Demo Tag

As you know I spent some time yesterday at LB Crafts watching the very talented Lin Brown doing a demo using a new product by Crafty Notions......a  matte white spray paint, she showed us the swipe on technique using 3 distress ink colours straight onto the tag and then spray the tag with the white paint.....I think I should have applied more as I got splash marks, but they add to the overall effect. I then stamped the image with forest moss first and then again in black, the grass stamp is from Paper Artsy .....Hot Picks these are so fab, the other distress ink colours I used were scattered straw and dried marigold.

 I then used gold shimmer wax for around the edge of the tag which I then mounted onto another piece of card which was distressed and stamped in the same inks as the tag. lining the tag up with the stamped image underneath....just did't add the white paint on this. The corrugated Kraft card was spritzed in irridescent gold glimmer mist.....gotta have a smidge of bling, the gold metal sentiment is from the same hot pick range...Secret Garden HP1005.
The challenge at Praire Fairy is a colour one...Orange/yellow with green and brown. Also the challenge at Pile it on is called 'Eat your veggies' and is open to interpretation....peas, cabbage and carrots spring to mind as well as spinach, brocoli etc...as they are all shades of greens and orange. Summer Delights is the challenge at Cupcake this week.

Morning fellow bloggers......how stupid am I? ok I know pretty stupid, the only day I get to have a lie in and I get up even earlier than normal.....it must have the excitement of being able to have a lie in that did it ....I was too excited to sleep..... lol ...either that or I'm stupid....I got up at 6.00a.m. I'll probably be asleep later on, mind you my son did not get up yesterday till 2.00p.m I think he'd still be in bed if I hadn't banged on his door to waken him.........he said he's having a rest for a few weeks now he's finished Uni, well his words were a couple of years .....is he having a laugh !!!!!!!!! or what.
So here is my earlier DT card for todays challenge at Its a Crafters Companion....I was up early making this card but in fact its late as I should have it done before today. The image has been coloured with the usual Sakura pens and lots of glamour dust as the challenge this week is a recipe...re-cycle either magazine/newspaper, add 3 buttons and lots of glitter, hadn't got any newspaper or magazine so I used the page of an old book instead. Papers are a digi down load called Patchwork Plum which are on offer today as they have 25% off normally £2.50 ....you get lots to play with as well, these are from Cuddly Buddly.

Male Card

Not long got back from LB. Crafts they are having a sale and demo day today....love the work using the crafty Notions white Matte spray that Lin did a demo with....super cool, Linda was also there doing a demo on her grunge roses, you know the lady thats counting down to going to Ranger U who adores Lord Tim of Holtz.......in betwwen watching the demos I still managed to spend far too much money, should keep me going for at least a couple of weeks apart from the necessary purchase of at least a couple of the new LOTV...and I'm sure I'll think of a few other must haves as well, at least when I'm on holiday in a few weeks time I can't order anything...or can I!!!!!

Just wanted to say hi to Annette who I met today at the shop.....we chat alot via our blogs but have never met until today.....so .....HI ANNETTE....hope you didn't spend too much but looking at you basket like me you probably did.....

I started this tag card yesterday but due to a headache that lasted 3 days I had to stop, so before setting off to Olney this morning I finished it......Image is another one of the cars from B Line (4 in the set) stamps, the sentiment is from Crafty Individuals as is the clock face which I popped into a crushed bottle top and then added glossy accents and the crackle stamp in the background, the image of the men is from Graphic 45. The post card was distressed using chipped sapphire and bundled sage with a spritz of gold perfect pearls.

Sitting fairy#3

Another DT card for Cuddly buddly and I think this my favourite so far, I coloured the image with distress inks and added glitter stickles to the wings and the centres of the flowers, I think it has a country/vintage look although I didn't start out with that in mind....I love the gingham background, I added a round tag as the sentiment which is the theme at Pixie Cottage this week. The challenge at Charisma is going around in circles, well not literally just use circles.Simon Says have a colour challenge this week....use Pink or Blue with green and brown. Sentiment from Cuddly Buddly as are the papers, the gems are from papermania.Sewing is the theme at Polka Doodles,

Fairy on Tip toes

Evening fellow bloggers, today is another challenge over at Lily of the Valley and there is a fab sketch to follow, I coloured this image a few weeks back and never got round to using it, I was playing around with ochre and purple....used Sakura pens and twinkling h20's to colour the image, papers are from Papermania, pearls from Hobby House, the lace is from Stash and the flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts.

Fairy........

Morning fellow bloggers....ok who pinched the sun, looking grey out there today, oh well never mind at least I can give my arm a rest from serving ice cream lol. Today I've got a couple of DT cards that I have been working on for Cuddly Buddly to share with you.....sitting fairy which is a digi, there are a few in this series I think shes kinda cute with a smidge of attitude, the papers are Patchwork in Plum....there are quite a few colourways to choose from and me being a pink/lilac person chose plum, I have so got to have a colour change or you'll get fed up viewing my cards, I must say though I was well impressed with the designs for these papers as there are so many in the download.
Fairy image has been coloured with the usual h20's, sakura, and lots of glamour dust, the butterfly edge punch is by Martha Stewart, couldn't make my mind up about which buttons to use so my son who was standing over my shoulder at the time said use one of each.....so I did.

Vivid greetings

Sorry no card yesterday but today is the start of a new challenge at My Time To Craft......this week the challenge is Vivid Greeting, I must admit I do not have any large greeting stamps so I went with a bright coloured card using one of the Cuddly Buddly new digi images called Sky High Greetings. Coloured with twinkling h20's and lots of glamour dust for extra bling. I cut out a balloon shape and tied a red ribbon to it and put the greeting on top of that layering them up to get some dimension, the greeting is also from Cuddly Buddly and again is available as a digi down load.......this is great I think, as now you can get your hands on lots of different greetings at the cost of 99p, so I should never have the problem again of not being able to get the right greeting for my cards......

Other challenges are
Oh La La.......Bright and cheerful.
Lots to do.......flourishes and or swirls, mine are the swirls of ribbon.

What a scorcher

Just got back from Drayton Manor......haven't been for a few years so all we got to go round Thomas Land with Ethan, its fun going with a small one as you get to go on all the kiddie rides, the sky has been a perfect blue today without a cloud in it and we don't get many of those so that means ice cream, and it makes a change not to be serving it....just eating it. Now my grandson takes this very seriously as this pic shows and like most children he gets it everywhere......yum yum.

Sunday morning crafting

Got up early today as the sun was shining so I took my cuppa up to my carft room and made this card before we all go to Drayton Manor theme park for the day.....better take the sun cream as it looks as if its gonna be a scorcher, think we'll have to head for all the wet rides to cool down.....just hope its not rammed. The image is from Cuddly Buddly....Sky high greetings, as is the paper. Have kept the card simple, no glitter in sight any where .....must be heat stroke, oh forgot to tell you yesterday at work I must have sold over 200 ice creams I managed to get it all over me as usual.....my arm sure ached.
right back to the card.....I do wander sometimes, its an age thing lol.Coloured the image with twinkling h20's and kept to a simple colour pallette.

60th Birthday Day Card

Its the 60th birthday of the boss that my husband works for next week, so I thought I'd make him a card......might score some brownie points. Quite getting into making male cards now. I kinda followed the theme of a shadow box, as the challenge at Ink on my fingers is Red and Hels has made a lovely shadow box as her project. I started off with a 5x5ins piece of card and cut it up using the car image as the focal point. The pieces were distressed with the following colours: Fired Brick,Tattered Rose,Aged Mahogany and victorian velvet and some of them were spritzed with gold perfect pearls......gotta have a smidge of bling.

 I used the following stamps for the collage: Words are from the venice collection by Dark Room Door, the car is from B Line, the quote and the stamp are from Paper Arsty (hot picks) and the rest are from Crafty Secret clear art stamps......these are my faves at the moment.....just love the minature music stamp except the clock face which is from Crafty Individuals.

Birthday wishes

Hiya.....just back from our weekly garden centre visit with Ethan and my mum and I'm totally pooped out, mind you its gone overcast and thundery here so that makes you tired...who am I kidding its running after my grandson. He had a chocolate ice cream today....shh don't tell my daughter as I'll be in trouble, you should have seen his face it was covered but he managed to eat all of it, just had to use a dozen wet wipes to clean him up afterwards.

Todays card is from a cuddly buddly image called Sky High Greetings you can find it here only costs 99p....bargain as are all of the images that Kim does. The image is painted in Sakura pens and twinkling H20's, the papers are also a download called Miss Daisy Spring 2 just lovin the shades of pink and aqua. The flower centres have diamantes in from Papermania.

Lilac Period

I have decided I am going through a Lilac period.....as I am totally addicted to them as well as the colour, most of my cards have all been coloured or featured Lilacs and todays card is no exception, the lovely Kim from Cuddly Buddly sent me this Lilac digi image to play with, now that I have discovered that I can print onto watercolour paper I set about painting it in with twinkling H20's now there is no added glitter on this image so don't all faint, I did add little diamantes to the centre of the raised flower heads. The papers are again the digi images from Bits of Ivory you can find them here, I crimped the striped paper for added dimension, quite like the effect, pearls are from the Hobby House and lace is from stash that has to be 15 years old.....

Lilacs in Jug

I have really got the bug doing these cards featuring lilacs, the papers are available here, I just love the shades of the papers, they have a vintage feel to them, I have added crackle rock candy to the jug to give it a cracked glaze effect, the background of the image has been spritzed with irridescent gold, I punched the flower out of one of the images of the sprays of lilac, to get a more detailed flower and then edged it with stardust stickles.

 lace as been added underneath the border as well as the sentiment, all of the edges of the papers has been torn and distressed with purple concord and then machine stitched to give it a more vintage feel. Diamantes are from Papermania Henbury lane .....they're nearly all gone and I've only just got them.

Hidden message

Morning.....the sun is shining that can only mean one thing serving lots of ice cream today, I get in such a mess with it esp. the chocolate one for some reason and before you ask no I'm not dipping my fingers in accidently.

 Today sees the start of another challenge at........ Its a crafters companion challenge, today we want you to follow the sketch include a secret message and use the colours brown, blue and one other colour. I used green and the floral paper was out of the complete cardmaker spring special.....they do some lovely papers in their magazines. The other brown paper I stamped paw prints and the word woof on in sepia brown. Image coloured as always with sakura and twinkling h2o's. Have you checked out those new Popcorn babies yet they are soooo sweet, will have to get some of those!!

I distressed the edges with stormy sky.....lovin' this colour blue. Ribbon and buttons are from stash. Crazy for challenges have the theme of a card with a pocket, and our creative corner challenge this week is a male card.....not sure if this is too cute for a male card.Cute card Thursday theme is ....Someone special. Spoonful of sugar, is 3 papers and 3 buttons, green backing,floral and brown.

Fairy Wishes

Morning fellow bloggers well so far no rain so I might just potter in the garden later and plant up my tubs of flowers as so far this year I have neglected my poor garden and its in need of some TLC, my son has just had his final exam at uni. and has nowh has got to join the world of workers, it doesn't seem 5 mins since we were going round looking at the university, he's finally made his mind up that he want to go into gaming but on the 3D art side rather than the computer programming although he learnt this as part of his degree, seems quite funny really as he showed no sign of artistic leaning as he was growing up.

Well my card today is a fairy/butterfly card as there seems to be quite a few challenges this week featuring wings, butterflies and fairies so I decided to combine all 3 just to be different, the previous week I won the challenge at Simon Says and got to spend $25 so I chose the butterfly punch from Martha Stewart and some art stamps which included the butterfly wing which arrived by post yesterday.

The background paper is a digi paper from Cuddly Buddly.....part of the lilac images I've been playing with, I distressed the diamond paper and then glimmer misted it to add depth of colour, the flowers I punched out and then painted to match the flowers in the image.....which is from Crafty Individuals. The wing was stamped onto acetate and then coloured in with glitter at the back to get a shimmer......you know me I do love my glitter and shimmer.

I have combined a few challenges with this card, the paper is from the new papermania collection Henbury Lane as are the flower  gem centres, the image is from Pink Gem, the monthly challenge at Gem of a challenge is a colour theme..... use the colours Pink, Green and Burgundy. The sketch that I followed is from C.R.A.F.T. The challenge at Quixotic is...... DIY flowers. Stampavie have the colour theme of..... Pink. Flowers are also the theme at Praire Fairy.

Ahoy there.......

Todays card is another digi image from Kim at Cuddly Buddly, this is great for both boys and girls, the papers are also another digi paper and can be found here. I have coloured the image in with sakura pens and used glamour dust for the sea and highlights. Kept the card very simple and just went with buttons and bow for the embellishments, and the swirls in the corner mimic waves. Just to rmind you that if you take your image to your local printer they should be able to print them on watercolour paper for you, I use 300grm Langton Water colour paper by Daler and print onto that so I can now use any painting medium with no ink bleeding......good as stamping, so you can more images for your money......yay!!!

Lilacs in May....

Thought I'd share with you another card that I made with the Lilacs, the digi image is available here, I made the folded frame to the card using distress inks to colour the back and then glimmer misted it in irr. gold, the lace was added to the back of the folded frame, I used rock candy stickles on the jug to give a little depth, the background papers are also from The Lilac collection as are the corners which I applied glossy accents to as well as stardust stickle to part of the spray of flowers, doesn't show to well in photo though,

The challenge at Stampin B this week is Botanical and the challenge at Tuesday Taggers is to step out of your comfort zone, well for me I've never done decoupage or used digi images as I've always stamped, so when I joined Cuddly Buddly I wanted to do things that I normally wouldn't try so hence the lilacs, which I have to say are def. growing on me esp. as Kim has now released a digi image of a spray of Lilac to colour at a mere 99p I will have to get that one...so watch this space.

What a busy day.....you can tell I'm getting better I have managed to make 2 cards ...well 1 of them I had started earlier but finished late last night. The image for this posting is the digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly called cheers, I coloured this one with distress inks ...its the first time that I have coloured a complete image with these inks, I have added highlights of gold and silver sakura to the champagne glasses for a smidge of bling, the edges of the image is stickles stardust and the edges of the flowers is glamour dust, the papers are also a digi down load from Cuddly Buddly.

Too Cute.....to have attitude

Morning....at least the sun is shining again today, I'm sure Sundays have less hours in than Mondays, so its back to work, thought I'd colour this sugar nellie manga stamp, I used  mostly cosmic shimmer on this image as I wanted vibrant peacock blues and greens, my DT card this week at MTTC is called Too Cute but I thinks shes too cute to have attitude. The papers are from Papermania purple capsule collection.

Recycled

After lunch I've had a play around with all the bits and pieces that I got left from last week I sprayed 3 flowers as well as other bits and bobs....as you do, and as you know I save all the scrap sheets of glimmer mist as they make fabbie flowers with a bit of bling.....

.....so today I cut out the piece that had the flowers masks on even though it has runny marks on it I think it adds to the interest. I know when I saw a demo using glimmer mists the lady blotted the paper after spritzing. I was agast what a waste.....I never do this as I love the puddle effects you get..... I stamped over the bare part of the paper with a floral outline stamp....from Papermania....got it ages ago and hadn't used it much up until now. I then stamped an additional 3 flowers the same from another srcap piece as well as 3 other style of flowers and then cut these out. Rather than placing the flowers I kinda dropped them in place and then tweeked.....hoping to create a more natural look. There are no rude words on the text paper as its a childrens book about a Princess.....do I read Italian...no but the picture on the front was a giveaway...La Piccola Principessa....the little princess, I started to study Italian for a year at college and had every intention of learning more but soon found out if you speak to someone they think you're fluent and rabbit off........stick to ordering a cappucino and an ice cream much safer.

Anyway back to the card the text paper was distressed with 4 inks and then spritzes with gold perfect pearls.....well a gal has got to try other things as well....lol. The swirl stamp is from the same set of stamps and before the ink drieds I sprinkled gold embossing powder on it.......I love the effect that you get doing this as its kinda ages it, if that makes sense. To cut a long story short the ticket is from Tim Holtz, as is the memo pin.

Morning .....at least I've managed to make a card for today although it was a struggle.....got a real bad head cold now, must be run down, def in need of  a holiday, I think they should be available on the NHS lol, have gone off chocolate so it must be bad and I've only just started to drink tea again and thats my fave tipple.Well for todays card I've used a WOJ stamp and coloured her in with Sakura pens added lots of sparkle with the help of glamour dust on the veil and stardust stickles around the edge of the card, added little diamantes inside the top of the roses,from Wild Orchid crafts, the die cut for the corner flourish  is from sizzlets and I added little dots of violet (Sakura) for added interest. The papers are from the new collection from Papermania called Henbury Lane, lush or what ........
