Sugar Creek Hollow.........

Morning peeps today I normally show a card for the challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow but the regular teamies are having a week off, however there is still a challenge this week, past design team members have got together for this weeks challenge which is ........you'll have to click here to find out......ok I'll tell you its WE ARE FAMILY.

Yesterday I spent the day crafting at the Great British Craft festival, we did 4 workshops working with Hunkydory Craft products......which I have to confess I don't ussually buy as I love to colour and create, one of the workshops was with IndigoBlu using the gilding flakes with their glue as well as using Pan Pastels........now this was the wokshop I was really looking forward to but it was by far the messiest, my fingers turned green and very sticky......not a good combination. I love the blending effects of the pastels but you need to fix afterwards as they transfer, not sure if I will be getting into these as they are rather messy, but at least I've had a play and satisfied my curiosity. The day went by so quick and was thoroughly enjoyable as we were all well looked after with plenty of tea and coffee and a lovely buffet lunch, then at the end of the day they gave us a goody bag which contained enough Christmas goodies to make about 100 cards......I kid you not.
Today I'm going back to the show as its SHOPPING day, today and tomorrow.......yayyyyyyyyy!!!. sorry getting abit carried away as I really don't need anything but it would be rude not to go.

Thought I'd show a Christmas card that I made using images and papers from the new Polka Doodles Here comes Christmas Cd, I layered up the letters for more depth, but this was a real nice and easy card to make after all the manipulation I did in gimp.

In memory.......

The card I'm showing today is a card I made for my Brother in law for when his mum passed away. On Wednesday my Aunt passed away at the grand age of 99 so this post is in memory of the three family members that we have lost in the past few weeks.

Shirley.......Mum to Paul (brother in Law)
Audrey.......Grandma to Lee (my daughters partner) and Great Grandma to Ethan.
Marian......Aunt to me
Lost but never forgotten, you will all be in all our hearts forever.
God Bless.

I didn't want to make a traditional Sympathy card and  I thought that this was so pretty. The image is from the Ooh La La Creations Fleur D'Imagination Cd.
Thank you for all your lovely comments in my previous posts they mean so much to me but I would appreciate if you didn't leave a comment on this one, but thank you for taking the time to look......just feeling abit sad at the moment.
hugs and best wishes x

Crafty Individuals.......

Morning peeps thought I'd share with you a card and box that I made with the new elephant stamp from Crafty Individuals I  wanted to capture a rich asian feel to the card  and box so I used purple bling and rich coloured papers and lace to complete the look. The box started life as a box of chocs.....no I didn't eat the contents cos I don't like champagne ones. I glimmer misted the background paper then heat embossed in silver the paisley design stamp for the side of the box adding purple gems, I used a purple promarker to colour in the design. the main image on the card was coloured with Promarkers

Grandson day today so I think I will be kept busy playing
hugs and best wishes

Sketch n Stash...........

Morning peeps hope you all had a wonderful weekend, bit of a blur again for us as we went to visit my Aunt again in hospital but it was a sad journey as we had to say our goodbyes to her. The doctor has only given her a few days now so I know that that will be the last time we see her but at least my Mum got to say her goodbyes as well......on a brighter note though she made 99 years and was as sharp as a pin, living in her own home, an inspiration to the rest of the family.

Today sees the start of another challenge at Sketch n Stashand the sketch this week is by Julie.

My Mums Crafts shop have kindly donated £10

For my card I have used an image from Saturated Canary, which was a freebie and oh so pretty, I have used papers from First Edition and coloured the image in with Prismas.........must get my paints out but I find it so relaxing just colouring in with my grown up crayons........lol. My old stash are my flowers and the newest is my image and liquid pearls which I had never used before but I do like the effect that you get with the different sizes that you can create, just don't think I'd manage to get three looking the same though.

I am sorry for not getting around many blogs again this week but I do appreciate all of your lovely comments and they have certainly kept me going .......many thanks to to all.

Sugar Creek Hollow.....

Afternoon peeps what a lovely sunny week we are having, perfect for the Olympics. We had lots of lovely entries for last weeks challenge, so for this week at Sugar Creek Hollow the theme is Vintage travel, for my card I used Paris stamps which are by Dark Room Door and the car is from Chocolate Baroque, I have used Prismas for the colouring of all the images.Just loving the new dies from Marianne but I must admit its quite hard to get a good cut on the larger die, think I will have to get one of the metal shims to see if that helps.

Vintage Sewing.........

Mornning peeps, its my turn to post over at Studio 12 today so I thought I'd share with you a vinatge/shabby chic sewing card with you that I made using elements from The sewing section on the Picknix Cd,just loving the background paper for this however I did cover the line of lace over with the measuring tape, lifting it in places for a more dimensional look,I cut out the clothes hanger and looped over the top the sentiment piece so that it looks like a hanging piece of cloth, I added a ruched up frill to the body form as well as buttons and a bow to complete.

Sewing mini album.....

Morning peeps I have finally got round to showing you the mini album that I made a few weeks back with Lin who had LB Crafts, it was lovely to go to a class again, just to indulge, natter and drink copious amounts of tea. We got to play with the new stamps from Paper Artsy, the stamp plates are so detailed, trouble would be picking a set to buy, I must admit they have brought out another since so I have my eye on that one when I go to a show......talking of shows is anyone going to the new show at Castle Donnington next week, I have booked the full day of classes on the Friday and then I'm going to go on the Saturday for a bit of a shop, if anyone fancies meeting up for a coffee and a natter let me know.

Getting back to my mini album we started off by making a master board which included painting wth Fresco Artsy paints and then using masks to stipple through more colour, afterwards I cut the board up and used the pieces for the background for the collage of images then adding embellishments to finish. All of the images have been coloured with Prismas, rather than blending with Sansador I have just added layers of colour with the pencils which blend with themselves.

Challenges
Craft Room .....fashion (corset).
Papertake......anything goes.
Simon Says.....paint it up.

Have a fabbie day

Ooh La La Creations.......

Morning peeps well that's the weekend over and I got up with  a.......I'm having a chill out day on Sunday, however I found out Saturday evening that my aunt was very ill in hospital and lives quite a long way away, I knew that my Mum might not get the chance to see her sister again so I phoned my sis and we all decided to go up to visit her.......she's 99 years old but she is as sharp as a pin, even remebering that it was my sisters birthday today although she's has been very poorly and wasn't expected to pull through, but knowing what a fighter she is we are all praying that we get to celebrate her 100th birthday next year with her.

Today card is for this weeks challenge at Ooh La la, the theme is Oriental, instead of going for a more traditional image I chose Magnolias which are an oriental flower, the sentiment was a free stamp with the Craft Stamper Magazine, I have to admit I don't know what it says .......The image and paper are on the Fleur d'imagination Cd.

Challenges
Make it Monday.....mondays card.
Craft Your Passion......anything goes.
Lollipop Crafts.....monochromatic.

Afternoon peeps .....its Saturday the weekend and time to put your feet up or if you're like me you're at work, never mind there is always Sunday for some time off although at the moment I am helping my daughter decorate the nursery in readiness for the arrival of my new Grandson......he's not due till December but I think my daughter has got the nesting instinct, the hard part is stopping Ethan helping out, there is more paste on the floor than there is on the paper, but he insists on helping get his baby brothers room ready ......awwwww it's so sweet.

For today challenge at Sugar creek hollow we have a Something Old and Something new theme for you but don't forget to make it Vintage or Shabby Chic or it won't count. I have used Paper that I have had for ........at least a couple of years and forgot all about them they are by The Paper Cellar, and for my new item its the clock stamp from Crafty Individuals.I actually cut the border from another sheet of the same paper and layered it up and the delish coloured lace if all the way from Switzerland. I've actually made this card for my little Sis whose birthday it is tomorrow, luckily she doesn't read my blog so she won't see it.....I hope.

The title of the lady stamp is Dancing till One O'clock
I stamped and embossed the clock with London Fog Memento ink and clear
embossing powder and layered up the Roman Numerals(which are also included with the stamp)

Image colured in with Prismas and the dress is coloured in with Promarkers

I have added diamantes to the centre of the flowers
