added some silver embossing to it, then I thought I know colour the leaves with Prisma pencils to see if they colour on top of pre coloured card.......and yes they do. The stamps I used are by Chocolate Baroque called Harlequin Rose. I did get mine when they were called Elusive Images but the stamp set is still the same.
Then I thought, stamp and colour the rose and puff it out for added dimension. The one thing that I knew I wanted to use was the delicious ruffled ribbon which is shimmery and such a lovely colour, then the rest of the card was a trial and error, like the pink hearts that I stuck to the punched out border using a Martha Stewart punch which fit perfectly over the heart punched out bits (you can get those from MeiFlowers).I know its the not a traditional looking Valentines card but I quite like the colour combo, I used Victorian Velvet, Brushed Sage and Dusty Concord for the background and used a Vintage Rose glimmer mist by Tattered Angels to spritz on the top.
