Good News

I have just got to share with you my two pieces of good news firstly I have had a piece of work chosen to be published later on in the year by The Craft Stamper magazine which is just a fabbie mag for all things inky and also I have been chosen by the talented Kim MacFarlane to be on her design team at Cuddly Buddly ......and being as I adore her sweet designs I just had to say yes.The site sells a wide and varied range of goodies from Tim Holtz to all things cute and cuddly, they only charge £1 for p&p no matter how much you order and you usually get some sweets in your parcel....can't be bad.
Thought I'd show you the card that I entered in the Cudddly Buddly challenge this month

have a great week end

Just Peachy

Haven't done a little magnolia pony for a while so I thought it was time it had an outing.....what made me choose pink and peach I have no idea, I coloured the image in and then had to go through all my papers to find something suitable.....I used 3 papers from Wild Raspberry by K&Co not use them before and I've had them ages......naughty me I just love collecting paper pads and then think its a shame to cut them up lol.
Used cosmic shimmer paint for the peach and for the highlights in the pink I used a pink rose Sakura pen, don't think I'll ever get fed up using these.
Flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Prima , I spritzed the white flower in Tuscan Sun glimmer mist to get the peach shade, added crystal bead sprays and gold curl stamens to complete the detail.

Challenges
Just Magnolia....anything goes
Roses on Paper......sketch
Pile it on.......make it sweet.
Magnolia down Under.....use a charm.
Charisma....Girly and flowers

Hubbys B'day card

Yesterday was my hubbys birthday, this is the first time I had made him a card, I brought some new carstamps by B Line when I went to my class on Saturday along with a few other goodies, I stamped one onto gold metal, using a kabuka mould I made the frame around the image, distressing it with black acrylic paint, I puffed out the wheel and lamps to add dimension to the image and added some rivets to the background. The Postcard was distressed and water splashed onto the background to get the water marks, I then stamped a crackle stamp from crafty individuals using brushed corduroy to the background, the suitcase is also from B Line I sprinkled some gold embossing powder to the corners of the case for a smidge of bling, the pen, small tag and clock face are from Graphic 45, I added glossy accents to parts of the pen, the Venice stamp is also from Crafty Individuals

Challenges are

Quixotic......Distressing
Stampavie........Distressing
Simon Says.........Button, bow and bling ( mine is a more distressed bling)

Mirror mirror on the wall.....

What a fab day I had at LB Crafts where I made this mirror using lots of different techniques, its a bit like a sampler, met some lovely ladies again ....special thanks to Claire and Jean we started all together and we finished altogether as there was so much to do and some of those ladies are soooo speedy....one day I might be a smidge quicker. Got to play with alcohol inks which is a first for me thoroughly enjoyed all the techniques and I love the effect on the ART panel of the inks mixing together if I had let them dry in between each colour the effect would have been different......but I think this is like marble.

Challenges:

Free Time

I haven't had my grandson this week and I've had lots of time to play......I've really missed him but its been like a mini holiday I've gots lots of crafting done ..one of which I'm posting today, I've completed 5 pages on my Venice Album so thats coming along and tomorrow I'm off to LB CRafts for a workshop... we're making a mirror using lots of metal techniques, its an advanced piece and I'm a little nervous incase I can't keep up as I'm quite a slow worker and I always manage to sit next to someone who is related to Speedy Gonzalas....lol.
Todays card started life as a tag(for all of 1 Hour) and was then turned into a card. I quite like doing tags which are like mini collages... I tend to try and incorporate lots of techniques so my desk ends up looking like a bomb site as I have to hunt for my tools.....I distressed the background using Chipped Sapphire, Tea Dye, and Broken China, spritzed it then with Creme de Coco glimmer mist, backround stamped in Brushed Corduroy....two stamps both by Paper Artsy, you can just make out the face of the boy sitting under the plane.....little bit of fun.

Tags are all from Graphic 45, applied a ruffle of ribbon down the side, the plane was stamped onto tissue paper, distressed and then using a glue medium by Claudine Helmuth stuck down and then the medium applied on top of it, the tissue was torn and curled.

I then applied distress crackle paint to parts of the tags to give them an aged look, the clock face is mounted onto a button and then glossy accents applied....quite pleased with the effect of that, T he background of the card was distressed using Tea Dye and then the crackle stamp which is from Crafty Individuals using Brushed Corduroy was applied to cover the background...and voila my vintage male card.

Challenges are
Colour Create.....use burnt orange, black and cream.
Ohh La La.....Vintage male card.
Crazy 4 Challenges....sketch.
Little Red Wagon....Ruffles.
Die cut Dreams.......Tear it up.
Gingersnap Creations....theme of Earth, I gone with the colours of Earth.

Botanical

Morning and what a lovely morning it is went to sainsbury early to get the shopping in and my grandson was going along the shelves putting food in the trolley.....he enjoyed himself even if we haven't got a dog but still wanted to buy some dog food lol
Todays card is based around the theme at Gingersnap Creations which is... Botanical. The stamps are from Crafty Individuals and come as a set of 4. Each one was distressed in ink and then glimmer mist added....which doesn't show particularly well ......I used Purple Concord with Purple Pansy, Marigold with Tuscan Sun, Victorian Velvet with Tea rose and Chipped sapphire with Denim Blue, I then distressed the edges using gold embossing powder and added a black ink to the edges and rubbed it into the gold to get a more aged look. The edges from the paper was done the same way....again this is from Crafty Individuals..... The Springtime Book  which has such yummy papers but you kinda don't want to use them. At Crafty Creations the theme is .....Distressing.

Close up of images and the flower in the centre was misted as well.

My TIme To Craft Dt tag

Morning and what a gorgeous morning it is....the sun is shining and I'm on my day off and apart fom the ironing I've got nothing else to do.....apart from crafting so I don't feel guilty to some me time, my daughter isn't very well now so I've not got my grandson today ....its quite strange having a day off on my own but I'm sure I'll cope. Today is the challenge at My Time To Craft and the theme is Quick Quotes....so I've made a tag using a stamp from Crafty Individuals, she has such a serene face, the quote is one I found in a magazine that I've had for ages, so I mounted it onto a velum frame and edged it with a peel off border......love the quote and so true....the background is from the paper that I used to catch my spraying and is probably a mixture of denim blue, rum and rasin, gold, tuscan sun, and tuquoise......I think, the flowers are from the same piece and I've used metal spacers secured with a brad to finish them off, and of course the lace has been spritzed to match.
Not sure what I'm goinig to do with this tag as I had nothing in mind when I made it other than for my Dt work. Will have a think today to see if I can re-use it and make it into a card to cover some challenges....I do love a challenge lol

                                                                   Have a good day
                                                                 hugs from Daniele x

P.S.
Have turned tag into a card, the backround was spritzed with the same colours as the tag, the paper is from Stampin Up....which was a pressie from my staff at work....they know I'm a total addict, the ribbon and bow I distressed with Purple concord as were the edges of the card, you get a lovely effect with distress inks if you spray irr. gold on the top .....yummy.

Challenges are:
Kard Krazy......the theme is reuse, recycle or repurpose, this kinda fits all of those criteria as the backround to the tag is recycled spritzed waste card, I've reused the tag to make a card.
Everybody art.....followed sketch.
Ink On My Fingers......open theme.

Fly Away...

Fly away is the name of the stamp from Penny Black that I've used......just wish I could fly away to somewhere to definately  in need of a holiday I think. We had planned to go out today to a theme park to celebrate Richards 21st. but its on hold as my grandson has gone down with the sickness bug my mum had......he managed to say hello to me this morning when I rang to see how he was poor thing, first time he's been ill apart from colds, so I shall be having a rest/craft day today.....bit like a mini holiday lol ....just hope I don't come down with it as I've got a class booked next Saturday at LB Crafts and every time I've gone I'm either ill or had to miss the class completley due to being too ill to go........I'm ill fated with classes lol.

Todays card is coloured with distress inks: Frayed Burlap, Tea Dye and Brushed Corduroy.....this one is becoming my favourite just like Tim Holtz it has a lovely antique colour to it. Of course there had to be bling I spritzed the image and circles with Irr.gold glimmer mist on my 2nd bottle now.....and then added Platinum and Stardust stickles The background paper is Roan from K&Ko.

Midnight Crafter

Sorry long post today but I'm sitting with a cuppa so you might want to grab one as well....are you sitting comfortably.....yes...then I'll begin.
Yesterday I was think that I was losing my mojo and needed some inspiration to kick start it again and then I saw an image that is on a challenge site that I'd not entered before called  Art Creations Friday they had an image of a veiled lady that you had to use somewhere in your project, so that was it I was off again.I have never altered a CD before and this weeks challenge at Creative Inspirations is to alter a CD.....good excuse to have a go.

The stamp for the arched door is from Crafty Individuals and was stamped onto silver metal using Staz On I then added texture to the door panels and cut through the metal to open the door so that the image could sit behind......be careful as the metal is sharp so to dull the edges I burnished then with a paper stump and then textured the edges so that they were smoothe. The charm tags at the bottom were made the same way. The challenge this week at Gothic Arches is to make a tag with an arch and the challenge at Kard Krazy is to make a tag with words or a quote.....my words are the silver charms at the bottom....Cherish art. Silver is the theme at Ink on my Fingers. Spring is the theme atWeekend taggers....have gone for the colour blue as my interpretation....blue skys, flowers.

Close up of charms
The challenge at Gingersnap Creations is to use some thing found......well I have that key that I found ages ago in my purse and thought it was time it got used as its perfect for this project....well I think it is lol.

The textured side panel is from Terra and is painted using black and grey acrylic paint with light blue Viva precious metal highlighted over that. I then added another piece of silver metal on the other side using a Kabuka mould and just picked out a small part of it to use, the whole project was then glimmer misted with Denin Blue. The challenge at Quixotic is to called heavy metal....not rockin but using lots of metal i.e. charms, pins etc.

Early Morning

Finished a card late last night so I thought I'd post before goining to work today.....the weather is gorgeous after yesterday lets hope it stays nice for the weekend as we've planned a trip to a theme park on Sunday and knowing my luck it'll rain........on the bright side my card today has lots of sparkle and I've used a different colour scheme than the normal pink or purple.....really hard  to find nice papers in lilacs I wonder why?? anyway the image is from Lily of the Valley which is a nice simple sketch from Bev....I like simple sketches some do get a little fussy. I coloured the image in with the usual Sakura pens and h20's papers are from Rose Garden by papermania....nearly out of these as they are so pretty. Other challenges are Flutterby who have an open challenge but include fairies or butterflies, and The Pixie cottage have the theme of buttons. Use a die cut as part of your project is the theme at Creative Beli...nice easy one. Spring is the challenge at Totally Papercrafts. Just love layers and being as thats the challenge at Stamp Something just had to enter that one. Ribbons and bows are the challenge at Stampin for the weekend.

Have a great weekend
