Tranquil snowy scene..........

Morning fellow bloggers, here is another card featuring one of the new stamps from Crafty Individuals, such a lovely little snow scene, which I kept very simple by just giving it a wash of Tea Dye distress ink.The word silent night I stamped and embossed on Vellum using CI 446 and the snow cottage scene is CI 463

I must confess that I haven't been in my craft room for a couple of weeks as I have my Mum living with me and unfortunately she is on end of life, so I have spent the past 10 days sleeping by her side and holding her hand. Three months ago Mum fell and broke her hip and after seven weeks in hospital she went to a nursing home unfortunately they didn't know the meaning of nursing and after a week she was taken back into hospital as she was so poorly, she spent a week there but they couldn't do very much other than give her fluids and antibiotics to fight the infection and because of her dementia, we decided that Mum would be best at my home where we could wrap her in love, but now it is the time that we have to say goodbye, at least all of the family have had that chance to come and say their goodbyes and she is out of pain, asleep and comfortable.

Christmas makes......

Morning to you fellow crafty bloggers, I have been away for quite a while now and thought it was time to share some of the cards I have been making but not blogging, I must admit to not feeling up to is as for the past six weeks I have spent every afternoon in hospital visiting my Mum who fell and broke her hip but because she has dementia her progress has been slow and her dementia has got worse, it's a cruel disease as there have been a couple of days when Mum has been herself again but there are more days when she has become lost to us and has been very agitated. We have now had to go and look at nursing homes for her as she is pretty much bed ridden but a couple of the places we visited gave us nightmares with the conditions and staffing levels, we knew that Mum would end up back in hospital real soon again, how these places get to continue is beyond me the standards are so low.
Anyway onto my Christmas card that I have just made featuring a few Crafty Individual stamps, the image has been coloured in with copics as my Son added another set to my collection as a birthday present and of course you never have quite the right colours so you end up buying more........we all been there yes!

The green background I created by using a brayer and Fresco acrylic paints, after which I stamped the dictionary definition onto it CI 396 , on a spare bit I stamped and embossed the word Noel CI 446, the Santa image CI 396 I cut out and mounted over a piece of lace.

Long time no blog.........

It's ages since I have blogged, it's not that I haven't been crafting it's just that I seem to run out of time, to get round to blogging. What with work, looking after my Mum and Grandson on my days off time just slips by. Don't know about you but I wish some good news would come on the telly for a change, and where has the sun gone I was looking forward to seeing my garden in bloom but as soon as the roses started to come out they are now all dying because they are too wet.......definitely in need of some blue sky and sun.
I have been having a play using some of the new Crafty Individuals stamps and using  Dyluson sprays in pink and lime green for the background, I love how the colours mix and change colour so that you end up with several shades. The flowers are made using the Heartfelt Creations rose stamp layered up. The list of stamps used is at the bottom of this post.

Crafty Individuals challenge.........

Evening fellow bloggers, well we are half way through May, and we have had some lovely sunny days along with lots of other weather thrown into the mix. I have been playing with one of the new stamps from Crafty Individuals, CI 452 Natures Beauty, love this one as it can be cut up as well as layering parts of the design I have gold embossed the image and coloured with watercolour twinkling H20s. The frame I got for a £1, its started life as grey, I used black gesso and dry brushed aqua paint and then added treasure gold to highlight the details on the frame.
Don't forget you still have a couple of weeks to enter the challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme is anything goes.

Crafty Individuals.......

Afternoon fellow bloggers, can't believe the last time I shared a card was at Easter, what happened to April, although my mojo has taken a dip of late, I did go to Paris for a weekend when it was the Version Scrap show, thoroughly enjoyed myself but so wish I spoke French as the show was a real treat for scrap bookers, most of the stalls had make and take projects to do and there were some lovely projects being made.Mind you it was seriously busy with queues to get on the stands and then another to pay, it was just how a show should be, I picked up some great magazines although they are in French they have some really good instructions for layouts in fact I have subscribed to one called Histoire de Pages.

Todays card is for the challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme is ......anything goes. Don't forget to use a product from Crafty Individuals and you will get a code fr a whopping 25% off your next purchase. I have used one of the new stamps CI 450 called inky borders, I love this little film strip, which is one of three stamps in the set. I have used mini images from the image book People and Places which is on offer at just £1.45 for inside the film strip and the little frame. For the main background I have stencilled and spritzed adding micro beads and thread for extra texture, actually the mica sprays I picked up at the French show for just 3.50 euros, a bargain. The background behind that layer was brayed with fresco paints and the I used a script stamp to randomly stamp over.

Well I have finally finished icing Easter eggs for another year, we iced so many in the past two days that it will take a while for my wrists to stop hurting, hope the Easter Bunny dropped lots of yummy chocolate eggs off to you all. My son and daughter brought me some copics for mothers day and I have added a few more to my collection so I have been busy playing with them this is my first effort with a very limited colour palette.

Wedding photo......

Evening to my fellow crafty bloggers, thought I would share with you the canvas that I did with Anna Dabrowska the other week, as soon as I saw the project I knew the photo that I wanted to use, it's a lovely head shot of my daughter at her wedding, and she had a lovely silver metal slide for her hair which is just peeking out from below the crown of flowers, she has hung this canvas on her wall.........so I guess she liked it.
We created an imaginary dress using lace and resist canvas, and then I added lots of metallic embellishments, buttons and flowers and after painting everything with white Gesso I then used three different coloured sprays and some of the new metallic acrylic which I dry brushed onto some of the embellishments. the drips were made with a glue gun and then I used a pencils to outline the edges of the drips to give them more definition
