Mixed media scrap LO......

Morning to all my fellow blogging friends, hope you all had a lovely weekend, I went to Milton Keynes on Sunday for a spot of Christmas shopping, I must say I'm disappointed with the lack of festive decorations, no one seems to make any effort these days despite the fact that the shops are fighting for our custom. I will be putting our trees up next weekend so I'm looking forward to that.
I thought I would share with you a mixed media lay out that I did at a scrap a few weeks back with Morag Cutts, when I got home I added all of the flowers and got out my Treasure gold for a smidge more bling.

lots of gesso, embossing powders, stamping, stencilling and layers,
I thoroughly enjoyed doing this as I did a few techniques I've not done before.

getting busy at the chocolate shop now, just three more Saturdays
to go before the big day.
Time to open the advent calendar

Keeeeeep Dancin'

Morning to all my fellow crafty bloggers, hope you all had a fabbie weekend, I ended going to a train show with my son which I hadn't really planned on, I was hoping to get some curtains hemmed and hung but it was not to be, but they will wait till another day.
Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sketch n Stash, we have two sponsors for this challenge.
I just love this new stamp from LOTV, only because I'm a strictly fan, love all the bling and glam of the show, my parents were professional ballroom dancers but I never learnt, due to hubby having two left feet and was unteachable......bless him.
The image was coloured in with Prismas with Frantage around the image, and the papers are from First Edition.

Vintage Christmas......

Afternoon to you all, hope you are enjoying the start of the weekend, I'm at work today and it's the light switch on in our town so it should be quite busy as Christmas shopping gets under way.
Todays challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow is Vintage Christmas so we would love to see your vintage/shabby chic Christmas projects. I have used one of the new stamps from Crafty Individuals CI 421.

I coloured in the image with Distress pens and added white puff embossing powder for the snow, I then embossed over the image in clear twice, popped it in the freezer for a few minuets which forms cracks when cold, then I rubbed tea dye distress ink over it which gives it the more vintage look

It seems ages since I last blogged, I'm working on an album at the moment which I'm totally addicted to doing at the moment, so I get up early in the mornings to complete a page before getting ready for work
Have a great weekend

Emporium of Curiosities.....

Morning to you all, don't know about you but I'm starting to panic a smidge with Christmas fast approaching and time flying, I haven't even started to think about making cards or shopping really......still a few weeks to go but at work it goes into manic mode so I like to get all mine done before December.
I haven't had that much time to craft either, so todays card is one I made a little while back ready for the launch of the Emporium of Curiosities cd from the guys at Kraftyhands which you can find here.Love the vintage elements on this Cd as well as the scrummy background papers.

better go and get ready as my Grandson Zachary will be flying through the door any minuet and he's a handful to say the least

Sketch n Stash.....

Morning to you all, hope you had a fabbie weekend, I went to the Nec with my son for a crafty day out yesterday, he comes with me to my shows and I go to the shows that he likes which are usually model trains. This time he spent more money than I did as he brought a light with magnifier as well as paint brushes for all his model making. I managed to get in to a couple of workshops whist I we were there which were fun.

I managed to make this card before nipping off to the show, talk about last minute. com.Ready for this fortnights challenge at Sketch n Stash, I have used the CI 320 Floral Bird Cage  fromCraft Individuals coloured in with a combination of Prismas and water colour pens.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, the theme this fortnight is .......Recycling/ repurposing. I have painted and decorated a wooden spoon. The image on the spoon as well as the stamped image are from Crafty Individuals CI 389 called Tea at Three. The stamped image I coloured in with twinkling H20 paints, haven't used these in ages. Emporium of Curiosities.....

Evening peeps, a bit of a late post from me today, I have been busy all week changing the shop over in readiness for Christmas and it has taken me quite awhile to do so along with the rest of the team, I've spent most of the afternoon in the shop window putting up a Christmas tree.
Today saw the launch of a new Cd from the guys at Kraftyhands called  Emporium of Curiosities. You can find it on the British Network Channel. Here is one of the cards that I have made from one of the card sets on the Cd.

there are a lot of elements that you can layer up in the card sets, including the buttons which look very realistic, I used embossing powder on the circular topper, and I used frantage on the butterfly topper.

Have a great week, I'm looking forward to the weekend when I get to go to the NEC, I must be good though as I have a room of stash that is waiting to be still used.

Patchwork sewing.......

Morning to all my fellow crafty bloggers, hope you are having a relaxing weekend, I am, I'm having a crafting weekend again, this time with Hels Sheridan at Dasiy Jewels Crafts. Yesterday we made a patchwork sewing themed frame and today it's a project using the melt pot, so it should be another fun filled day.
We started off making a patchwork background using sewing themed stamps, which is something I hadn't done before, I thought at first it would look really cluttered but like most crafting projects its came together at the end. I don't usually do blues and greens but I love this colour combo. I used Broken china and chipped sapphire as the blues and then peeled paint and forest moss with antique paper, vintage photo and gathered twigs. Stamps are from Wendi Vecchi and Kaisercrafts.
After we finished the background and made the frame the fun part began with adding all the bits, which is always the longest part. I managed to finish the last bit this morning as I hate leaving project half finished,

have a great day

Halloween ball........

Afternoon peeps, hope you have all enjoyed your extra hour in bed today, trouble is now it will be dark in the afternoon which I don't like, I decided to use my extra hour to do some bed linen changing, three beds later and a mountain of ironing I finally put my feet up at 4:00pm, what a numpty I am to do a such a mammoth task. Just a reminder that you still have a few days left to enter the challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme is Halloween Madness or Christmas Frenzy, I have made a card using four stamp sets to create this Halloween ball card.
The image was coloured in with distress ink pens. I stamped the lace and embossed with a dark purple embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer, when you move the card the colour changes. I stamped the lady dancing twice and put one image over the top of the clock image.

Stamps used CI 346, Dancing Until 1:00pm
CI 339, Hickory Dickory Dock

Butterfly Botanicals.......

Evening to you all, hope you have a great weekend,we have a real mixed bag of weather this week, torrential rain followed by warm sun, my flowers are thinking it might be spring and are starting to bud up again. This card is another from the Butterfly Botanicals Cd from Kraftyhands. I have used the purple and gold colour theme again, all of the elements I have used are from the card set section on the cd, including the vintage map of England. I have added frantage in purple and gold to the border of the main image of the butterflies.

Went to a scrap crop today and got really messy with paint and inks, Morag Cutts was our tutor and her Lay Outs are always a treat, learnt so much, layering up lots of different elements, just got to finish them off now.
