Sugar Creek Hollow.........

Afternoon peeps hope you are all still afloat after the down pour we had the other day, think this summer will be on record as the wettest, just wish the sun would peek out and brighten up the day. Well I had a few days off and I must say it wasn't the best mini holiday I have had, spent most of it running back and forth from hospital, doctors and dentists. Found out that Mum has the same problem as myself with an under active Thyroid which also explains some of her symptoms for being tired all the time. Then on Thursday I had my PDR which I hate anyway and I was so upset that some one (presumabbly a member of staff) has made a remark about me that has gone on my PDR as part of I could do better section, that had me in tears for the best part of the day, now I've got to go back and put on a happy face......

.....Anyway enough of my ramblings at Sugar Creek Hollow this week we have the theme of .....VINTAGE CHILDREN, being as we are being sponsered by TLC Creations.......they gave us an image to play with which reminds me of the old Janet and John books that I had to learn to read with when I was little.

The winner gets $10 to spend in store

I printed the image on linen textured card and coloured it in using promarkers and prisma pencils, I then sprayed with Crafters Companion shine spray and then wiped Tea Dye distress ink over the top, wiping off the excess. The papers are from Prima and fit the theme perfectly.

Our Creative Corner...........

Two posts in one day, you'll be geting fed up of me but I just had to share this card with you as I was asked a while back to be a guest designer at Our Creative Corner, and the theme that they asked me to join in with is .....DECADE.... as one of the ladies is celebrating her 10th wedding anniversary. So the challenge is to use ten of something or use the number 10, I decided to make a card that could either be for a wedding anniversary or a wedding and I used 10 hearts on this card, some are stamped, others are embellishments or part of the design. The background heart stamp is from Crafty Individuals. This is the first time I've done an 8x8 card and it took some filling up but its a great size for collage cards which I love doing.

Sugar Creek Hollow.....

Afternoon peeps, hopefully you are all having a rain free day, today sees the start of another challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow.....the theme this week is CIRCLES, I thought I'd try stamping on calico with Archival ink and then colouring the image in with Promarkers, if you just dab on the colour rather than brush it on it doesnt run in the threads of the fabric, the image is a B Line stamp, I used Dark Room Door Parisienne stamps for the word Paris and the Eiffel tower. The doiley behind the top circle was spritzed with glimmer mist and then stamped with a text stamp

Morning and many thanks for all your lovely comments of support, first time I've looked forward to a new week, lets hope that this one is a vast improvement on last weeks.....mind you my Grandson keeps a smile on my face, hes going through the Why stage and after an exhaustive list of whys he comes up with a little quip that has us in stitches.

We also have a sponser this week Dis digis

The winner gets to chose 5 digis

For my sketch I chose one I did awhile back and used papers from Papermania as my old stash. I stamped these Fizzy Moon cute bears with Memento and coloured in with Promarkers, on top of the punched heart border I put pearl heart embellishments, the heart die is by Joy.

Oh well I'm off today so I'm hoping too get the decorating fininshed that I have had on the go for the last few weeks.....I actually find it quite relaxing to do. I hoping to start my Sons room next week, one of these days I'll put my feet up ..........lol

Ready Teddy Go

Morning peeps sorry I've not been around much this week I've had a bit of a down week, my Mum was diagnosed with Alzheimers Dementia and its knocked me and my Sis for six as Mum insists on staying at home, so we are having to work out a rota of care as well as fitting in work and looking after my Grandson, then to top it off as its been busy at work with Fathers Day I was told to only use an additional 6 hours for the week, to say I have been run ragged is an understatement and I'm feeling very tired and down. Mind you the cherry on the top was having my PDR on Friday afternoon I think my ABM was pulling his hair out with me due to lack of sparkle and shine......I wonder why! I think I'd left my Super Woman pants at home that day.....lol.

Just to let you know that its just half way for The Ready Teddy Go challenge, the theme this month is ONE FOR THE BOYS......well being as its Fathers Day today I thought I'd make another Fathers Day card and this one features a Teddy Bo image. I coloured the image in with Prismas as well the little wooden frog which I then put glossy accents on the top with a sprinkle of glitter.

Sugar Creek Hollow.......

Today at Sugar Creek Hollow we want to see you go overboard with your embellishments as the theme this week is called........MORE IS BETTER. Another fabbie challenge and any excuse to add more bling, flowers charms etc to your Vintage, Shabby Chic or Primative cards is alaways good.

I have used the Perfume Crafty Individuals stamp plate CI 335, I embossed the silohuette in gold and then added crackle glaze ontop then added tea dye ink to highlight the cracks. The perfume bottles have been embossed in part, coloured and the glossy accents added for the glass effect, The lace butterfly I misted with glamour mist and added flowers from Wild Orchid crafts. I also made the background paper by using the crackle CI stamp and stamping with embossing ink and then dusted with gold perfect pearls.

Just to remind you that you that you still have time to enter the challenge at Crafty Individuals....the theme is A summer Ball, think glamour, chandaliers, butterfly/bugs ball etc.

Studio 12

Hiya peeps thought I'd let you know about the new blog that Nikky from Polka Doodles is starting called Studio 12.......

Studio 12 is a brand new blog which will bring you aspiring and creative work from our fabulously talented Design Team. Join us from 18th June when we will bring you a regular stream of amazing projects which you will adore and grab opportunities to win blog candy along the way with us too.

We are currently looking for some additional team members to join us! If you love making "stuff" from paper and 'heart' combining paper, digital elements, rubber stamps, doodling, stitching and mixed media we would love to hear from you! We're looking for the best of the best creative minds to join us so if you think this will float your boat then please apply.

Studio 12 is NOT a challenge blog but you MUST be committed to post at least 3 times per month on this blog and link to your own blog regularly (you MUST have a blog which is updated regularly), plus be active on forums, blogs and social networks. If you are a UK resident you MUST be able to produce physical samples which include altered items, cards and scrap layouts etc and to produce these to deadlines when required (non UK residents have some allowances for this). You will be working mainly with digital elements but other products will also be used and HYBRID crafting is the theme of our blog - if you ONLY create flat digital layouts please do not apply, we want to see layering and embellishing and creativeness between physical crafting and the digi world. This is not a paid position but you will receive products free of charge in lieu of promotion through the blog and the duties outlined above plus will get to showcase your work on the UK's dedicated crafting channel Create & Craft. We are happy for you to be on other design teams but not at the expense of Studio 12 and we cannot emphasise enough that we expect commitment if you are chosen for the team, so please ensure you are able to accommodate with any other design teams. We need you to be passionate about what you do and committed for a minimum of a 4 month term on the team. Cardmakers, Scrapbookers and Altered Media artists are welcome, we are looking for a diverse team and will welcome applicants from USA/Canada, Australia, Europe and all around the world.

To apply: Please email sales@polkadoodles.co.uk BEFORE 19 June 2012, including your blog link, a short paragraph about why you want to be on the team and attach images of your favourite 3 pieces of work you have personally created on the email. We will notify you by email before the end of June and will reply to everyone who applies by 30 June.

Ooh La La Creations.......

Morning peeps, another weekend gone but at least I managed to get into the garden and rescue some of my plants that had been a bit rain damaged.Just need a dry day tomorrow so that I can go around my mums and tackle her garden which is a bit over grown at the moment.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Ooh La La, phew we had so many gorgeous creations for the last challenge that it made picking a top three such a difficult task.....it was my turn to pick them.

For this challenge we want to see BABY creations, and for my card I have used new images from the brand new Cd called Every Occassion it has some very sweet images on the CD.....which will be launched on Create and Craft on July 6th at 10:00am and 1:00pm but is already available on the website. My card is all layered up and with the addition of ribbon, lace and buttons oh and some glitter I kept the LO simple.

Sugar Creek Hollow.........

We had a fabbie day in York yesterday, we got to see lots of trains and had quite a few train rides including one sitting in the carriage of the Hogwarts express as well as that my son and Ethan actually got to stand on the train in the drivers part of the Hogwarts express so that was a lovely experience.......mind you these trains are enormous when you stand next to them on the ground.....I'll post some pics later.

On to todays challenge at SUGAR CREEK HOLLOW........the theme this week is to make your own papers, so don't be sneeking on any Prima or Graphic 45 etc and also just to remind you that we want to see Vintage, shabby chic or Primative style cards....sorry no cuties
Before I get to my card we would like to welcome our guest designer,Kimberly Morrow...... who won last months guest spot, so well done Kimberly, check out her lovely blog http://whimsicalpaperelegance.blogspot.ca/

For my card I have used all B Line Stamps, the houndstooth back ground I stamped onto cream card using Rich Cocoa memento ink, the ribbon band I used black and then coloured in the lighter part of the gingham using promarker Light fawn. The advertisement image I stamped onto cream and then coloured again with promarkers as well as adding ink to the edges, after that I embossed part of the advert in clear just to add some interest to the image. The key part I embossed and then highlighted the keys with copper and gold embossing and added a chipboard key in the bottom corner, I then fininshed off with some buttons.

Because you get up really close to the trains I just know two boys will love it .....ones alot older than the other......lol.just hope we don't get soaked.

Today also sees the start of another challenge at Polkadoodles and the theme this week is LOTS OF FLOWERS, so for a change I thouht I'd use my stamps from the Daisy Doodles set, you get lots of little stamps on this set including ladybirds, flourishes and flowers. I just stamped and coloured in with promarkers, some I then embossed, some I just left uncoloured.

Sketch n Stash......

Morning peeps, are you all enjoying the Jubilee celebrations, such a shame it rained yesterday and last week we were basking in warm sunshine and this week its back to the rain and cold weather, had to put a jumper on again yesterday whilst watching the pageant on the telly, just hope the weather gets better again real soon. I couldn't believe that the Queen managed to stand for such a long time and not once sitting on those plush thrones......I'd have had to have curled up on one and had a nana nap.

.....talking of Nana naps, I have some wonderful news, I'm going to be a Nana again, this time my daughter waited until she has had all the tests and scan before she told us, I must admit I was quite surprised as she has hidden the morning sickness really well from us. So we are expecting our second grandchild just before Christmas......I can't wait and I can start knitting again......yay!!

Well after all that news I'd better show you the sketch by our fellow teamie Sarah-Jane for the start of this fortnights challenege at Sketch n' Stash.....and what a lovely sketch it is.

My Mums craft shop are kindly sponsering us this week and the winner gets £10 to spend.

Afternoon peeps, this week has been a whirl and I've been so bad for not getting round to visit my fave blogs and thank you for your lovely comments,I had a phone call at 6:00am yesterday morning as my mum wasn't feeling very well, shes 83 and still lives on her own, and has no intention of moving but its such a worry when shes ill so I dashed round before going to work.

Well onto this weeks challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, the theme this week is .....FATHERS DAY, so we want to see you VINTAGE,SHABBY CHIC OR PRIMATIVE cards.

I have used the new Crafty Individuals stamp CI348 with vintage menu and wine bottles, the ones on the menu I have stamped onto Shrink plastic, colouring in the images with Promarkers before shrinking..........love this stuff as it curls and flips and then miraculously it turns out as a minature bottle. I created the frame for the image by stamping 4 borders colouring them in and then adding crackle glaze on the top. The bottle top with the sentiment in I added glossy accents and then sprinkled gold glitter in for a smidge of bling.

I was inspired by Laura Carson who made a fan for Alpha Stamps and she also has lots of fabbie tutorials on her blog.I have used various papers, stamps and embellishments all from Crafty Individualsfor each of the fan pieces.
