Problem solved

visited my local printer shop and solved the problem of painting with water colour paints using digi stamps. I printed off the designs and then took some card with me and the printer that he has uses powder and heat to print with, which means that it is waterproof......yay.....so I just had to have a play this afternoon as this bunny and daffodils is soooo sweet. Digi Stamp winner

At Rainbow lady challenge blog I won some digi stamps from Di's Digi downloads and this is my first card with one of the images that I chose. The problem that I have with digi stamps is being able to use watercolour paint to colour the image without the ink running, I was very careful with this card but still the ink ran......so I'm going to my local printer to ask whether he can laser print them so that I can colour them in with water colours ......any one out there that has over come this problem I would love to hear from you.

I have used h2o's and a lot of glamour dust for the cloud and wings......just lovin all that sparkle, papers are from Papermania and the bows are a ribbon...really sweet I think have entered this card into Die cut Dreams.....the theme is new beginnings and can be interpreted how you want. The sketch that I followed is from Sketch Saturday Nursery rhymes are the theme at C.R.A.F.T. I can only think of rock a bye baby the only thing is this baby isn't up a tree, but its what I sing my grandson to get him off to sleep.

Rock and Roll

This is my DT card at My Time to Craft the theme is .....Make it Manly......and as you know its hard making cards for men so have gone for the rock star theme............The tag is from Tattered Angels which has a resist image that you can then glimmer mist and stamp onto. I stamped the guitar onto acetate and embossed it with holograhic powder as well as the stars and the words. the acetate was then overlaid and secured with the star brads. A star and guitar charm was added and threaded through the eyelet at the top of the tag.

Easel card

What a busy day lots of easter eggs to ice....good practice for drawing with stickles though. My grandson yesterday came out with three new words.....door....bird and choclate....not chocolate but very close...its a bit hard on him really as his Nan Nan works in a chocolate shop and he thinks he can have a choccie when he visits me in the shop as we give everyone else one. I would to know why one of the first words children learn is chocolate and over the years I've heard lots of variations.

On to todays card I,ve distressed the backround oval with broken china and then spritzed with irridescent gold glimmer mist, outlined with diamond stickles. Image coloured with sakura pens, flowers are from wild orhid crafts, papers are the new papermania rose collection.

just lovin these coloured papers.

side view the background of the distressed oval shows up better now.

Wedding

Morning.......had to get up at 6.00am this morning as my grandson was off to the child minders and I had to take him.....I hate this task as he usually cries and looks at you as if to say I usually go to your house please don't leave me. The first time I took him I was in tears myself and could't leave him (big softie) so I told my daughter I wouldn't take him again....but today i was brave and made a dash for it before he missed me.....just a whimper through the gate was all I heard as I legged it down the drive. however I now have time to post todays card.
When I first saw this stamp I knew I had to have it but then thought it would be hard to colour.....I've used my fave sakura pens and h2o's, flowers are wild orchid craft, and backround paper is from a magazine...no more left.

Challenges:
Cute card Thursday......happy anniversary wedding, birthday etc..
Papertake....colours lemon and lilac.
Sketch Saturday....sketch
Pile it on......use pastel colours
Stampavie.......wedding.

psychic !! or what

This Sunday I had a real messy play day but had no challenge in mind for this piece of work as its totally off the wall......lol.....its a wall anyway with a door leading through to a secret garden, surrounded by roses and flowers all made from metal. The title I wanted to represent tiles spelling out the theme.....I've used all the paints by viva.... I think, I used every style of paint technique as the sides of the frame are painted with crackle paint as well. Its been glimmer misted and highlighted.......Did I say this was a messy, throw all you can at a canvas project lol. The stamped image of the door is from Crafty Individuals as is the image behind the door.

I didn't think there would be a challenge out there for this piece until today as at Ginger snap creations they have a colour challenge.....Ginger, copper or rust. I hope they forgive me for using all three colours as well as gold. I just wanted an excuse to post this project. Just to let you know that they are also have a birthday blog candy giveaway.....awesome as is the blog especially if you love all things messy.....but its not compulsory as anything goes, its just an excuse for me to get all my viva paints out.

Vintage Wedding Card

What a lovely day today has been quite warm and sunny.....hopefully signs of things to come. My grandson has had us on a hunt today he was playing with the vacumn cleaner whilst I was cleaning the kitchen and managed to hide the pipe off the end of the cleaner in a blink of an eye.....I checked the cleaner and couldn't see it so we checked every where else to no avail....a real puzzle it was only after hubby came home and joined in the hunt that he discovered it on the cleaner after all... he'd managed to get it inside the other pipe so we couldn't see it.The little tinker......
Today my mojo had gone walkabout so I started making a tag and it kind evolved into a card, I'd brought a grapic 5 sheet of images....never used them before but I quite liked the vintage romantic images I used one of the small images and put it in a crushed bottle top....these make great embellishments. I went to a local health shop and they sold them 50 for £1.25......cheap as chips. I put glossy accents on the top of the image, the music stamp is from Crafty Individuals and is stamped on tissue paper. The heart doiley was distressed with .....yes you guessed it Victorian velvet and brushed corduroy as was the tag and then I rubbed stickles rock candy over the top, flowers from Wild Orchid.......the flowers from there are gorgeous.

Challenges entered are:
Everybody Art.....sketch.
Pollycraft....sparkly things, flowers have been glimmer misted and the diamond sticles added, crystal embellishments,
Crafty Angels....Hearts and lace.
Our creative cnr.....use the colours, yellow, pink, green and brown.

Last week I won at Ginger snap Creations and I recieved some stamps from The Artistic Stamper The stamp plate was titled the Roaring Twenties and it features ladies in 20's dress, so as my way of saying thank you I made this tag and sent it to Jennie who owns the artistic stamper I hope she likes it I certainly had fun making it........Images stamped onto tissue paper and then stuck and distressed inside the film strip which was embossed in black soot. The lady holding the oscar......well I'm assuming that it's an oscar ...was added using masking with tissue paper. The background stamp is from Paper Artsy, I distressed the lace to match and added a bugle bead and crystal drop fringe as well as another grunge paper Rose.

Mothers Day

Happy Mothers day.......I got up at my usual time as my son told me he'd make me a cup of tea in bed as a treat as long as I didn't mind staying in bed till 11.00....I'm assuming he meant this morning as you know what its like with boys they become nocturnal as they get older...well my son certainly is. So I'm off to my craft room with my cuppa... that I made myself to indulge in some early morning crafting so I'll post my project later....had an idea in the middle of the night to do a project based on a secret garden, I don't know why but most of my ideas seem to come then. I suppose I could become nocturnal and craft during the night then we'd all get up together in our household...lol

Wishful thinking

Getting fed up with the cold weather so I made a tag to remind me of my summer holiday last year and all that warm weather, I have decide to make a scrapbook featuring our holls in Italy and I've been collecting stamps and bits and pieces featuring Italy for a while now but have never started the project so I'm hoping this tag is the start of things to come........the stamp is from Dark room door, the background of the tag was distressed using broken China and brushed courdroy and then I masked it and glimmer misted using irridescent gold and midnight blue. I inked up just parts of the main stamp of the Grand Canal and stamped each side the tag  to line up the buildings. The lampost was stamped on grungepaper, with a smidge of gold embossing added to the lamp. The metal Venice label is stamped onto the new TSS peacock metal. just had to add a grunge rose.......

Challenges;

Secret Crafter.....anything goes.
Alphabet challenge...  T is for tag.
Paper Cutz........anything goes.
Gingersnap creations........Frosting, I use glimmer mist to frost everything lol.

Gone Fishing

Needed to make a card for my brother-in-law and being as he's into fishing thought he'd appreciate this, the background I've stamped on is the background sheet for catching this weeks glimmer misting.....mostly purple, gold and blue, so appropriate for water. Edged the stamped image with silver embossing powder to create a frame. The circles on the left side are free hanging attached with eyelets top and bottom so it creates bubbles of water....well that was the thinking behind it.

Challenges for this card are:

Sunday sketch and stamp.....sketch.
Allsorts......just for men.
Die Cut Dreams.......no flowers allowed
Ohh-la-la creations challenge.....anything goes.

Mum

I just love this stamp I recently brought with the Mother inscription on as its suitable for any occasion, this is another tag I've made getting inky and messy. The tag has been distressed using the Crushed Olive and Victorian Velvet from Tim Holtz ranger distress inks just loving the new shades.....need to get them all I think. The image is painted with the crackle paint to give it a glossy cracked effect. I used German Scrap to make the little frame around the picture. The lace stamp was stamped with distress ink...brushed corduroy. I also distressed he piece of lace which is threaded through the top of the tag. Grunge rose is coloured in victorian velvet and is made from the stitchels stamp.

Challenges are:

Simon Says.......mothers day/girly.
Totally Papercrafts......mothers day or special lady.
Lots to do......distressed.
Gingersnap creations.....celebrate

Easel Card

Have got up this morning feeling worse than yesterday...I hate colds, my nose resembles rudolphs and I sound like Darth Vader breathing. So had my cuppa and headed up to my craft room to take my mind off it, although I sneezed over a piece of card and had to start again....yuk. Haven't made one of these easel cards for ages and I don't know why as they are fun to do. Have made a kids card today and is so appropriate for alot of the boys out there, mine has a gift card holder as you can't give a game playing card without more spends for another game.....can you!!. I embossed the red frame and layered it to look like a picture on a wall of the boy playing with his games console, the image is from Lili of the Valley and the papers I have used are some I've had for ages in my stash. The image has been coloured using h2o's.....makes a change for me.

Challenges are:
Crazy 4 Challenges....paper piercing, mine is on the border across the card.
Our Creative Corner...followed the sketch.
One stop crafts....Sew simple, I've gone for faux stitching effect around the border.
Lili of the Valley.....easel card.
