Sugar Creek Hollow......

Afternoon all......well here goes, today is my first day as a member of  the Sugar Creek Hollow design team, I was thrilled to be asked to join them as I love vintge as well as doing cute designs, so now  I have the perfect excuse for doing more vintage designs.

I appolgise for not getting round to any blogs last night but Ethans dad was taken into hospital with appendicitis, so after taking down one of the Christmas trees, bathing Ethan and putting him to bed I was totally pooped, you should have seen Ethan with one of my T shirts on pinned up to stop it falling off  because we weren't pepared for him to be stopping the night......he looked so sweet.

Happy New Year and welcome to our first challenge of 2012 at Sugar Creek Hollow. This week we want you to save some trees and RE-PURPOSE PAPER TOWELS, TOILET PAPER OR COFFEE FILTERS. Instead of buying some designer paper for your project, go to your kitchen or bathroom and grab one of the above items and let's see how you can transform it and incorporate it into your vintage, shabby chic or primitive card or other paper-crafted project.

This week one random winner will receive a digi of our choice and a winner's badge to display. In addition, the Design Team will choose one project as Card of the Week and the creator will receive a badge and will be in the running for a Guest Designer spot.

Our new Design Team is in place and everyone has worked hard to create some inspiration for you. If you want details on how they re-purposed the various items, click on their names to go directly to their blogs.

I have made the flowers on my card as well as the background with the text on from Kitchen paper, I spritzed a couple of sheets with Tuscan Sun, Vintage Rose and gold glimmer mists, I then heat dried them and used the Tim Holtz flower die to cut out several layers at the same time, I used the two smaller flower dies  it was a bit fiddly separating all the layers, (tip .....use a pokey tool to slide in amongst the layers ) I added brads from Basic Grey to the centres of the flowers. The text stamp is from The Artistic Stamper and I used a deep purple, I then stuck this down with matt multi medium. The main paper is from My Mind Eye called A Beautiful Life which I then wiped White Picket Fence stain over the top......great effect.

Don't forget to pop over to see what the other members of the team have made,
and remember no cute designs for this challenge.

Welcome to the team at SCH....so looking forward to working with you! This is gorgeous...I love the flowers as they remind me of a old fashioned rose bush in my yard as I grew up. The layering on your bg with the script is so pretty in these colors. Have a great weekend.

Gorgeous card and the flowers are fabulous. If they were pink I would have thought they were Alberta roses. I love the soft feminine feel of this card. It is so nice to have you as a member of the SCH team.
