Faux Pas
Thought I would share with you the project that I did at the Retreat in Daventry with Ali Crafts earlier this month, the tutor was Hels and we created a background piece which was spritzed with inks. We started off with a piece of card and stuck down strips of cut up die cut borders, and then the fun began with several layers of inks and micas. We used black for the base of the flowers and then spritzed again with another couple of colours, the black really adds a depth to them.
Afterwards we cut up the piece of card to create 9 ATC size pieces......but guess who made a boob when measuring, yep you guessed it......ME. so I had to put my thinking cap on when I got home which is why I have added the dyed braid along the bottom row to make them the same size as the others, I added other bits to some of the other cards just to balance it. Actually I was quite please with my Faux Pas in the end.

Just finished watching the closing ceromeny of the winter olympics, such a lovely spectacle.
I must admit to not being a sports fan but I've really enjoyed these games, think its the snow and the dare devil sports, might take up skiing......as if!!
Awwww that giant teddy shedding a tear was soooooo sweet and sad at the same time

Ooh La La.......
Bonjour peeps back again with my card for the new challenge at Ooh La La Creations, just a smidge late, I seem to have no time these days, and tomorrow I have both of my Grandsons as its half term, that should be fun, I will be shattered. Just hope that the weather is better than today so that we can go out some where.
The theme this fortnight is......Fashionista. I have used the Passion for Fashion Cd. adding Frantage to the frame and image.

Sketch n Stash......
Morning peeps, hope you all had a lovely weekend, what a lovely surprise on Sunday......no rain just sunshine and lovely and warm. Mind you rain is due again later in the week. I managed to go to the trade show Stitches yesterday, I was originally going with hubby but he has an abscess on a tooth so I went for a couple of hours with my son. I think its time a painted a red cross on our door, we seem to be taking it in turns who is going to be ill next. I bumped into the lovely Brenda Brown, we were watching a demo by Finnabair on the Prima stand, her work is stunning and looks even better in the flesh so to speak. Loving all the new 12x12 stencils that they are going to be bringing out, along with some really useful mini stamps......better start saving.
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sketch n Stash. I made this card using papers from Papermania, whilst I was at the show, in fact Richard actually helped me with the paper piecing, it was really good spending the time with him having a chat about his work and having a craft, it did cost me dinner though.

Sugar Creek Hollow......
Hope you all got lots of love tokens from your loved ones, my Grandson Ethan got two Valentines.....they sure start early these days, my hubby brought me Jelly Babies and flowers.
Todays challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is.....Dreaming of the Beach, and with the dreadful weather we have had these past few months I think we are all dreaming of the beach and sunny days. I have used stamps and papers from Crafty Individuals, The main stamp CI-119 is painted with distress inks and then I have added Prismas to highlight, then I spritzed it with gold glimmer mist. The shells I picked up from lake Garda and the winkle one I brought in Amsterdam, right next to a sex shop, funny place for a shop that sold shells.
The shell corners are embossed in gold and again from CI.
the pocket is a folded tag so that the postcard can slip inside.
We have a Guest Designer joining us for this challenge and I hope you will feel Marie Svensson (a.k.a. Primia) feel welcome and pop over to her blog and check out all her vintage beauties.
Don't forget that we want to see your vintage /shabby chic creations

A Fine romance........
This month at Crafty Individuals I picked the theme for the challenge .......A Fine Romance. Jean asked us all to have a go at a step by step project so this is mine.
I have used a heart shape from Aspire but this project will work with any chip board shape.
I stamp the clock image CI-354 with Versamark and then embossed with fine gold embossing powder by Wow, I masked off the clock and then using Archival Potting Soil ink to stamp the tulip image CI-388, then I coloured the images and background of the heart with Pan Pastels.
I stamped CI-139 Queen of Hearts onto a piece of card suitable for water colouring with Potting Soil Ink again and coloured in the image using Tattered Rose, Tea Dye and Victorian Velvet distress inks, the background of the stamp was coloured in with Prismas pencils. Then I added some blue and white Frantage to the background.
I used a diamond stencil and stencilled parts of the heart with Imagination Sparkle Medium paste. Dry with a heat gun.
Fray a piece of cheese cloth fabric and arrange on the heart.
Using your finger or stencil brush to add Treasure Gold (I've used white fire) to the edges of the heart and stamped image.
Stick pearls around the inside edge of the image
Stamp three different size flowers from CI-206 Flower heads with versamark and emboss with ultra fine gold, colour the flowers with Pan Pastels then snip into two of the petals and glue slightly behind each other, curl the edges the flowers layer up the two larger flowers and stick below the main stamped image.

I've used white seam binding for the bow which I coloured using Tattered Rose Distress ink spritzed with water for a softer look, then add a heart button.

Crafty Individuals......
Evening peeps, wow we had snow today the big fluffy stuff as well but too wet to settle, so we all decided to go shopping for spring clothes .......well I'm forever hopeful that we will eventually get some sun. Taking my Grandson Zachary shopping is a bit of a marathon as he wants to go in the opposite direction to all of us, mind you he does enjoy the trip to the cafe for coffee and cake, well we have coffee he has squash.
Over at Crafty Individuals they have just released some great stamps and I have had to have a play with them already, check out these great chunky tag images. Nice ones for those difficult male cards.

I just had to have a play with the Wishes and manuscript stamps, I wanted to create a page from a book so I used Gold ink and brown to create the page and then used White Fire Treasure gold for the edges of the page. I also used the Gothic door image CI- 249 with the sentiment popping through one of the open doors. I then used copper fine embossing powder from Wow for the crown, the background paper is also from CI, check out all the new stamps here.
Stay dry and safe

Floral Garden Collection......
Back again today to show you another card made with one of the toppers from the new Garden Floral Collection Cd from the guys at Kraftyhands, I've used another hydrangea topper with cherub papers from the Cd. The show starts at 11.00am today on Create and Craft, so tune in to see lots of gorgeous samples from the rest of the team. Totally addicted to Frantage so everything gets a sprinkle of it these days. This hydrangea image is also available in pink as well as lots of other gorgeous floral designs.
have a fabbie day
Kraftyhands.....
Morning to you all, first of two posts from me today, firstly thank you for all your lovely comments, had a bit of a shock yesterday when the doctors phoned to ask me to go into the surgery to discuss my blood test results, I have been referred for a scan now, at least I'm going to get a good MOT from the various departments. I did ask lots of questions this time as I'm getting a little anxious.
Oh well onto this months challenge at Kraftyhands the theme this month is .......Spring flowers, and boy do we need Spring to arrive with some dry warm days. I have made a stepper card from The Garden Steps Cd featuring these love Auricula flowers.

Garden Floral.....
Morning peeps, phew another week of storms and still more to come, the weather forecast said 3 times worse than yesterday, when will it end. I can't image how those poor people are that are flooded out and no sign of it ending. Although we live near a small river it never gets that high to cause flooding thank goodness.
The launch of the new Cd from the guys at Kraftyhands is tomorrow at 11.00am on Create and Craft, the new Cd is called The Floral Garden Collection and is full of gorgeous floral designs including step cards, toppers ad papers. Hydrangeas are one of my favourite flowers, I love the varied shades on the petals which is why I chose one the topper tags to play with, I've used a Marianne die and added frantage to it.
