Damask Card

I needed to come up with a DT card that had the theme Damask so I went through all my papers and then again but although I had quite a few it just wasn't happening for me, so I thought... have a play with misting sprays and make your own, most of this card developed from one experiment into another, the packing paper is vellum but the centre design and the strips are made from scratch. The centre circle is made from spritzing paper with gold and green and then I embossed the paper with the damask cuttlebug design and after that I embossed the raised part of the design in gold. The strips of background paper was made using the damask stamp from Papermania Chatsworth collection, stamped and embossed in Verdigris embossing powder which gives a lovely antique look. I then cut the piece of paper into 4 strips cut at different angles.

This card has been entered into the following challenges:
If the shoe fits......you have to use chipboard....the heart has been inked with Fired Brick and stamped with a music image and embossed in Black Soot The sketch that I have followed is from  Allsorts
Cooking it up with Katie....the theme is not your usual Valentine image, try a technique not done before....this was embossing onto of the dry embossed centre paper and finally follow a colour theme from another challenge...Paper Cutz is red green black and white I'm hoping that the splash of gold will be forgiven.Creative Inspirations have the theme of Anniversary card and I think this card fits that criteria. This months theme at Lily Boo is to make a valentine card Over at Gingersnap Creations they have the challenge to use embossing powders and being as the papers are hand stamped and embossed this definately fits the criteria Love is the theme at Polka Doodle

Sakura Pens

This is my first card painting with Sakura pens and I'm totally hooked, when I went to the NEC on Sunday I went to the workshop using the pens to colour with. I have had these pens for a while and just coloured in with them solidly but never used them as a medium for watercolouring, the lady who did the workshop (sorry I forgot her name) was fab she had a great sense of humour and we learnt alot, so now I'm hooked because they are so subtle and shimmer beautiful.

Materials used
Sakura pens
DCWV pink christmas papers
Stamp-Fairy from Craft Companions
Punch-snowflake from Woodware
gems and ribbon from stash.

I have enterd this card in the following challenges Sketch and Stash, love this sketch and the new stash I have used is my Christmas papers brought at the NEC. Cupcake have the theme of snow much fun, Cooking with Kate has the criteria of christmas sparkle and a border ( I inked and added sparkle as a border around the card)
