2010.....

Thought I'd pick my favourites from this year as I'd forgotten most of the things I'd made, so it was quite a journey to see if my style had altered as well as my skills.......I've learnt alot in this past year, due to going to classes at LB Crafts with the talented Lin and attending various workshops at shows, I tried lots of different techniques and as yet not developed one particular style, my trouble is I love doing lots of styles so I tend to dabble in everything....one of my resolutions this year is to pick a couple of techniques and explore more indepth.......

First time I'd made background paper.

                                                                              July

I love the flowers on this card which were made using the freebie stamp from my favourite craft magazine....The Craft Stamper.

August

One of my favourite classes at LB Crafts

There were so many that I wanted to choose for this month but I decided on my favourite class project at LB Crafts....metal and paint techniques.

Just one of those days....

I think I should have stayed in bed today as its been one of those days when everything goes wrong, it started off ok, I picked Ethan up and managed to poke him in the eye, we then went shopping and when we opened up the boot to get the shopping out a bag fell over and half the groceries fell out and rolled down the drive into the road. Then when I was putting the shopping away I dropped a frozen chicken on my toes, whilst wrestling with a frozen turkey.......ouch, that really hurt and three toes bruised instantly, but I was brave and I limped around the local garden centre where I spilt my sons drink and then spilt vinegar over my dessert....yuk, my toes were throbbing so my hubby dropped me off at A&E to see if any of my toes were broken, the doctor burst out laughing when I told her what I'd done, but apparently they are just badly bruised however apparently I have broken them in the past and wasn't aware.......spooky.
So I think I'll stay at home tomorrow it might be safer, mind you I probably won't be able to get my shoes on anyway........oh well.

Compendium of Curiosities....

Well folks its over for another year, I've managed to get some crafting done today without falling asleep in the afternoon, when I get a holiday I usually spend the first 2 days snoozing, terrible really as I slept through most of Christmas, this afternoon I'm catching up on washing and ironing well I will be later after I finished playing Donkey Kong Country on the WII, I'm getting better at collecting bananas now.....lol.
Todays tag is following the challenge at Compendium of Curiosities......using re-inker. The colours I've used are bundled sage, victorian velvet and old paper and the re- inker was tea dye. The background came out quite dark so I went with a vintage male theme using stamps from Artemio, graphics 45 clock and man image. The suitacase is from B Line and the key is embossed with a bronze embossing powder and then aged using black.

Challenges
Compendium of Curiosities......Re-inker technique.
Tuesday Taggers.......Old father time (open to interpretation), the challenge this week is sponsered by The Craft Barn.

New Camera....

My son wanted a new camera for Christmas as he's into his 3D digital modelling and needs to take good photos for textures etc. so yesterday he was going around taking pics of everything including some of my cards I'd made .......and wow they look real good with this camera so I guess he'll have to photograph my work now for me as well as the colours and detail come out much better and I know I won't be allowed to play with it......
The card I've posted today is from a tag I made for the 12 tags of Christmas, but I've altered it and added an image from Crafty Individuals and also added a gold rub on holly border as I wanted this for my Mums Christmas card, the background paper is from Papermania.

The Day after....

What a lovely Christmas this year, the first white christmas I can remember for years and although it was extra busy in the shop for the last few days......all those guys getting their shopping at the last moment and then wanting them giftwrapped, it still wasn't as stressed as it's been in previous years.
Hope you recieved the gifts from Santa that you had asked for.......I certainly did, but I did get them for Santa this year so that he could wrap them up as I wasn't sure he'd know what a melt pot was.......lol, I was just trying to be helpful cos' he has so much to remember.I think I'll be having a quiet day today to get over my grandson tearing round the room at a rate of knots yesterady, it took him all day to open his presents as he needed to examine each one before opening another. He did come to visit us twice yesterday, first time in the morning to show us one of his toys he'd got and then for our christams buffet in the evening when the rest of the family came as well.......I love having everyone round even if my house looks like a bomb site the next morning, we didn't need to have party games this year as Ethan entertained us all.......he like putting things in his pocket so he took his tie off and tried to put that in his pocket.......bless, there he was pulling his trousers down to put it in and then he pulled his trousers back up......he had us all in stitches as it looked so funny just hope when he gets to 18 that he doesn't  pull his trousers down to put his wallet in his pocket......lol.
Hope you are all well and making the most of the rest, I've decided this year that I'm not even going sale shopping as so many shops are open today, even my boss wanted me to open ......but one day off doesn't make a christmas.Off to play with my presents now..........

Two more sleeps....

Evening fellow bloggers another busy day at work again, one more day to go and then I can put my feet up for a few days....yay. You can tell its nearly Christmas by the amount of men we get in the shop the last couple of days, and they always want gift wrap. Today we had a little trainee worker ....yes you guessed, it was Ethan he even had a trainee badge to wear, he loves scanning things at the till, and generally chatting to everyone, he thoroughly enjoyed himself.
I'd also like to wish everyone a Happy Christmas, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to visit my blog and leave comments, they're greatly appreciated, they encourage me to continue to craft and develop and learn more skills.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

Day Nine Tag.....

Morning peeps, todays tag is a couple of days tag ago.......last tag from Tim today so I 've got the rest of the week to catch up before Christmas, I've decided to make cards out of all my tags for my staff at work this year. As you can see I went a bit overboard with the gold bling..... which are all buttons, the main brass one I stamped a snowflake on with Stazon......quite please with the result as it was a bit fiddly. It was a real busy day again at work yesterday as I guess with only one Saturday to go everyone is starting to realise its not that far away including me. I'm going to Olney today as according to Lin from LB Crafts they have a Victorian Christmas day and I'm in need of some festive spirit and enteratinment with a splash of retail therapy thrown in should be a good day.

The Icings on the cake.....

Today sees the start of another challenge at Cuddly Buddly, there were some lovely entries for the last challenge, so for the next 2 weeks we want to see your frosty projects, and after all the frost we've had this week is seems an appropriate challenge. I used one of the Toby Tumble images and the free papers from the Cuddly Buddly freebie section, I've used Sakura pens to colour this image. The sentiment is also from CB and the large snowflake die is by Marianne dies, so to join in with this challenge click here. Day Eight Tag.....

Evening peeps I've up to day eight with the tags and for once I had one of the main ingredients.....the mask, I did have a bit of difficulty with this as I had a line running around the edge, so I used a red pen to colour the gap in, now don't laugh but I didn't have any house stamps so I improvised yet again and use beach huts instead....well I'm sure santa flies over the seaside so there are bound to be beach huts.....lol, I didn't have any metal corners so I embossed some.

Challenges
Fussy and Fancy.....anything but a card.
Something completly different........Christmas tag.
Alphabet challenge....G for glitter.

Todays tag is the day before yesterdays tag, just when I think I'm catching up along comes another one.......lol, I didn't have the canvas so I glimmer misted grunge board, at least I had the dies today which makes a change. Day Six Tag....

Evening peeps, wow what a spectacular day, the frost made everywhere looked magical .....picture post card material. I went out side and took some pics as I've never seen the frost look so thick although its been -6 for most of the day it hasn't felt so cold, probably getting used to it. Today is Tuesday and that can only mean one thing.......Ethan day, after breakfast he wanted some juice, so off he trots to the kitchen and I hear a voice saying "juice nana.....chop chop", I was in stitches, I guess I've got to jump to it now, little tinker.
Todays tag is yesterdays tag, again quite alot of improvisation.......I did have the tissue tape though.....yay, I cut out the snowman from grunge board as I don't have any of the dies also cut out the trees......well my version of the trees anyway, I added frost to them for a snowy look to go with the snowflake embossed background which i covered with rock candy stickles but it doesn't show up that well in the photo.

Day Five Tag....

Brrrr....I've just got back from work and I'm sure its been colder today than it was last week, we've had freezing fog as well. Well the trees up all I've got to do is wrap the pressies and buy another couple and then I'm ready for the big day. Todays tag was a bit of a disaster as the santa stamp I originally used did't look right so I used a Crafty Individuals one instead but had to stick it over the other one, I've really had to improvise on this tag, even the numbers are chipboard, but I did follow the technique. The poinsettia are made from gliimer mister card using the marianne dies. I've just seen todays tag so I guess I'll be improvising again.....oh well its the challenge thats fun, lovin' all the other tags out there in blog land.

Day Four Tag....

Wow another posting I've nearly caught up, I love this tag, got abit carried away with the alcohol inks as my fingers are pretty inked up even after cleaning them, the background paper to the tag is from Crafty Individuals as I don't have the TH one yet......and I inked up all of the trims as well, hence the inky fingers....right I'd better get a move on as I've got so much to do today, clean windows again, I hate it when the sun shines and shows up every mark and all the dust I try to ignore dust these days......lol but there it is begging to be cleaned, oh well the sun might go in in abit and then I won't notice it again...

Challenges
Sunday stamper......Christmas.
Crafty Pad.....anything goes.

Day three tag....

Phew I'm shattered it was busy at work yesterday and I've over slept this morning which I hate doing as you wake up fussy headed.......what am I talking about I'm always fussy headed I hear you say, so I was glad I managed to make my tag before I went to work, so yesterday morning at 7.00am I sat in my craft room making a start on yesterday tag for today......well I'm def. thinking outside the box on this one as well, as  its all Pink and girly, I used Victorian Velvet as the main colour but I did follow the tutorial for the die cut bird and flower so there is some similarity I suppose, I did enjoy doing this tag though, although I blinged it up with glimmer mist, you know me never happy till I've blinged, at least yesderdays tag that I'm making today to play catch up is blingy....yay.
Later we're putting up the Christmas trees, I didn't realise that its a week early for me to be putting them up, when I agreed to put it up this weekend with my son and hubby....ohh well, after all the snow I'm starting to feel festive, we had the light switch on last night in town, I think we've got a new light as I didn't notice it last year, my Grandson and his mum and dad came down for the switch on and being as we weren't busy I let him choose a bag of sweets and scan it in the till......I think I may live to regret that as he will probably want to play on my till again......lol

Top Tip Tuesday.....anything goes.

Day Two tag......

I know its day three but after being at work all day its hard to keep up so I'm always going to be lagging behind the rest of you, now I know we can think outside the box well I'm def. doing that as I couldn't do the technique due to no re-inkers so I did the next best thing and inked the stamp with a couple of colours to try and get a similar effect, and I then coloured in the petals, I do look forward to seeing how many techniques Tim manages to incorporate on a tag, I have started tag 3 .......well I've got some tissue tape, yay....so hopefuuly on day four I can post day three.....hope you're keeping up with all this rambling......think its brain freeze after another cold day at work and would you believe it my kettle broke, now all my staff know that I'm a tea addict so calamity reigned for half an hour untill I went and brought another kettle, as I'm typing this with one finger I'm drinking tea.....

Feelin' blue

Had my grandson on a sleepover last night, he usually manages to sleep in his own bed for half the night but then creeps in with me, well I have to fetch him as he'll wake everyone else up, this morning at 7.00am I had a little voice in my hear saying wake up Nana, and as you can guess thats all the sleep you're going to get as hes bouncing around and I'm shuffling half a sleep about, he did get my coat of my bed for me......by the way my coat is my dressing gown, thats what he calls it..........
All my Christmas cards seem to be blue this year and I don't know why as its not a colour scheme that I usually do, perhaps is all this snow we're having as I'm loving all things snowflakes at the moment, brrr.......
hope you are all keeping warm, we've still not had much of the white stuff just a sprinkling, so onto todays card, last weeks compendium of curiosities challenge was double distressing, and I just had to use TH stamp for the main image, colours used are Broken China and Chipped Sapphire, the snowflake dies are by Marianne.

WOYWW......

Brrr.....its so cold, but we've not had that much snow, drat we always miss out, when they show the forecast it seems to miss us out but down the road a couple of miles they've had several inches, so its Wednesday so that can only mean one thing its.......woyww, a trip to Julias will reveal a worldwide treasure trove of workdesks, on my desk there is a working progress of a card that I will be entering in the Compendium of Curiosities challenge when its finished but at the moment I'm having a.....my mojos taken a hike moment, not sure if its the cold and its brain freeze instead. The snow globe I made using an image from LOTV, the background was embossed with stars. Ethans taken a shine to it so I'm leaving it on my desk as he climbs on my chair to see what goodies he can get his hands on and to have a spin around on my chair which he thinks is great fun.
