Mothers Day card

The background for the image is the backgound sheet for when I do glimmer misting, so its a combo of a few colours. The stamp I've used is a new one I got yesterday whilst at my class....so appropriate for this time of the year I couldn't resist it. The stamp is from Paper Inspirations and is called Mothers essence. After stamping I sprinkled a little gold embossing powder over some of the words just to add a gold finish....great effect to add some bling. I stamped a lace border down the right side and bottom using a B Line stamp called Lace Duo......you get 2 lace stamps on the top and bottom of the block and they're 8ins long again a great stamp for background I used brushed corduroy....cos its Tim's favourite colour lol....other colours used are the new Victorian velvet and crushed olive. The photo image is from Crafty Individuals.

Challenges are:
Create 4 Fun....sketch.
Secret Crafter.....stitches either real or faux, On this card i have embossed stitches around the top and left side of the text using gold.
Crazy4Challenges.......use 3 types of texture, I've used embossing around the image and edges of the card, buttons with threads.
If the shoe fits.....use burgundy, lime green and fushia.
Allsorts.....Mothers Day project.
Rosie Dees Challenge....Friendship my best friend is my mum....hence the 'you and me'.
Pile it on......Lucky me....can be interpreted to what you think,

hugs for now and thank you for having a look and leaving a comment

Messy fingers

I had a lovely day at a class with Linda Elbourne yesterday it was called Chip and Bling......it was soooo inky as my fingers ended up a lovely shade of aged mahogany with a hint of black....such fun, but I think my customers will think them strange on Monday because after several washes and scrubbing they are still a lovely shade of pinky red. The final results were so worth it though, the pics below don't do it justice so will have to photograph it later again. I still need to add one more panel but somehow managed to loose the piece of lace so will have to finish it when I can get some more lace. I have entered this in a challenge as it was aptly named .....Inky fingers at Tuesday Taggers. The prize has been donated this week by The Craft Barn. Also the theme at Simon Says is vintage with flowers.

I must confess at this point I glimmer misted it with irridescent gold when I had fininshed
it I hope Linda forgives me as I am so into glimmer mist at the moment.

My inky fingers although on the photo they don't look too bad .

Baby Card

Think I'm stuck in a purple phase this week, the stamp I've used is one of the new Lili of the Valley designs, the sketch I have used is from Moving along with the times, I was thrilled to discover I won last weeks challenge with them and thought that this weeks challenge used an interesting shape although it was a fiddle to do. They also have the theme of babies/children. Other challenges entered are Flutterby....open theme but must include wings either a butterfly or angel etc.

Lilac Bear

The challenge at Just cute bears this week is a colour one ....Lilac, and as #i've never coloured a lilac bear I thought I'd have a go...not sure if I've gone overboard with the lilac, there is a splash of pink....you know me there has to be pink. I spritzed the background with gold and purple pansy glimmer mists rubbed crystal stickles onto at well for a glittery effect then distressed the edges with purlple concord distress inks.
other challenges are:
Stamp with fun.....Theme is stitches, I've machined and added faux stitches to this card.
Truly Scrumptious...followed the sketch..like the idea of the eyelets to add ribbon.
Our creative corner....try a new technique, after watching Tim Holtz this week do his grunge thinge....so loving it, I had never rubbed stickles onto the background before to get a glittery effect, worked really well.

My Mum

Todays card was made before goining to the show, my early Sundays crafting indulgence...cup of tea, distress inks, glamour mist and stamps= Sunday heaven.

Challenges for this card are:
Moving along with the times.....sketch and a mother theme and being as this card will be my mothers day card to my mum.
Quixotic.....something for mum.
Allsorts......a tag ,ticket or label.

Sir Tim

Just got back from the show, we weren't there that long as the show seemed alot smaller this year, but was lucky enough to see Tim.....you know the one all distressed but never stressed..I stood watching him make another amazing creation, he makes it look sooo easy, I wonder if he ever makes a mistake, mind you I never admit to making a mistake I just change it and add some glimmer mist, glitter, etc.

Here are a couple of pics of the great man doing his thing.....

picture of the finished tag he was making although the picture dosen't do it justice at all the bird was covered with distress crackles as was the tag which gave it a lovely shimmery effect with tiny cracks in.

hugs for now x

Where did that come from......

I don't believe it got up this morning ready to go to the show and we've had a t least 10cms of snow and its still snowing.......wasn't expecting that, will just have to wait and see how the roads are now before even contemplating the drive in this......on the bright side I can craft all day as I wasn't going to get much else done today. Let you know later the outcome....Show v craft

Keep warm and hugs for now

In the pink

Quickie post this morning before going to work walking in all that white stuff which is melting so will be gone by tonight ahhh...
Love the sketch at Charisma Cardz so just had to have a go at this one....must say there are some great sketch challenges this week. Another challenge entered is Cute Card Thursday the theme is to include metal be it brads, charms etc. I have gone for glitter (of course) metal brads. Image is painted as always in sakura penns and twinkling h2os, as I've got to have some bling, papers are K and Ko and from a magazine, flowers are from stash I think they're from Orchid crafts but I purchased mine from a local shop. Lots of spots is the theme at Totally papercrafts...I know there are a few spots in the background paper but my main spots are the pearls and metal brads as well as the punched border.

Its Snowing

Yay......... the weather man got it right at last and its snowing, now I know lots of you are fed up with the white stuff but we've missed out apart fom when the whole country was covered. Decided to take my mum and grandson to a local play centre called Jam Jam Boomerang.....funny name for a play centre. Mum, after getting used to the loud noise of all the children, thoroughly enjoyed herself sipping cappucino and watching all the kids have fun especially her own daughter who was playing on the slide, ball pool, and climbing blocks although it was an excuse called looking after her grandson....... who said at 50+ you can't have fun...lol.

I was quite excited when I saw the sketch for Lili of the Valley challenge this week as it looked gorgeous, so at 7.30am I dashed upstairs to make a start on todays card......ok I walked upstairs but had the body been willing I would have dashed...lol. I started to punch out the border when it jammed and could i unjam it...no.... so I had to wait for my son to get up so he could fix it for me.....I find these  punches by Martha Stewart abit frustrating as my heart punch hates paper so consequently my card is a little later than planned.

Challenges for this card are:
Lili of the Valley challenge.....followed the sketch have been dying to use this stamp as its so sweet as is the little girl one.
Fab n Funky.......have the theme of a child card.
Papertake....use check or gingham.
If the shoe fits challenge...Mad for plaid is the title for this weeks challenge.

Brown, Pink and cream

Another busy day at work today as we have a special offer on Easter Eggs (BOGOF) on all the £3.50 eggs ....what a bargain. Colours for this card as you can see are brown, pink and cream with the tinest smidge of blue. This colour scheme is the challenge at Roses on Paper. The challenge at Magnolia Down Under is to include Buttons, flowers and ribbons on you project. Check it out is the theme at Papertake Weekly so you can use either check or gingham or both on your design. I followed the sketch at Sketch and stash, the new stash that I have used is the magnolia Tilda stamp. Three types of embellishment, two patterned papers and one image is the challenge at Simon Says.As well as the challenge at Simon Says they also have a blog hop where you need to visit various blogs gathering letters along the way...I'm fine until it comes to unscrambling the letters then my brain turns to mush.

Chocolate OD

.Had a regional meeting today but as usual ate far too many chocolates I think we should be able to go to a health spa for a week once a year for a detox and diet, I did sugest it but no go....

Todays card is a splish splosh of glimmer mist and distress inks, the main background paper i distressed with fired brick, shabby shutters, dusty concord and broken china I then spritzed the paper with gold  glimmer mist which produces the most amazing effect which doesn't photograph as good as it looks, stamps are from Crafty Individuals. I followed the sketch from Everybody Art, Springtime is the theme at A Spoonfull of Sugar, The colours on this card remind me of bluebells in a wood and the orange and golds are sunshine, the clock represents the time of change and the bird completes the picture. Time is the theme at Tuesday Taggers. Probably abit late for this challenge but at Gingersnap Creations the theme is lace and fibres. Create a little something.....is the challenge atCreatalicious challenge this month. The challenge at Stamp Something Challenge this week is A touch of Spring.
