Wedding Lay out.....

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are enjoying these sunny days, had a lovely afternoon sat in the garden watching Zachary play yesterday, hadn't got the energy to join in with him as I have come down with a stinker of a chest cold......I'm going for a record for how many bugs I can catch in a year, I seem to have a week off before the next one appears, guess my immune system is running on over load.
I have had a play with all the new Crafty Individual stamps and paper pad that has just come out, the stamps are great for backgrounds, really nice and large...... check them out here. I wanted to do another wedding Lay out especially as it's my daughters and son in laws anniversary this Sunday.......guess whose got the kids !

I used a Tim Holtz stencil and Gesso for the main raised part of the background, the down size of that was it took an age to dry as it remained soft if I used a heat gun, afterwards I used purples and blues in glimmer mist drying in between each spritz.
I then used the backround stamps in archival hydrangea for the main areas and added some stamping in with Melon to add a smidge more yellow that are in the torn pieces from the new Seville background book from CI.

The butterflies are stamped on a page of the Seville book and then
I added glimmer and gemstones for bling.

Riding High........

Evening fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are all having a lovely start to the Bank holiday weekend, I spent today at a crop, doing a lovely workshop with Morag Cutts, another couple of techniques I've not tried before, love the distressed ink background done on gesso for added texture and then the shaded inky resist embossed background for the bottom photo. We took our Grandsons to a local farm called Ashend Farm near Tamworth, its a great place to take children as its very hands on, but their favourite had to be the horses, Zachary who is only 2 and a half didn't want to sit on the small miniature ponies, oh no he chose a big one.

No day off for me tomorrow but I'm off the next three which will be sent with my Grandsons another visit to the farm on Tuesday and probably Twin Lakes on Wednesday which is another favourite place of the boys.
Fun times ahead, then I will need to go back to work for a rest.

Scrap Wedding Lay out......

Morning and welcome to another one of my lay outs of my daughters wedding, I have been playing about with this one for the past couple of weeks on and off. The flowers I stamped and embossed in Wow fine gold, the stamps are from Heartfelt Creations. I then painted the flowers with Twinkling H20s before cutting them out with the matching dies, and you definitely need the dies to make it easier as each flower has at least 4 layers. I have used various Kaisercrafts stamps for the rest of the embossing around the edges of the page and the butterflies and trellis. The papers are from Papermania.

The background paper is from DCWV and is from the wedding stack, I used PaperArtsy Snowflake Fresco paint around the edges and then embossed in gold on top of that I then used Treasure Gold White Fire around the edge, I also added paint splatters over the rest of the paper.

Flower stamp and matching dies are from Heartfelt Creations
Tattered Blossoms HCPC 3468.

Evening peeps and welcome to my very late post for a challenge over at Scrapology. I'm trying to do more scrap lay outs this year, this one is of my Christmas tree which doesn't show up that well from the photos, I have added embossing with Frantage to some of the photos as well as the snowflakes. I have used Forever Friends paper that are not Christmas but I loved the stars and the pink......cos you know I lurvvvvve pink.

Mixed media scrap LO......

Morning to all my fellow blogging friends, hope you all had a lovely weekend, I went to Milton Keynes on Sunday for a spot of Christmas shopping, I must say I'm disappointed with the lack of festive decorations, no one seems to make any effort these days despite the fact that the shops are fighting for our custom. I will be putting our trees up next weekend so I'm looking forward to that.
I thought I would share with you a mixed media lay out that I did at a scrap a few weeks back with Morag Cutts, when I got home I added all of the flowers and got out my Treasure gold for a smidge more bling.

lots of gesso, embossing powders, stamping, stencilling and layers,
I thoroughly enjoyed doing this as I did a few techniques I've not done before.

getting busy at the chocolate shop now, just three more Saturdays
to go before the big day.
Time to open the advent calendar

Fingers and thumbs........

Afternoon to you all hope you are having a relaxing Bank Holiday, mind you the weather is pants, such a grey rainy day, mind you I managed to finish this Lay Out this morning, I've been working on it for the past two days and I'm trying to do a page a month for my daughters wedding album. Sorry there are quite a few  piccies for this post, I was inspired by the sketch over at Scrapology and went over board with the bling.

The flowers are made using the flower stamp set by Heartfelt Creations called Open Vintage floret I didn't use the largest stamp but used the other three sizes as well as the matching dies for the layers, I stamped the flowers on off white card and embossed with Aurora embossing powder and used chipped sapphire distress ink to add colour to the petals. The leaves which is stamp set Open Leaf which I stamped with Memento Paris Dusk ink and again added embossing powder before cutting out.

The edges of the background paper from DCWV I stamped with a Kaisercraft edge stamp, embossed it with sea foam white embossing powder from Wow, I used a French script stamp from Crafty Individuals and stamped with London Fog ink around the edges, I edged the paper with a gold pen afterwards, swiping it over the white embossing as well.

I wish I had laced my daughters dress much earlier than I did as my hands were shaking that much I was literally all fingers and thumbs and struggled to get it done in time.
Thanks for taking a peek

Twenty Four Seven......

Morning to you all, I've finished another Lay out with piccies of my Grandsons sports day, I couldn't leave out Ethans brother, Zachary wanted to get in on the act so he kicked the space hoppers around, he thought it was great fun.I have used the same papers from Simple Stories Twenty Four Seven collection. I have been having a play joining in on the cyber classes that A Trip down memory Lane have been running over the last weekend. This Lo is for a challenge that they are running, called Seven Sisters, you have to use 7 of something, mine is papers.

Have a great weekend

Sports Day......

I got to go to Ethans end of year sports day last week, I can't believe how fast that year went, its lovely seeing all the children participate in their various races, involving bean bags, bats and space hoppers....well they were called that in my day. Ethan got off to a flying start with those long legs of his, but we laughed as his ingenuity when they had a relay race where they had to balance a bean bag on their heads and run/walk without dropping it, my Grandson took his cap off put the bean bag on his head then put his cap back on and tore up the field.......as you can guess that wasn't in the rules. when it came to the Dads race of course his Dad had to have a go with a little prompting from moi. This scrap layout features some of the piccies of the day, I have used Simple Stories papers and embellishments called Twenty four Seven.

I have spritzed the background with Dylusion sprays and then stamped using
a honeycomb stamp from Creative Expressions to the background paper. The pin wheels I made from a hexagon shape and added a brad to the centres.

love the photo where Ethan is giving his Dad a pep talk before the Dads race.

the photo is hidden behind the main panel of photos with just the journalling on show as I wanted to add the piccie of him on his space hopper.

My op got cancelled today so hopefully it will go ahead on Monday now, it was a real pain having to go and get my blood tests done again though, on the plus side it gives me a bit longer to get all the jobs finished i.e weeding the garden, washing, ironing all those Mum sort of jobs that we all do, along with going to work, looking after the Grand kids etc.
hugs n smiles to you all

Scrapbook challenge.......

Morning crafty friends, not sure if yesterday was the heatwave, because we had a thunderstorm during the night which they said would be Saturday. In fact its just starting to rain again so I guess that was it. On Thursday I'm in hospital having an op to remove my gall bladder and stones, not looking forward to it but I am feeling quite poorly now with it and I look 9 months pregnant because my stomach is swollen or I could be kidding myself and its all fat. Since I got back from my holls. I have done a couple of layouts, I want to do more scrapping so this is one of two that I have done this week and I'm entering my very first scrapbook challenge.......Scrapology.

The background paper is DCWV and the rest are Papermania from a capsule collection.
For my daughters wedding theme she chose stars and blue. Her dress was decorated with star sequins and caught the light lovely. The stamps that I used are from Friskars, I love adding polaroid apertures over the photos to highlight parts, the heart is embossed with a powder called Mermaid Tears by Piccola, I picked this up in America.......fell in love the name, it has an iridescent lilac/blue tinge to it. The stars are punched and die cut out and then layered as well as some having a sparkle glitter on them.

Tag it......

Evening to you all, phew what a wet week we had last week, just when the children are off school, we took Ethan and Zachary to Twin Lakes last Tuesday and had to dodge the showers, we didn't get to spend much time outside so it's a perfect excuse to go back again and hopefully we'll get better weather next time.
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme this month is......Tag it. When I saw the new stamps that have just been released I knew that I wanted to do a scarp book layout, so I have used all new stamps on this layout making lots of tags including a mini tag book. The papers I have used are really old and are Basic Grey ......Two Scoops, not sure if these are still available.

The top tag is one from Crafty Individuals I folded over the bottom to make a pocket and then added the floral spray from CI 410, Butterfly Mornings and Wild flower afternoons, I just embossed this with Platinum Wow powder, inside the pocket I made a mini tag album stamped with the dragonfly from he same stamp set.
Next tag is stamped with the stamp title in Pumice Stone.
Floral tag is CI 411, Garden of flowers, I coloured the image in with Prismas, the butterfly is from the CI 410 stamp set.
The tag with the button was stamped with the bumble bee from CI 410
I embossed the dragonfly in platinum and layered it on the blossom round image which was coloured in with Prismas, this is also from the CI 410 stamp set
The last tag is using the CI 409 Dreaming of Dragonflies which I stamped with versamark and the used perfect pearls to create the background before adding the buttercup image again from CI 410 and again coloured in with Prismas.

CI 409 Dreaming of Dragonflies

CI 410 Butterfly Morning and Wildflower Afternoons

CI 411 Garden of Flowers

The photos are of my hubby and Grandson Zachary,
just before he was walking and causing trouble,
Now there is no stopping me
have a great week
