Sugar Creek Hollow............

Wow another weeks gone and we are fast approaching Valentines day which is our next busy occassion at work, on Thursday I went to a meeting and got to try some of the new Easter Eggs that Thorntons are making this year, Banoffee, Eaton Mess and Lemon Merangue, I have to say the eaton mess one  is soooooo scrummy, strawberry flavoured chocolate with freeze dried berries and merangue mixed in.........sorry if this has got you all  thinking hmmmmm Chocolate, its part of the job to try them all, which is why I shall never be a size 14 again let alone a 12.

For my card today at Sugar Creek Hollow, I used the delish papers called Ella Blue by g.c.d. studios a lovely collection of browns and blues the papers have a linen texture to them and some even have a flocked effect, I stamped straight onto the papers using the Butterfly stamp set by Tim Holtz and then mounted  butterflies on top of two of them for added dimension. the ribbon is by Marianne, love the check effect.

Ooh La La......

Bonjour peeps, well today is Monday and the start of another week, not looking forward to the weather this week as it sounds like its mostly rain especially for tomorrow.....oh well I think I'll take Ethan to Jam Jam Boomerang and have a play on the slides and climbing frames tomorrow, I need some excercise.......lol
Todays card is for the new challenge at Ooh la La, the theme this week is to use a double image, rather than use the same image twice on the front of the card I decided to decorate the inside as well, with a smaller version.

The images are from the Carnival of Colour Cd.

Have a great day

Red Roses......

Afternoon peeps, another weekend nearly over but at least I had a little play time this morning before going to a local train show.......there are some really talented people out there as some of the lay outs are so detailed, Richard managed to spend some of his money, my son has sooooo much train stuff he just needs to get the time to start a lay out of his own although he's trying to persuade his dad to convert the attic, I did say that if the room was big enough I'd have the attic as a studio and he could have my craft room for his trains.....seems a fair swop to me.....lol.
Being as valentines is approaching I thought I'd make a couple of cards, now I haven't inked up these two stamps in a long long time and its been ages since I used these K.&Ko papers as well, I'm trying to be good and use up some of my older stash. The key I embossed in gold and the heart chip board shape I covered with matching paper then sprinkled red glitter into the glossy accents and let it dry. The image has been coloured in with Prismas which I coloured yesterday in my lunch break.......stops me eating chocolate.......lol. and if you believe that you'll believe anything.

Now I'm just loving the theme this week so for my card I've gone pink and black, the stamp I've used is by Stempelglede........I know the images are Christmas designs but I covered the sentiment up with flowers so I think that you could then use the image for other occassions, I also did some recyclying on this card as the pink angel hair behind the image was actually a wrap around some flowers I recieved ages ago, I'm getting terrible for saving everything now I becoming quite a little hoarder.........lol. The backing paper is from My Minds Eye Blush, and the flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. The lace stamp is a B Line design and is a scrummy detailed lace stamp which I embossed with white embossing powder by Wow and I definately think it has the wow effect, stamps are available from That's Crafty.

Jingle Bo......

Afternoon peeps, thought I'd post this card today although its another Christmas one, I coloured the image before Christmas hoping to make it before the big day but I didn't get time so I made the card this week and finally fininshed it today.
The image is from Teddy Bo.com another sweetie of an image and I used Prismas for the colouring. The papers are from First Edition, I made a stepper card because I wanted to create a scene with a layered effect, so the first step is made up of several torn papers in white and blue to represent the snow, I then used Snow Writer by Decocraft for the snow and added stickles to the top of that when it had dried for added sparkle.I also placed a folded tree ontop of another tree which had been distressed using Pine Needles and then embossed in Cosmic Shimmer Aurora to get a dimensional one.

Little Star......

Morning peeps, what a glorious morning all frosty and white with the sun shining, a perfect day for crafting and that is exactly what I did when I got up first thing this morning, I love Sundays a whole day off with usually nothing to do, well apart from the usual chores, I always get up and take a cup of tea with me into my little oasis and have a play and this mornings card is what I created, although I did colour the image in previously.

I dug out some old papers that I had from Kars which were perfect for this shabby Winter card, I left off the word Christmas so that it could be either a Christmas card or a winter Birthday card. The image was coloured with Prismas and I used Snow writer for all the textured snow as well as tea Dye and Broken china inks for the distressing, the trees were then heat embossed with Aurora embossing powder by Cosmic Shimmer.....love this stuff and I think I'll need some more real soon.

The image is by Karen Middleton, she does do sweet images and this one is called Little Star available at Cuddly Buddly.

Sugar Creek Hollow......

Afternoon all......well here goes, today is my first day as a member of  the Sugar Creek Hollow design team, I was thrilled to be asked to join them as I love vintge as well as doing cute designs, so now  I have the perfect excuse for doing more vintage designs.

I appolgise for not getting round to any blogs last night but Ethans dad was taken into hospital with appendicitis, so after taking down one of the Christmas trees, bathing Ethan and putting him to bed I was totally pooped, you should have seen Ethan with one of my T shirts on pinned up to stop it falling off  because we weren't pepared for him to be stopping the night......he looked so sweet.

Happy New Year and welcome to our first challenge of 2012 at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want you to save some trees and RE-PURPOSE PAPER TOWELS, TOILET PAPER OR COFFEE FILTERS. Instead of buying some designer paper for your project, go to your kitchen or bathroom and grab one of the above items and let's see how you can transform it and incorporate it into your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card or other paper-crafted project.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Our new Design Team is in place and everyone has worked hard to create some inspiration for you. If you want details on how they re-purposed the various items, click on their names to go directly to their blogs.

I have made the flowers on my card as well as the background with the text on from Kitchen paper, I spritzed a couple of sheets with Tuscan Sun, Vintage Rose and gold glimmer mists, I then heat dried them and used the Tim Holtz flower die to cut out several layers at the same time, I used the two smaller flower dies  it was a bit fiddly separating all the layers, (tip .....use a pokey tool to slide in amongst the layers ) I added brads from Basic Grey to the centres of the flowers. The text stamp is from The Artistic Stamper and I used a deep purple, I then stuck this down with matt multi medium. The main paper is from My Mind Eye called A Beautiful Life which I then wiped White Picket Fence stain over the top......great effect.

Don't forget to pop over to see what the other members of the team have made,
and remember no cute designs for this challenge.
Challenges
Truly Scrumptious.....shabby pastels and paint
Have a lovely weekend

Polkadoodles.......shades of grey

Morning all, today is back to work day........drat, I was just getting the hang of having days off, having fun making cards, watching TV, eating Turkey sarnies, and just generally chillin', and now its getting up early and work, oh well nearly the weekend, and being as its Friday it also means that its the first challenge of the year at Polkadoodles and this week Nikky has set the theme .......Shades of grey with a sketch to follow as well.
For my card I've done an anniversary card which is from The Love and Cherish Cd, I printed the main image onto textured card for a more canvas look and as you can see not a drop a colour in sight.....lol, I did add silver to the edges of the card with a Krylon marker pen.

There is also a fabbie prize of a selection of grey
Flexmakers from Letraset.

Oh well better go and get ready
for work.
