Create and Craft......

Ohhhhhhh my cards were featured on Create and Craft today on the Polka Doodles section, kind of weird seeing your work on display and featured up close, I was really nervous about doing my cards as I didn't know whether they'd be good enough, in fact the one that was featured several times was the one I liked least.......so I thought I'd share it with you. The papers were printed on a pearlescent paper as I wanted a sheen to it, the image is also from the same Cd which is a new one called Pretty sweet. I made the faux buttons using the Die-namics button dies. The image was coloured with Prisma pencils and there is hardly any glitter.....must have been feeling ill at the time....lol

Thanks for taking a peek
Your comments mean a lot to me
hugs and best wishes for the weekend.

Polka Doodles

Morning peeps wow aren't we being spoilt .....Summers back, in fact its better than summer because at least it cools down at night so you get o sleep. Yesterday we went to Olney, took my Mum and Ethan and we sat ouside at the pretty Courtyard cafe sipping cappucinos and munching on burgers, yum yum, it is such a pretty little village and of course LB Crafts are there so I just popped in......well it would be rude not to, I brought mostly glue as they do the mini glossy accents and multi medium pots which are so handy and don't dry out before you've used it up.
Todays challenge at Polka Doodles is a card with an age on it, I didn't get around to making a sample card this week......slap my hands so I thought I'd show you the card that I've made for Ethans 3rd birthday on Sunday, as I've probably told you hes into Pirates in fact thats all he talks about, yesterday he pointed to the floor and said there was a cannon ball there (Pretend....vivid imigination) so I said to him to pick it up before I fell over it he replied "No as it was too heavy"...........now what am I supposed to say to that, I just burst out laughing. My sister has brought him a dress up Pirate outfit, hes going to love it. Anyway back to the card, I had a go at a stepper card using the Land Ho papers and image from Nitwits to build up the layers, I'm sure he'll love it, well I hope he does.

The teamies have done some awesome cards so go check out the rest and good luck.

Pearl......

Evening peeps hope you are all well, today is my 30th wedding anniversary so hubby has brought me a beautiful pair of pearl earrings, however we have had some bad news from my daughter, her blood tests have come back, it seems there is a 1 in 5 chance that the baby has Downs Syndrome so we are all upset, as she has now got to make her mind up to have further tests which she's been told could cause her to miscarry........I really feel for her and hope that things get sorted real quick for.Sorry no card today as I'm busy doing some Dt cards......soon to be revealed.

Evening peeps.......yay another weekend and its raining so no guilt crafting for me. Hope you have all had a lovely Saturday, must say I've felt a bit yuk today, probably after the long day we had yesterday, mind you it took rather longer to get to Oxford than we thought due to the 'sat nav' taking us via the scenic route ......3 hours to do a one and a half hour journey, we nearly ended up back at home. Polka Doodles......

Morning all, its Friday, one day till the weekend......again, speeds by at a rate of knots. I'm off to Oxford today for an area meeting, 2 hour journey there and back so its going to be a very long day, hopefully we'll get lots of chocolates to munch during the day to keep us going. We managed to get more gardening done yesterday despite Ethan moving the soil around to different parts of the garden, then using an obelisk frame as a basket ball net to put stones and lumps of earth through shouting he'd made a basket and slam dunk.....he had fun, we're just shattered. We all went out in the evening for a meal to celebrate my mums 82nd birthday, she still does all her own gardening, just hope I have the same amount of energy at her age......lol
This weeks challenge at Polka Doodles is called 'White out'.......so no colour allowed except for the ink of the image and you can use glitter......phew!!! thank goodness for glitter. I thought this might be quite a hard challenge but I enjoyed, using different white papers and embossing to create this card. I used a chandelier image from the Love&Cherish Cd at Polka Doodles as well as the backing paper. I also used an embossing folder from Cuttlebug called Damask.

Afternoon peeps I forgot to show these the other week, so better late than never as they say, these two cards are from a new collection called Little Iggies, simple style graphics but with a cute factor, these two cards were made from Little Iggies Ice Cream, not that its ice cream weather any more, just cold, although today its a bit more pleasant. The papers are from Cuddly Buddly also. The images were coloured with Promarkers and Prisma pencils.

couldn't resist adding glitter  to the coloured areas, went for a very simple colour scheme with just a splash of colour and very simple embellishments.

For my card I chose sketch no.42 and used one of the new Karen Middleton Christmas images at Cuddly Buddly called Angel Girl.I use glamour dust for the stars and to outline the cloud......well you know me I've got to have lots of glitter especially for a Pink Christmas Card..............lol.Don't forget to let us know your old/new stash, I used old papers and buttons and the image is new, just released,

steph@simonsaysstamp.com

we are again sponsered by the generous  Simon Says who are giving the winner $15 to spend in their store.

I created the lacey square by putting 4 of the corner dies by Marianne together and then placing my

Morning.......

Morning peeps, you can tell Christmas is fast approaching as we've got Strictly Come Dancing back on Saturday nights.......yay, I so love all the sequins and glitter, my favourite dance is the quick step. My parents used to be professional ballroom dancers and my dad even had a quick lesson on the train platform from Len Goodman when he came to judge at one of their competitions at their school of dance. Alas they never managed to turn us into dancers but it wasn't through the lack of trying.... my hubby is unteachable......talk about two left feet. So its feet up and watch it instead. Another favourite programme is Doctor Who so I had a great Saturday night watching my two fave programs whilst knitting another shawl for my new grandchild.......bliss.
Today I thought I'd show you a couple of cards I made for my Nephew and my daughters partner, he's a big Arsenal fan so I made one using the emblem which I layered but I couldn't resist adding a smidge of gold glitter......lol, the background paper is from A Polka Doodle Cd called Not for girls, although I'm sure there are lots of girls who love sporty cards, so its well worth a look.Kept the card very simple just added a sentiment.

My Nephew is a great golfing fan so I thought this image from Teddy Bo was perfect for him, now he had been complaining saying that this year was a nothing kind of birthday as he wasn't a teenager any more and his next birthday is his 21st. so I thought I'd add the number 4 on it for a giggle as I'm sure that this is a golfing term ......well I hoped it was. The papers are First Edition.....Hideaway, and the image and sky I coloured using Prisma Pencils. The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly.

Challenges

Polka Doodles......

Morning, hope you are all well and looking forward to the weekend, today sees the start of another challenge at Polka Doodles and this week the challenge is called 'setting the scene', I've used my new Garden Neighbour stamps to create this little scene.......these are soooo darn cute, I layered the roof and trees for added dimension, and I used Prismas to colour the image, the papers are from the Cd .....Sundae of Seasons, told you it would be my favourite as there are so many delish designs on it.The flowers are made using the stamps from The Daisy Doodles stamp set.......so love the name, and you get lots of mini designs including trees, flowers, owls, sentiments etc and are on offer at the moment. I've got a feeling I'm going to be doing some dressmaking this weekend as my daughters dress needs altering ready for her friends wedding in a few weeks time and she's 'maid of honour' I need to let out the seams and shorten the hem so I've got my work cut out for me, either that or finishing off the border in the garden ready for all the spring bulbs we brought yesterday at the garden centre, mind you when we got there they were putting in all the Christmas decorations......I think it spoils it as its far too early, so I guess we won't be visiting for a while now as I don't like a big build up to the day and I don't want to spoil the excitement for Ethan telling him there is still lots of weeks to go before Santa arrives. Saying all that though we have had our Christmas deliveries start at the shop and we are going to be doing advent calendars from next week for sale........I don't know!!!

Evening peeps, phew what a week, I've had my Mum staying with us whilst she has had a new heating system installed, its been quite hard work hence I haven't been able to blog as much so I'm making up for it by adding a second post today, I have been working on this card over the past three days snatching half an hour here and there. Its ages since I've made an easel card, so being as there are a couple of challenges this week for one  it seemed a great excuse to have a go.The papers are from Nitwits and I've printed them on a pearlescent paper which came out really well. My holiday/working in the garden is almost over.......and I didn't manage to get all my jobs done but at least over half the fence panels are painted, the lawn is down and I've only got 1 more border to weed and riddle ready for the spring bulbs to be planted, hopefully we.ll get that done over the next week.We had rain this morning so I didn't feel guilty going to a local Paper Craft show and I was quite good......well good for me anyway, although I have been on a bit of a spend earlier on in the week at Stampezee which is a local shop that is closing down, its a real shame as it was my local so to speak.
Thought Id share a card with you that has been sitting in my back up folder for a while, this image is called Milly's Bug Lantern and is by the artist Barbara Anne Williams at Cuddly Buddly as is the sentiment which is also from The Garden Vignette range and the papers. The image was coloured with distress inks.

Polka Doodles......

Morning peeps, I've been away for a couple of days to North Wales, my hubbys Brother and wife live in Barmouth and we've never got round to visiting them there, that is until Wednesday. Now I used to go to Wales an awful lot as a child, as my parents had a caravan there for many years and I seem to only ever remember the rain although the sun did shine from time to time. Well when we got there it was lovely and warm and we sat out in the garden looking over the wall to the beach and sea. I have never eaten sooooo much food Bara Brith, chicken stew, Lemon meringue pie and then a little while after that fish and chips, I had to pass on the pudding this time as we were totally stuffed good job we had a long walk on the beach later. We then watched Avatar on their new 10 foot screen ......yep that's right a 10 foot cine screen and projector, so guess who has been going on about getting one of these now......yes you guessed......hubby and son. We hadn't booked a hotel but after being introduced to Eric a very friendly hotelier he found us a room with a gorgeous view of the sea and beach, he looked after us so well and the next morning we had a full English breakfast and was totally stuffed again. After breakfast we drove to Porthmadog and went on The Ffestiniog Steam Railway......my son is a train addict, the weather was gorgeous again, in fact it was 30 degrees.......1st of September, amazin'.....oh well enough of my mini holiday on to todays card.
Todays challenge at Polka Doodles is 'Autumn Leaves', as soon as I found out for this challenge I just knew I wanted to make a wreathe, so I cut out quite a few leaves (which are from Sundae of Seasons CD) to create todays card and then added a smidge of glitter stickles to the edges for bling.

the papers and borders are also from the same CD,
the buttons I made using the Die-namics button die in the same background paper.

Top Tip.......Shabby Chic.

Reddy-Teddy-Go

Hi to all you Teddy lovers out there, its time for our second challenge at Ready-Teddy-Go.....Autumn Colours, not sure we had that much of a Summer, August was real let down weather wise and now Autumn is looming hopefully we'll get an Indian Summer as they call it.......its been gorgeous today, just as the children are back to school.
My card for the challenge features Teddy Bea and was one of the first images I brought, I have a confession with this one, I had to cut around the coloured image and mount it on a backing paper because my dear Grandson got the pens out and when I wasn't looking  added his own bit of colouring to it just catching the boot......that's why the flower had to go there......that'll teach me to let him play in my room of stash and turn my back for a nano second. The papers I've used are from First Edition called Summer Breeze......yep I know the challenge is called Autumn Colours but they seemed to fit.The sentiment is from Cuddly Buddly

Looking forward to visiting your amazing creations again this month.
