Passed.....

Morning peeps, well it started off lovely and sunny this morning but its clouded over, i was going to  go and do some much needed weeding in the garden but I nipped upstairs to have a crafty play instead, the new challenges have started over at Lindas......Grungy Monday, this is such a brill name, I've got a day off from my grandson today because my daughter is off for the day as its her driving test this morning, my mojo was a little lack lustre first thing......actually it had upped and gone so I decided to follow the techniques for this weeks challenge..... Day 10 of the twelve days of christmas 2008",the masking part went wrong so I had a break and cleaned up then......arghhhh !! I then decided to make the tag for my daughter congratulating her on passing her test....well I couldn't do a fail one could I. I'd just put the PASS on the bottom when she rang me to say she'd passed.........I knew she had cos my tag said so....lol. To follow all the techniques on the tag click on the link and you'll be transported back in time to 2008......

I added watch parts for inside the cog stamped image
as I wanted small ones rather than Tims big cogs.......am I allowed to say that???

Sketh N stash.......

Went to the hobby show at the nec yesterday, not as big a show as the November one but still managed to spend too many pennies......lol. I did manage to get my hands on some of the new acrylic paints that Paperartsy have just brought out, well to be honest my daughter brought them for me for Mothers Day, they have a lovely chalky finish and can be stamped on as well as mixed together for lovely colours, I think that these will be really popular as they have a lovely fininsh for backgrounds to tags. My daughter and I had a little go at parchment craft on the Pergamano stand, I really struggled with cutting, eyes are not what they used to be, the work on the dispaly stands was amazing, so intricate.
Its Monday.....again, and that means we have a new challenge another at Sketch N Stash, we have a lovely sketch for you by Vicky, and this weeks sponsers are  Meljens Designs and Simon Says, don't forget to tell us your old or new stash that you've used.

For my card I've used papers from Papermania.....Henbury Lane, the Pansy image has been coloured using H2O's and Sakura pens, the punch is from Martha Stewart, the sentiment has been alcohol inked for colour.

Its the weekend.....

Would you know it when you get a day off at the weekend not only does the weather change to grey and cold, they've also pinched an hour off you as well.......I don't know where the weeks go to as it seems in a blink of an eye its Sunday again, I seem to be joining in less and less challenges these days....I'm a bad blogger, mind you its getting busier at work again with the run up to Mothers day next Sunday.......we can all look forward to putting our feet up, having breakfast in bed, no housework for a whole day, being waited on hand and foot........as if, rofl, my son said he'd bring me a cuppa in bed as long as I didn't mind waiting till dinner time. Off to the NEC today to have a shop although I think the goodies I have my eye on aren't available yet, but hopefully I'll get on  a couple of workshops, I fancy having a go with Pergamano products and they will be there today so you can have a play. My Craft Stamper magazine arrived yesteday (where did that month go) and its packed with lots of ideas, I just wish they'd give you better step by step instructions as I was trying to follow one project and there seems to be a chunk missing.....and if you're fairly new at this its hard to follow, I'm going to have another read in case its my eyes.
                                                              have a great Sunday
                                                                 hugs and smiles
P.S wish me luck trying to get my daughter up in time to going to the show....lol

Morning all, thought I'd do an earlier post today as I'm probably going to be putting up fence panels later, just waiting for hubby to wake up as he was working last night......aghhh! I hate painting fences but I know its gotta be done, I'd much rather be playing with my twinkling h2os....lol. Which by the way is what I used to colour this wee stamp, I love this whimsical image.....Sweet Blossom I  did go overboard with the bling and flowers, the papers are from the Cottage Collection over at Cuddly Buddly and you can also get the digi stamps from there as well now. What a day........

Today I was at a class in Olney with the ever so taleneted Lin Brown, I so look forward to these classes.....my bit of me time, the weather was lovely when I got up although very frosty so I decided to go earlier than normal as there is a lovely courtyard cafe there that does a great cappucino, little did I know that I would be having a cappucino but instead of in Olney I had one at the services on the motorway at Northampton.....should have nipped in to see Annette, my exhaust had fallen off the car and I'd driven several miles with it dragging on the floor.....boy does it make a racket. So after I arrived at the services I phoned my hubby to tell him know I'd broken down.....so like a knight in shining armour he gets in his car to rescue me.......I'd only just finished my cappucino as he arrived, I just hope he doesn't get a speeding ticket as we live over 35 miles away from where I was stranded. Anyway he gives me the keys to his car and takes mine home so that I can continue with my journey and get to my class.........my hero, (and he had the exhaust mended for when I got home), every time I go to a class something happens, the previous time a stone flew up and cracked my window screen......the things we do for our art.

It was well worth it as the class was lovely and I had  a play with the new papers from Paper Artsy.....Thorndon Hall, as well as using the new distress stains, mind you if you see my fingers they certainly live up to their name as my fingers are purple and I'm off out toninght to my brother-in-laws 50th birthday bash......oh well I might start a new trend. The theme of the piece is Shabby Chic, I don't usually do purple projects apart from cards so I thought I'd go with a completely different colour scheme for me although I used Brushed Corduroy to add another dimension....doesn't show up so well in the photos. Also had a play with the new butterfly stamps from Tim Holtz. The buttons I alcohol inked to get them the same shades.

Oh well off to get ready soon for the party
have a great weekend
hugs from Daniele

Sketch N Stash........

Hiya all, well I didn't get any more fence painting done yesterday although the weather turned out better in the afternoon, instead we nipped to Nottingham (over an hour away) so that my son could check out the new Ninetendo 3DS that is coming out soon. I must be the only daft Mum who takes her son so that he can have a play on a new toy ....in all fairness I did have ago on all the games as well that they were demoing, and an hour or so later I had to stop playing so we could get some dinner, I'll have to wait now and borrow his console when it arrives.....I've got my eye on a couple of games.
Onto this weeks sketch for Sketch N Stash, its by the talented Sue. my new stash are: the papers and the flowers are my old stash.

Flutterby......

Morning fellow bloggers, I can't believe it after a half decent week I get a day off to do some fence painting and its grey and raining......I think I'll get this fence up about July at this rate, oh well theres only one thing to do, I'll nip upstairs to my craft room and do some painting of the kind that I love doing......lol. My sister picked up the card that I did for her hubbys birthday yesterday and she was thrilled with it so that made my day.(see previous post). So I'm sure Spring will arrive soon so todays card is one I did do at a class with Linda Elbourne, using B Line stamps and lots of yummy distress ink. I have a real problem getting the depth of colour that I want so mine all tend to turn out subtle, I'll have to start getting some of the colour washes that have just come out as they look alot easier to use for darker colouring. The background image was embossed in white and then distressed over and then using a sheet of paper irioned over to remove the embossed image....cool technique and very effective. the buterflies are images cut out and added afterwards, using stickles to highlight parts of the image.

Challenges
Colour Create.....greens, brown/cream and black.
Creative Inspiration.....white, beige and greens.
Just for fun....try a new technique (embossed background).
Stamp Something Friday.....cream and green.

Well its finally finished....the card for my sisters husbands birthday and its also the last compendium of curiosities challenge (see page 67), hosted by the ever so talented Linda......sniff sniff, what will we do on Mondays now ???? I just hope she has something up her sleeve as shes inspired us all to create following the instructions from The Book of Ink......Compendium Of Curiosities. I must admit that had it not been for Linda motivating and challenging us each week I probably wouldn't have opened the book to try all the different techniques......now that I have opened it and tried lots of amazing techniques I feel alot more confident in playing with various materials......so a big THANK YOU Linda for the challenges and your lovely inspirational comments......you rock hun. and another thank you to all the sponsers for their amazing generousity with the fab prizes up for grabs each week. I used Weathered wood, Chipped Sapphire, Broken China and Stormy Sky for the inky backgrounds and then glimmer misted using Twilight and Irr. Gold. the stamps are from various companies including Artsy crafts, Artistic Stamper,Crafty Individuals.....the bottom right corner panel is a photo of my brother in law on his Dads motor bike......so cute, better not let him hear me say that as he doesn't do cute. The metal clock was a freebie stamp from The Craft Stamper mag. I stamped onto the metal with Stazon and then puffed out the back for depth.

Spring......part 2

Evening fellow bloggers, I've neglected my blog just lately......I have got an excuse though, my sis came round on Monday and said she couldn't find a card for her hubbys 50th birthday and so she asked me to make a card......no pressure then !!!! so I've been working on that for the past couple of nights, I'm not the fastest worker so it would be no good me getting a job making cards for a living as I'd be on baked beans......a couple of tins a week I'd estimate. So I thought I'd share with you a Dt card that I made for Cuddly Buddly recently.......talking of which have you checked out the amazing prize up for grabs to celebrate British Summer time, over a £160 worth of goodies to one lucky winner......wow!!! There are quite a few Spring themed challenges this week so I thought this one would be appropriate. The butterfly is wood which I painted and then added Stardust stickles for the sparkle. The image is called Yummy Honey from the Eliza and Bro collection, the papers are from CB also ......Cottage collection. I used distress inks to colour the image.

Spring......

Spring must be around the corner as the suns out and the sky is blue. we got back from Disneyland Paris on sunday evening and had 4 days of beautiful blue sky......but it was brrrr. cold. We picked the wrong week to go as it was rammed, when we got back we found out that it was half term in France, Germany and Holland.....bad planning or what. Its very expensive there now so heres a tip if there are five or more in the family get a year pass......you can upgrade your tickets in the park, we brought a day ticket on the boat.....definately much cheaper than at the park, £48 on the boat, €68 euros at the gate. then we upgraded to a year pass on the first day which was cheaper to do than buy another day pass, now we can go again and again for another year and the parking is free (normally €15) and you also get 10% disc. on food and all the shops. Any excuse for another visit to see Mickey and friends. Ethan loved the boat going over but was not sure about some of the rides except .....you guessed it ....Its a Small world, every child favourite, sorry if you are now humming the tune all day, we did get to meet Mickey though again Ethan was unsure, but after queing he said he wanted to meet him again. He loved the Playhouse Disney show and Lilo and Stitch, where my poor son got picked on....was a laugh though, not sure if Richard will ever live it down.

Hugs for now

Nothing on the telly.......

Morning peeps well it is morning when I started to write this but it'll probabaly be evening when I post it......its a real inconvience having to go to work in the middle part...lol. Oh well I'm off from tomorrow until Sunday, going to Paris for a couple of days to take Ethan and his mum and dad to Disneyland, the weather forecast is sunny for the three days.........can't remember what that looked like so heres hoping that it comes out whilst we're there.
I've been published as well, at Artella, with the bottle top tutorial I did for JoAnne a little while back. Its an online arty/newsy magazine click here for more info.
Todays offering is a mess about that I did last night and its keeping the Paris theme I've been doing lately.....nothing on the telly and my mojo for card making was out the window so I started cutting up pics I've collected and made a collage effect on an envelope that contained a reciept from All Saints the clothing shop.......I love their industrial grunge windows that they do and they wrap their clothes in lovely grungy tissue paper as well as putting the reciept in a vintage looking envelope.....trouble is the clothes cost a fortune and they look grungy as well......lol, so I have to beg the  bits I want from other people. I thought this might fit the challenge at Simon Says stamp and show this week as the challenge is Ephemera.....I had to make do with pics instead or using the real thing hope thats ok guys.....The other challenge is for Lindas at Compendium of Curiosities......this week its collage fragments.
I know mine is kinda cheating as the collage spills past the fragment but I loved the look so I kept it....sorry Linda hope I'm forgiven......lol.The background stamps I used are by B Line......the tape measure and the houndstooth background.

hugs.
