Halloween ball........

Afternoon peeps, hope you have all enjoyed your extra hour in bed today, trouble is now it will be dark in the afternoon which I don't like, I decided to use my extra hour to do some bed linen changing, three beds later and a mountain of ironing I finally put my feet up at 4:00pm, what a numpty I am to do a such a mammoth task. Just a reminder that you still have a few days left to enter the challenge at Crafty Individuals, the theme is Halloween Madness or Christmas Frenzy, I have made a card using four stamp sets to create this Halloween ball card.
The image was coloured in with distress ink pens. I stamped the lace and embossed with a dark purple embossing powder from Cosmic Shimmer, when you move the card the colour changes. I stamped the lady dancing twice and put one image over the top of the clock image.

Stamps used CI 346, Dancing Until 1:00pm
CI 339, Hickory Dickory Dock
CI 350, Lovely Lace
CI 206 Flower Heads

Butterfly Botanicals.......

Evening to you all, hope you have a great weekend,we have a real mixed bag of weather this week, torrential rain followed by warm sun, my flowers are thinking it might be spring and are starting to bud up again. This card is another from the Butterfly Botanicals Cd from Kraftyhands. I have used the purple and gold colour theme again, all of the elements I have used are from the card set section on the cd, including the vintage map of England. I have added frantage in purple and gold to the border of the main image of the butterflies.

Went to a scrap crop today and got really messy with paint and inks, Morag Cutts was our tutor and her Lay Outs are always a treat, learnt so much, layering up lots of different elements, just got to finish them off now.

Sugar Creek Hollow.....

Afternoon to you all and welcome to this fortnights challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, we challenge you to use 1 image, 2 design papers and 3 types of embellishments on your vintage/shabby chic projects, as you can see I have gone slightly overboard with my embellishmnets. I have used the Femme Fatale Cd from Kraftyhands for my card. I added Treasure Gold in silver around the edges for some extra shimmer.

I am off this weekend for two days of crafting with Clare Charvill using fabbie Graphic 45 papers, at Daisy Jewels in Bedworth, which is so handy as it's just a couple of miles away. Yesterday at work I iced five chocolate speech bubble plaques for a customer......she was giving them to the guys in the group 'The Backstreet Boys' who are on a cruise that she is going on.......guess that's my claim to fame. my icing being nibbled by a boy band.
Have a great weekend

Crafty Individuals......

Morning to all you crafty bloggers, hope you are well and have enjoyed these past few warm days. Today sees the start of a new challenge at Crafty Individuals, there are two themes for you to choose from this month, ‘Halloween Madness or Christmas Frenzy', I have used one of the new Christmas stamps that has just been launched, I love this postage style stamp  CI 420 featuring lots of previous Christmas stamps, the detail is amazing for something so small, perfect to cut up or use as a whole image which is what I have done. I coloured the stamped background using Victorian Velvet, Tea Dye, Old Paper and Broken China, I then spritzed with iridescent gold glimmer mist.

I edged the image with lace and then threaded seam binding through the lace.

The snow flake die is from Joy Crafts which I embossed with a blue, gold and white frantage powder and then added iced shaving for more iridescent bling.
The background I coloured with a Pan Pastel pale blue and then embossed the snowflake stamp CI 241 with silver tinsel embossing powder.

Don't forget to join in the challenge you need to use at least one Craft Individuals item, and every entrant gets a discount code for a whopping 25% off their next purchase

Sugar Creek Hollow......

Wow what happened to this week talk about being jam packed, I had a works conference on Wednesday so it was an early start and a late finish, the next day we travelled back, I got home to go to a hospital appointment and my daughters on the phone struggling to get a van as their house move was to be the next day, talk about last minuet. com. So I spent yesterday looking after Zachary whilst helping them with the moving.....an hour before they were supposed to vacate their old house they get the keys for the new one. We are all exhausted this morning and I'm now off to work for a rest.
Todays card which I was really late finishing for the challenge, i.e, this morning, is for the new challenge at Sugar Creek Hollow, the theme this fortnight is....The hidden word. So please join along with your vintage/shabby chic creations.

Andy Skinner.....

Morning fellow crafty bloggers, hope you all had a lovely weekend. I managed to go a class on Saturday which was taught by Andy Skinner. I have never really done anything totally grungy and without the addition of some sort of bling even if it's only Treasure Gold. It was a leisurely paced class and we put so many layers of paint, paste and glue. We made this small journal book which I made for my son, I did add the spinner and brad on to the top afterwards.......and there is no bling, although I nearly got my Treasure gold out but put it back. All of the paints we used are from Decoart, I've never used these before, but I was impressed with the rust effect, as well as using fluid acrylics we also used modelling paste, texture sand and gesso.

Have a great week

Back of book, which is stencilled with gesso onto a splattered rusty background, then topped off with a
rusty wash and another layer of splatters.

Lace......

Afternoon to you all, I have finally finished another lay out for my daughters wedding album, it's a good job I made her a small album before embarking on a 12x12 one as it will her 2nd Wedding anniversary before she gets it, or even her third. I'm enjoying making scrapping at the moment especially adding lots of embellishments and hand made flowers.

I have used the Heartfelt open vintage floret stamps for the roses and the open leaf stamp for the leaves. Thank god I brought the die for the petals because each rose has 6 layers. I stamped onto pale gold card with Desert Sand memento ink.

The papers are from Papermania, one of their capsule collections as are the doileys which I cut up and the stitched with embroidery thread. The ring and splodge stamp is from Kaisercraft called Stains and the script is a stamp from Crafty Individuals.

The background paper is from the wedding collection DCWV which I painted with picket fence distress stain, I added stickles to some of the dots in the background for a smidge more bling.

My Dad had a bead shop before he passed away 12 years ago, just before my daughter 18th Birthday.
I saved some of the crystal beads from his shop and had some stitched onto her dress. One of the beads is dangling from the bird cage as a reminder of her Grandad.

I followed the sketch from Stuck, who have a couple of inspirational sketches to follow each month
