Polkadoodle.........

Morning peeps firstly thank you all for your kind  and supportive comments about my daughter, shes back home and resting if that is at all possible with a 3 year old, but hes great for cuddles, secondly whats happened to the weather, rained all day on Thursday, yuk......don't like the wet stuff and thirdly I went for a health check that the local docs invited me to, and apart from having slightly raised cholesterol  I'm not in too bad a shape .......lol, she gave me a diet sheet telling me which foods to avoid but when I said I worked for Thorntons she said that was ok because the chocolates are yummy, although I've got a slight feeling that they are on the foods to avoid list.
Anyway todays card is similar  to last weeks card in as much that I've used the same sweet image from Wee Stamps called Silver Fairy. I've gone for similar colours again, I tend to use the same colours for a time before I move onto the next ones, I'm like that with food I'll have the same sandwich for dinner for weeks until I get fed up with it......I guess I'm just weird.!!!! don't all agree at once please.
The papers are from the Polkadoodle Cd Magical winter part 1, I lurvvvvve these grey lilac colours and are perfect for any occassion. The theme this week for the Polkadoodle challenge is mythical creatures so you can join in with your faries, unicorns, dragons etc.I've made a shaker card, not done one of these before, I used a lovely vintage chunky glitter for the inside and the flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. So don't forget to join in the fun this week.

Morning...... gosh its dark this morning, not looking forward to the dark mornings and early evenings apart from anything its so hard to get good light to photograph finished pieces, I spent the weekend re-arranging my craft room again after another trip to Ikea I brought some wooden drawer units that are just begging to be altered, I want to find some 12x12 paper storage preferably the trays but can't find any anywhere so if anyone can help please can you let me know. I'm hoping when I go to the NEC that someone might do storage.....that doesn't break the bank.....lol. Todays card is one I made having a play on Sunday, one of the challenges this week is faces so I started off masking and layering a couple of Gison girl images and misted the background, then started adding images from Crafty Individuals, the background paper is from Graphic 45, I hate cutting up these but if I don't I won't have any excuse to buy more.......lol. i did use the border of the paper to make the ribbon band so nothings wasted.I love the lace which is from Kaisercraft, a real deep vintage colour, yum yum.Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Autumn/Halloween........

Evening peeps what a glorious day today although a smidge cold, might have to get my coat out soon, usually the hot flushes keep me warm......lol, I have had an inky play today using lots of techniques to create this Autumn/Halloween card, I started with a paper from Bearly designs and added extra distressing to the edges, the pumpkin doiley was sent to me by Diann at Dianns art spot......thank you so much. The pumkin label is a download that I added Picket Fence stain to.....love the effect you get and oh so easy to achieve as well as distressing the edges with Walnut Stain. The other pumpkin I embossed with Ultra thick embossing crystals, I then crumpled the embossed image to get cracks in it and again I used walnut Stain to rub in the cracks for a more aged look. The leaves were created by glimmer misting paper with oranges and greens and then I used one of the freebie stamps that you get on the front of The Craft Stamper magazine to stamp on this, embossing part of the inked image with Copper embossing powder from Wow.The little girl image was stamped onto tissue paper and then using Claudine Helmuths matt multi medium to stick it down, this then becomes see through so you can see part of the background.

The papers are from Polkadoodles and Elusive images now Chocolate Baroque. Swirls are Marianne dies, flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts. They have so much scrummy stamping stuff you'll need a day to choose
and they've included free shipping.

I have never coloured  a life like face before so I was nervous about doing this one.....but not one to be put off a challenge I had a go, the results were better than I thought they would be, I used Prisma Pencils adding bling with Stickles and Glamour dust. Morning peeps I'm feeling a whole better this morning, trouble is I've lost a day of crafting after sleeping for most of yesterday and I slept all night, anyway I'm awake now and its Friday and that means another challenge at Polkadoodles, this weeks theme is Handmade Flowers, a nice easy one for you to join in with, sorry another card from the Pretty Sweet Cd from Polkadoodles but I do so love these images.....all girly, the image I've used is called Maddie and the papers are from the same Cd, lots of scrummy shabby designs to choose from and oh so pretty......however for all you boy image lovers, I've heard a rumour !!! As you can see I kept the colour palette simple to just three colours in lovely pastel hues, adding pearls to the centres of the flowers. The image was coloured using a combo of Flex markers and Prisma pencils. Afternoon peeps well I can honestly say I have slept most of the day today, I have a thyroid problem and its a real pain as some days I am so tired  and all my joints ache, I can hardly stand up and today was one of those days, which is why I slept most of the day and I'll probably sleep all night, perhaps I'm turning into a dormouse.....lol.
Todays card is a shabby autumn card, the image is actually from a spring image from a Polkadoodle Cd called A Sundae of Seasons, I loved the picket fence which I coloured and then added crackle glaze to and distressed with Tea Dye ink. The flowers were coloured with Prismas, I added glossy accents to the buttons in the centre. The papers are from My Mines Eye......'my beautiful world', I love the gorgeous shabby colours, I did add a colour wash of Picket Fence over the top as well just to distress the papers a smidge more, and there's not any glitter on it.....now thats a first for me.Oh well back to work tomorrow for hopefully I'll stay awake mind you I'm seriously thinking of puttting a sofa in my office come tearoom so have a power nap on in my lunch break.....I'll need an alarm clock to wake me though.....lol.

All tied up.....

Evening peeps, another lovely day but we can expect snow next week so the rumour goes......lol, I had Ethan today, when he arrived at 8.00am this morning i was sweeping up leaves, such a thankless job as there seems to be as many leaves left as when you first started, after I had gathered a large pile of them Ethan stood in the middle throwing  them in the air......such fun, he then got his play lawn mower out to try and mow them up.We spent a lovely day playing tents and hopping around on a space hopper, then we went to the local soft play area and slid down slides and climbed and walked across ropes.......my knees are killing me now.......lol.
This is a card that I made as a sample for Polkadoodles, the image and papers are from the Magical Winter Cd part 1. I love the papers as they remind me of brown paper.I have crimped the panel for added dimension and used string to tie around the panel adding a snowflake using one of the dies from Marianne, just had to add lots of glamour dust for the snow and icicles, the image has been coloured with Prismas and blended with Sansador.

Stamp out......

Just read a letter by Mo Manning on her blog about stamping out image theft.......pop over here to read it. I am so behind her on this,it really annoys me when anyone steals whether its images, films, and video games, I know from what my son does and how long it takes him to create something to be used in a game......Hours and hours, and then someone comes along and doesn't see why they shouldn't just download it for themselves and not pay.....its THEFT and if  you stole a product from a shop you would be prosecuted. Without artists in any category there would be no entertainment, whether its reading, watching a film, playing a video game, colouring in an image for a card.......Ok thats my rant over for the morning
Hope you all have a great day
