Is it a book or a box ?

Afternoon fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are all keeping well and not snowed in, noticed the headlines in The Express this morning saying we are expecting killer weather, I had to laugh as this paper only ever has weather headlines and is very rarely right. I have been absent for a week as I have been working on some samples for Kraftyhands and I was also asked by Leandra of PaperArtsy to make some samples for a couple of new stamp sets that Elizabeth Borer is bringing out, so sorry no sneak peeks yet, but the release dates are early February.

I did manage to get to a workshop at Daisy Jewels with Lindsay Mason the Saturday before last so here are pics of my finished box, which when I saw the sneak peek of the project I thought it was a book. We got to use some of the lush Viva products and the sheen of these metallics paints called Maya Gold are gorgeous. I did use Precious metals by Viva a few years back but these new ones are so much more better.

Lots of lovely layers, including a crumpled  paper background, stencils and embossing after we had layered up all the embellishments and die cuts etc. the painting started, first a base layer of black and then we added the metallics which blended lovely.  I added a final touch of Viva Inka gold in lilac to lift the the blue and bronze lustre of the Maya gold paint. As these paints are water based they can be easily mixed to create new colours and once they are dry they are permanent........guess that's what I shall be buying next.

It's a womans world

Afternoon to you all, no snow here today and I  pay my rates the same as everyone else but for some reason it misses where we live, oh well at least the sun is shining and there is a lovely blue sky, well there is at the moment no doubt that will all change soon. I thought I would share with you another card, this time I have used the new tag stamp CI 427 It's a Womans world from Crafty Individuals. Another great stamp that you can cut up the individual tags for embellishments, or use it as a whole stamp like I have on this card. I stamped and embossed onto velum using one of the Lace doily stamps CI 426 designed by Gio for the background paper and used Flower heads CI 206 painted in Twinkling H20s for extra shimmer.

It's a mans world.......

Morning and welcome to a new post featuring one of the new stamp sets from Crafty Individuals CI 428 It's a mans world. This stamp plate is so versatile, I love the idea of cutting up the mini tags to add as embellishments to other projects but for this card I have just simple stamped  onto a distressed card using Broken China and chipped Sapphire distress inks. Then I just stamped three of them again to layer up for extra depth. I have kept this card very simple by just adding an embossed silver gear and some card candi.

Winter Blues.......

Morning to all my fellow crafty bloggers, I'm up early to do my post for the new challenge at Kraftyhands. The theme this month is Winter Blues, which is very appropriate as January is such a depressing month......or so the media would have us think they obviously don't craft do they.
I have used the Beautiful Baroque Cd for my card, a nice simple layered up image, I did added silver glitter to the lines on the design to make the image stand out more. I also added diamantés to the wrap as well.

The guys are bringing out another new Cd real soon which I'm looking forward to getting my hands on as it's another vintage one this time featuring seed packets, called Seeds of love
You can pre order it here

have a fun filled week

Christmas 2014......

Evening peeps and welcome to my very late post for a challenge over at Scrapology. I'm trying to do more scrap lay outs this year, this one is of my Christmas tree which doesn't show up that well from the photos, I have added embossing with Frantage to some of the photos as well as the snowflakes. I have used Forever Friends paper that are not Christmas but I loved the stars and the pink......cos you know I lurvvvvve pink.

have a lovely evening

Back to normal.....

Firstly I would like to say hi to the two ladies who have just joined my journey, welcome. Well I guess that's it for another year, time to take the tree and decorations down, which I hate, as the house seems so bare afterwards, and at work the shop is empty as well so it's back to normal. January is my least favourite time of the year it's an in between time if that makes sense. It's usually now when everyone starts planning their summer holiday to give themselves something to look forward to.......we haven't made our minds up this year where we want to go my son would love to go to Japan.
Todays card is one I made for a lady for her daughter using the Indigo Blu stamp Elizabeth Bennet. I have used a mixture of distress inks (the face) and prismas to colour in the image and added glitter for a touch of bling, as well as layering up some of the flowers in her hair.

Challenges
Indigo Blu...... glitz and glamour.
Crafts Galore.....anything goes
Fantasy Stampers.....Happy Birthday

Crafty Individuals......

Morning and a Happy New Year to you all, I know I'm a day late, that will teach me staying up the night before and then sleeping the next day to catch up, I'm such a light weight (I wish) unlike my youngest Grandson who was still playing hard into the small hours on New Years Eve.
Crafty Individuals have a new challenge starting  and the the theme this month is Scenic Stamping, for my card I have played around with stencilling, texture paste, glimmer mists and treasure gold as well as distress stains which I used on iridescent card to see what effect I could get. The stamp I have used is CI 422 Spring Flower Garden and of course the flower heads stamps CI 206 which I painted using twinkling H20s for added shimmer. This is rather a bright coloured card for me but I think I'm entering my pink phase again......lol.

Don't forget as well that when you enter the challenge you must use a Crafty Individuals product and you also get a 25% discount off your next order......how fabbie is that!
