Post Christmas.....

Well I've neglected my blog for long enough, time for a catch up me thinks. Christmas came and went in a blur, a busy few weeks in the chocolate shop before the big day and a lovely visit to see Santa with my daughter, son and grandsons at the safari park just before Christmas, it was great day with the boys feeding the animals and having fun. Mind you the mess that they made in the car with the animal feed meant that hubby had to have the car valeted the next day.

I used one of the latest Christmas stamps from Crafty Individuals CI 448 for the main image and then embossed in gold one of the Christmas words CI 446. The background is from the background snowflake stamp CI 241. I stamped in a plum coloured ink which is very close to the colour I've just had my hair streaked in.....lol. I must update my profile piccie as I've gone silver now with plum streaks.

Just wishing all my followers a very Happy New Year,
I'm hoping my health will start to improve as I've a couple of
yukky years now feeling ill. Maybe its time to join a gym.......no better takes things a bit slower.

MDF heart.....

Morning fellow bloggers, well I'm back off our holidays, we stayed a Punta Sabbioni which is just across the lagoon from Venice so we spent a lovely week visiting Venice a couple of times as well as sitting in the lovely sunshine, mind you I'm feeling the cold now we are back.
Before we went away I spent a lovely weekend celebrating the 10th anniversary at Moxley and this is another project that we made, a lovely mini floral heart with Katy Leitch, I think I'm going to use this on the front of a mini wedding album.

Texture paste was used on the background, the flowers were painted with gesso first and then we used mica  powders and mica sprays to add the colour, I kept mine very pale with the hints of blue, then the fun part of adding pearls, gems and micro beads to finish off.

Crafty Weekend......

Well the summer is over and the kids are back to school, so now the sun might come out, I spent the weekend crafting at a retreat in Moxley with a wonderful group of ladies headed up by Debs and Lisa who put on the most amazing event to celebrate their 10th birthday that I have ever been to, we started the show with a class by Morag Cutts on Sunday which the photos of part of the project are below as I have yet to finish my mini album to go inside the bottom suitcase. A marathon day on the Saturday starting with a class by Helen D Pritchett, then a class by Katy Leitch, two more classes in the evening by Debs and Lisa featuring one messy lay out and one clean and simple scrap lay out all using wonderful products and I've got so much stash left that I will be crafting for the next few weeks to use it all up. Then on Sunday we had a class with Louise Collins and made another fabbie project.  On top of all that the food was totally amazing and then we go and get a goody bag stuffed with more crafting goodies........an amazing wonderful weekend. Photos of the rest of my projects to follow over the next week or so.

The project that we made with Morag is this pretty stacked suitcase filled with flowers and a sweet bird, gilding flakes on the cases and lots of dry brushing to this shabby chic.

Pics of album to follow

Fun weekend over back to work today

Crafty Individuals challenge.......

It's time for a new challenge at Crafty Individuals and the theme this month is .......anything goes, I have made another mini shabby chic album featuring photos of my Mum and her family as well as my Dad, I thought I would do one for my sister this time, so this is version two. For the  cover I have used the stamp C1-320 which I stamped using memento inks in Angel Pink, London Fog, Pistachio and Lulu Lavender, the background of the heart has been frantaged with Vintage pink, ice shavings and vintage glitter, the background paper has been stamped using the new doily stamp which has been embossed in white with stamp CI-441. Flower heads C1-206 are coloured with prisma pencils and the centres have clear plastic beads in the centre for a lovely frosty look.

the rose and the heart I made using Martha Stewart air drying paper clay, I've never used this before but the detail from the moulds is really good and the embellishment is really light and is suitable for painting, I painted mine with gesso and then brushed some treasure gold onto the rose. I also spritzed the paper with g;immer mist in Vintage pink.

Page 2

The pansies are from the same flower head stamp as above also coloured with Prismas and the splodged with gesso, and on the background paper I used C1-439 stamped with London Fog, the stencil  which is also from Crafty Individuals is done with Prima modelling paste and then spritzed with glimmer mist.

Page 3

I have used the same doily stamp again but stamped with London Fog, and the the image stamp is C1-139,  the die cut of the chandelier  has been frantaged , I have used cheese cloth behind all of the photos for a soft look.
I will be posting the next couple of pages next week, so don't forget when entering the challenge you need to use a product from Crafty Individuals and each entry will receive a discount code for a whopping 25% off your next order.

Shabby Chic mini album......A Trip down memory lane

Morning peeps hope all is well and that the sun is finally shining after all the rain that some parts of the country got last week, hopefully we will get a few days of sun now as it hasn't been the best of summers so far. Last Sunday I went to a workshop with the the talented Tracy Payne, I have admired her shabby chic work for ages and finally got to go to her home and make this lovely mdf mini album, well I started it and finished it off last week. there is so much hidden detail in it and lots of Gesso that it took a lot longer than I thought it would.......I wanted to do an album featuring the life of my Mum so the front starts off with a photo of when she was a little girl.

Front cover includes stencilling and colour sprays

Heart is stamped onto acetate and stuck over stencilling with paste, which was then spritzed with a pink glimmer mist. The photo corners are frantage with a pale pink and white.

The frame is made from a mould

My Mum and Dad were professional Ballroom dancers,
unfortunately I never learnt to dance, much to my regret.

Frantage and metal embellishments on this page
as well as frantage photo corners again which are Doobadoo laser cut embellishments.

The photos on this page show my Mum as little girls with her Mum and Dad and Brother and Sister but the photo on the right show us all as children, I'm the tallest standing and my baby twin Brother and Sister are in the pram.

Patchwork or quilt.

Morning peeps hope you are all well and enjoying any sun that happens to be out, not the best of summers this year is it, oh well there is always September to go.......we sometimes get a good week then.
Today sees the start of the new monthly challenge at Kraftyhands, this one is quite sad as it's my last one for the guys, there have been a few changes and I have decided to step down so that I can concentrate on other things. The theme this month is quilts and patchwork and for my card I used the image and papers from the new Romantique Cd that you can pre order here, it will be available later on this month. The image I double embossed in clear to make it look even older.

Mini Album......

Don't know where the time is going to and its seems ages since I last blogged, I'm in the process of making another album at the moment.........getting addicted to making these in fact I don't know what I'm going to do with them all, I might have to have a craft stall sometime in the future to sell some of them. However I thought I would share with you an album I made using Kaisercaft papers called Telegraph Road .This is an album in a box, with lots of bling and vivid colours which is well out of my comfort zone.
