Graphic 45 Album......

Can you believe it, I have had three days off work and it rains for all of them, on the plus side I have managed to finish and photograph the graphic 45 album that I started a couple of weeks ago using the Olde Curisosity Shoppe papers. I have made this album for photos of my son's years at University getting his two degrees, and being as he's into quirky/computer things I thought the papers were appropriate. There are so many inspirational projects at Graphic 45 and I have also been inspired by Clare at My Creative Spirit and Anne at Annes Paper Creations....well worth a peek.
Warning this is a photo heavy post, you might need a cuppa, but I so love making these albums and I get carried away adding lots of bits n bobs and glitter. This is actually a 4 page chipboard album that I painted black before adding the backing papers. Click on photos for a more detailed peek.

Close up of charms, love the skull bead.

Summer of 59......

I wonder if the Summer of 59 was sunny cos I'm soooooo getting fed up with the rain again, thank goodness I managed to get my plants planted last weekend and I caught up with the weeding, at least its been gentle rain and everything is still standing so hopefully we'll still get a display when the sun does shine......ever the optomist.
Today sees the lauch of the new Cd Summer of 59 from the guys at Kraftyhands, lots of summery papers and images for you to play with. The times of the shows on Create and Craft  are 12 noon and 4pm, so tune in for more inspirational ideas from the team and the guys.

This is an 8x8 card, the image is layered and I then mounted it onto
a central panel with die cut edges before mounting it onto the
background paper.

off to play in my craft room and then its back to work tomorrow
.....you wait the sun will come out then......lol.

Summer of 59.......

Well  I guess that was the sun for the time being, cos its back to rain again this morning, oh well at least I won't feel guilty spending the day in my craft room. Which is in need of a serious tidy up.
Todays card is from a new Cd being launched on Create and Craft called........Summer of 59, from the guys at Kraftyhands, just love these dresses, I know my Mum wore them, it was such a glam era, all those full skirts with tulle underneath and little waists.....I was just a babe in arms at the time....oppps giving away my age now.

Date and times for the launch on Create and Craft are
30th May at 12 noon and 4:00pm.
This Cd is jam packed with images, papers and embellishments.
Perfect for Summer crafting.

The little handbags are soooo sweet, perfect to drop some chocs inside for a small pressie,
the pillow pack has a handle on as well so it
also looks like a handbag.

These images remind me of The South of France,
ladies strolling along the Promenade des Anglais in Canne, when we had sun in the summer.

Have a fabbie day

Layers and layers......

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, well my mini holiday is over and I'm back at work today, on the plus side I''m off again next week for three days, I have also managed to finish a Graphic 45 album which I will photograph and post real soon, but I thought I'd share with you today a canvas that I did in my class last Saturday, it is by no means finished but at least before all the bits go on the top you can see all the layers of paint and stencilling that went onto this canvas, I must admit it was fun to do but a smidge frustrating because I kinda got carried away and make the canvas too dark but will the help of Lin I managed to rescue it with more stencilling and paint, just loving the transluncency of these Fresco paints from Paperarsty.

Evening peeps hope you are having a great week so far, I'm having three days off and enjoying every minute, yesterday I went to science park with my daughter and grandsons and had a fabbie day, pushing buttons, riding on bikes, playing in water and generally discovering lots of things as well as finding out that my knees are really creaky when I was crawling through a mine shaft......not a real one I hasten to add. Thought I'd share some piccies of the day.

Ethan pumped the bellows whilst I was rubbing the stick to make fire.

riding a bike to see how your skeleton works, after having a go myself I was saddle sore.....lol

Zachary watching Ethan blowing a wind machine to turn all the propellors.
Impressed by his big bro'

Mum and son having fun.
The science park is at Snibston Disccovery Park at Coalville, well worth a visit.

I thought I'd share a card with you that I made a couple of weeks back featuring the Kew Floral CD from Kraftyhands, I love the threaded paper that you can cut and thread ribbon through, you can also use your favourite punch to do a border on the opposite edge. I kept mine to the scallops but did punch a border for the outside edge of the card.

Sketch n Stash....

Morning peeps hope you had a wonderful and relaxing weekend, at least the shone shone on Sunday which was great even if I didn't manage to get outside to start the next lot of weeding, I had to alter a dress and jacket for my soon to be son-in-laws Grandma, its her outfit for the wedding so there was no pressure, it always makes me nervous unpicking and cutting up someone elses outfit especially as it cost her £100 and it was too big for her, but its fininshed, well apart from the final press.....and it fits her so thats a good mornings work.

Today sees the start of a new challenge at Sketch n Stash and this fortnight we have the optional theme of adding lace and ribbon to your creation.
We have Pink Gem Designs sponsering us
for this challenge

We all got an image to play with this one is called Chloe with Dafodils, such a sweetie, I coloured in in with Prismas and used papers from First Edition called Up Up and Away, I'm trying to use up as much old satsh as possible cos my drawers are kinda overflowing abit and there is no room to sneak in any more.

Challenges
Bizzy Becs....for the girls.
By The Cute and girly.....flowers.

have a fabbie week

Ready Teddy Go......

Morning to you all, firstly big appologies for lack of visiting and blogging, as I mentioned in my previous post this week has gone by in a blur and I've still lots of catching up to do including altering a jacket and dress for my soon to be son-in-laws grandma........I'm trying to earn a few brownie points so I don't become the typical Mother-in-law that son-in-laws make jokes about......lol. Oh and did I mention I still have to make a DT card for tomorrow, as well as the odd bit of housework.

Today is a half way reminder that you still have a couple of weeks to join us at Ready Teddy Go, the theme is Spring has sprung......well its suppose to have but I am still in jumpers.brrrr, mind you the sun is shining as this moment, but for how long. we also have a sponser this month....Ladybug Crafts Ink, who have kindly donated two cling stamps for the lucky winner.

Not only that we are also having a DT call so if you are like me and lurvvvvve teddies why not take a peek at the deets here.

I have recreated the same card as at the begining of the challenge but in a different colourwaySuch a sweet image featuring Teddy Bea, the papers are from First Edition, the new lovely rose collection.I have coloured in the image with Prismas......so love blending these pencils, I just can't get on with markers.

Sugar Ceek Hollow.....

Afternoon fellow crafters, first appologies for lack  of blogging this week, I've spent most of it driving to and from Henley In Arden, my son was offered position as a 3D Junior artist with a  firm there and we have been doing dummy runs and sorting out his contract, we are thrilled to bits that he has finally secured a position doing exactly what he wanted to do as a career. He starts on Monday and after five years at home and university we will miss him.

Todays challenege at Sugar Creek Hollow is to use scraps and your old stash, nothing new to be used for your vintage/shabby chic creations. I had some papers and a tag from some cards that I had made a week ago, so I used them for my card. I did add frantage around the tag to create texture. The pearls were thresded through the seam binding to create another bow.

I'm off to a class today with Lin Brown......lots of painting and getting messy.
Have a wonderful weekend
