Wedding fever......

Well we all watched the wedding and ohhhed and ahhhed at the lovely couple so I thought I'm make a pariotic wedding card in red, white and blue, unfortunately I didn't have any Union Jack paper so had to make do with the papers I'd got, I even managed some recycling as the shimmery white paper was origianlly in the window in my shop at Christmas as part of the window display and I couldn't bear to thrown it so I salvaged some to use........I've gone overboard with the glitter as always but it is a celebartion, I've tried a new way of adding glitter to the design by using doubled sided sticky paper that I die cut and then rubbed on the glitter afterwards for a lovely shimmery effect. The image is from Lili of the Valley and I've had this stamp ages and ages and this is the first time I've inked it up.....shame on me! I coloured the horse with Prisma pencils and the rest of the image was coloured with....yep you guessed it Twinkling H20s with lots of bling using stickles Star Dust and Gold. I'm off for a few days now so I've got the garden still to finish, I need to dye my hair today as I look  like a badger (grey and black).....lol, its def. not a good look, I keep saying I'm going to grow out the coloured bit and go grey all over but my kids won't let me, I think its an age thing but I'm fed up keep colouring every 6 weeks or so and after doing that I'm going to have another play with my melt pot.

Christening card.....

Phew had a tiring but enjoyable day yesterday at Olney, it was the last class that I have booked this year and it was a metal art one which I was thrilled to bits with the finished piece but will have to wait until I have a day off to photograph it as its all metal and won't photograph so well with a flash. My sis. asked me to make a christening card for her, the name of the baby that is getting christened is Lily-Boo......how cute is that! So I decided to do an Easel card for her using the lovely stamp from Lili of the Valley, I used Sakura pens and distress inks to colour the image with star dust stickles for bling on the stitching and dress. The papers are from Papermania and the flowers are Wild Orchid craft roses.

Damask Card

I needed to come up with a DT card that had the theme Damask so I went through all my papers and then again but although I had quite a few it just wasn't happening for me, so I thought... have a play with misting sprays and make your own, most of this card developed from one experiment into another, the packing paper is vellum but the centre design and the strips are made from scratch. The centre circle is made from spritzing paper with gold and green and then I embossed the paper with the damask cuttlebug design and after that I embossed the raised part of the design in gold. The strips of background paper was made using the damask stamp from Papermania Chatsworth collection, stamped and embossed in Verdigris embossing powder which gives a lovely antique look. I then cut the piece of paper into 4 strips cut at different angles.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:
If the shoe fits......you have to use chipboard....the heart has been inked with Fired Brick and stamped with a music image and embossed in Black Soot The sketch that I have followed is from  Allsorts
Cooking it up with Katie....the theme is not your usual Valentine image, try a technique not done before....this was embossing onto of the dry embossed centre paper and finally follow a colour theme from another challenge...Paper Cutz is red green black and white I'm hoping that the splash of gold will be forgiven.Creative Inspirations have the theme of Anniversary card and I think this card fits that criteria. This months theme at Lily Boo is to make a valentine card Over at Gingersnap Creations they have the challenge to use embossing powders and being as the papers are hand stamped and embossed this definately fits the criteria Love is the theme at Polka Doodle
