Whitby Crafting.....
Evening peeps thought I'd post the pics of one of the projects that I did on my two day workshop with Jean Hardy from Crafty Individuals, we were told to take a small picture with us and I have wanted to do something with this photograph for ages as its one of Ethans first outings. We decided to go to a butterfly farm for a day out and as soon as we arrived one flew staight on his head almost covering his face, unfortunately I didn't have the camera ready then but when one flew on his foot I couldn't resist the look of wonder on his face......hence the flower that has wonder as the centre of it. I have never done a framed scrapbook picture before but I have already planned my next one to go in Ethans new bedroom which is Mickey Mouse themed.
I've used lots of goodies available from Crafty Individuals, including the frame with the mother and child, the film strip with flowers on and the the lovely vintage tag. and the delish dyed silk ribbon is by Stef Francis also available from CI.

Sketch n Stash......
Well its Monday again, only two weeks till Easter and lots of yummy chocolate especially for all you peeps who gave it up for Lent, I did consider doing that for a Nano second but knew I'd not complete the course......my will power is nil.I went to the NEC yesterday and spent a few pennies mostly on dies, I only brought one stamp, thats a first for me but I did pick up some sweet angel beads off The Hobby House, so they will be on my special Christmas cards this year.
We will be so busy at work for the next two weeks icing Easter eggs my poor wrist and fingers will be fit for nothing and my daughter wants me to decorate Ethans room after Easter when I'm having a break, so I guess thats no rest for me. Hes having a new bed with a slide and hes so excited and came into my shop yesterday to tell me and to ask me to paper his room ......how can I say no to that.Just hope I manage to get some Crafting time in.
Well on to todays fabbie sketch for this weeks challenge at Sketch N Stash, this week our lovely teamie Angie has come up with a lovely one for you to play along with.
We are sponsered by My Mums Craft Shop this week and the lucky winner gets £10 to spend

Sugar Creek Hollow......
Afternoon peeps hope you are all well, today sees the start of another challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, this week the theme is Steampunk .......seems ages since I did anything steampunky...hmmm wonder if that is a word, I was inspired by the backgroud paper that I used which is from Graphic 45, I love corsets although they must have been painful to wear mind you I think I could do with one to hold my love handles in......due to eating far too much chocolate.
The stamp I used is by B Line and its a double sided one, for the background of the corset I used a cog stamp from The Artistic Stamper and masked the corset image. The steampunk flower stamps are also by the Artistic Stamper, I embossed these with copper and layered them up using sprockets and gears.

Whitby.......
Morning peeps I'm back.....actually its seems as if I was away for more than 2 days, probably beause we packed in so much with crafting and sightseeing. Hubby took me to Whitby for a two day workshop with Jean Hardy who is the maufacturer of the gorgeous Crafty Individual stamps, well Malcolm her partner makes them as well as all the gorgeous images as hes a photographer. We were so well looked after and I must have put on another seven pounds in weight with all the gorgeous food that Kay laid on for us......amazing salmon and brocoli lasagne.
I'll post pics of what I made at the class later as I need to photograph them, but I though I'd share with you some pics of where we stayed for the first night.....not your usual B&B in fact they don't allow children under the age of 8 as its a bit spooky, but brilliant. The B&B is called Bats and Broomsticks and is well worth a stay especially if you are into Goth/Horror or just plain adventurous. The rooms are all themed with all things Goth, as is the whole of the place, in fact I had this full sized model of a vampire and coffin outside my room so when I need the loo I had to shimmy past it as if you touched it its arm went up and down.....it only got me the once....lol.
Its not every night that I share my fourposter bed with a bat and other assorted creatures.
on the skirting board by the fire place there was a little gothic arched wooden door with a mouse by the side of it.....so detailed, even the bathrooms were themed.
We met another couple the next morning at breakfast so we were all doing a tour of all the bedrooms in the place as each was different but brillliantly decorated, the attention to detail is amazing, inside the wardrobes you get a wooden stake, hammer and garlic......as well as a heat magazine rofl.
When we went downstairs for breakfast the room was dimmly lit and we had a candlelit full English breakfast, the attention to detail is amazing.
......check out the pic of the cutlery, even the toast was branded
Catch up with you all later

Ooh La La......
Morning to you all, hope all you Mums had a fabbie day, I popped up my Mums with my Son and had a yummy breakfast cooked by my sister......hmmmmm so scrummy.
Well after a hectic and very busy Saturday its back to work to put out all the Easter eggs for the Easter bunny, actually my son used to come and dress up as the Easter Bunny and hand out chocolate to all the children, might get him to do it again this year if I can get a costume.
Today sees the start of another challenge at Ooh La La, we want to see your Thank you cards this fortnight, so a nice easy one. I have kept my card simple using a daisy image which I layered up from the Fleur d'imagination CD, I used glossy accents for the centre of the daisies and then sprinkled in some yellow glitter for a smidge of bling.

Lots of green.......
Thought I'd share with you a card that I made for a lady last week, she had brought a card from me the previous week and asked me whether I would make a card for a 70th birthday for a special friend, the recipient lives in Bulgaria and has a vineyard so I used a stamp I have never inked up before of some grapes which I thought would be appropriate, it always worries me to make special requests as I would hate the person to say that they like it but secretly thinking yuk, well I thought I'd have a go for her. I used papers from MME.....and then over stamped it with a stamp from B Line using green ink.I sprinkled some gold embossing powder on part of the image that was stamped with Cocoa ink, the image was then coloured with Prismas blended with a blending pen.

Happy Mothers Day....
Morning everyone hope you all have a loving happy fun filled Mothers Day, and that you get to put your feet up and be pampered for a day, I'm ussually the first up in my house so there will be no cup of tea in bed.....well there would if I stayed in bed until midday....lol.
I'll tell you a funny story about one Mothers Day, when my son was at school he did Domestic science and he made a lovely sponge filled flan and in the centre was fruit, It was scrummy, so for Mothers Day he decided to cook another one for me as a surprise, now you need one of those tins that has the centre filled in to make the flan part and we didn't have one, anyway on the day I got presented with another scrummy looking flan.....he confessed that he had used the DOG bowl to cook it in, he did say he'd washed it before using it, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry, its one of those little memories that will stay with me for ever, by the way I didn't eat it although he said he'd washed the bowl out......thats kids for you.
Thought I'd share with you a couple of cards that I made using images from The Ooh La La Cd called Fleur D'Imagination.......love the vintage looking doily images with the pretty floral papers with the posies on.

Sugar Creek Hollow......
Aternoon peeps hope you are all well and enjoying the start of the weekend. At least the weather has improved and is more spring like, only a week to go to Mothers Day so its starting to get busy at work. Its amazing how many women come in buying chocolates for their hubbys mother. I do love this season though as I love the children coming in to get their Mothers a gift especially the boys......so sweet.
Todays sees the start of a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, this week the theme is Monochromatic green, the stamp that I have used is a new one that I picked up when I was in France the other week. I found this delightful shop full of scrummy goodies at the next town that we were staying. I think the town was called Lagney sur la Marne, the shop was open on the Sunday and the town was delightful with a local market on at the time. The stamp was made in France so it was a great souvenir. I stamped the image with green and sprinkled some gold embossing powder on part of the cage
