Christmas Decoration....

Evening peeps just got back from a gruelling day shopping at Birmingham......it was packed, but I just couldn't find anything inspirational to buy for Christmas, I think its disappointing now that so many of the shops don't even bother with any festive decorations, so todays post is my alternative to Christmas cards for my family this year, the images, paper and frame are all from Crafty Individuals, I dipped the sides of the images in vintage glitter which I brought in the Netherlands earlier on in the year, the beaded fringe I made with pearls and metallic bronze beads. Poinsettis flowers are made using the Marianne die and the scrolls that I painted in bronze are from Sizzix.I added metal gilding to parts of the frame for a smidge more bling.

Tuesday Taggers......A decoration.
PaperTake.......use die cuts or a punched out shape.
Everybody Art.......Use shapes.
Creative Inspiration.....red, green and gold.
Crafty Creations.....Christmas.

WOYWW.........

Yesterday we went to a local garden centre, I took Ethan, Richard and my mum we went to see the Christams decorations and to go for lunch, Ethan was in awe of a snow scene with furry dogs in snow, he kept going back to stroke one of the dogs tails he came back to us clutching a polar bear he'd found  so my Mum decided to buy it for him as he was not about to put it back, all the way home he was singing nursery rhymes to it and kissing it, now Ethan thinks his polar bear is a dog and keeps saying ruff ruff......so sweet.
If you didn't know it, its Wednesday today and that can only mean one thing.....its Woyww and so you need to pop over to Julias to take a peek at all the other work desks around the blogging world......on my desk today I'm working on a Christamas ornament which I think will be my alternative christmas cards to my family this year, the paint I'm using is lovely and is only £2.50 a tube from LB Crafts.....the metallic paints are really shiny and cover really well, as you can see I've just finished painting some flourishes for the top of the frame. I thought I'd also show you the finished wall panel I did last week with the talented Lin, I was thrilled to bits with it, I loved all of the little panels that we did especially the first one as we got ot use metallic flakes that I'd never used before.......another item on my wish list.

Distressing.....

Monday again.....gosh the weeks fly, guess its because we make every moment count if I'm not working, I'm usually having a crafting moment or catching up with a smidge of telly, so its off to work again soon, well in half an hour just time to post this card which is one I did in a class with Linda a couple of weeks ago, thought I'd be cheeky and enter it in Simon Says Stamp and Show as this week the challenge is distress inks, and being as that is all we used to create the card I thought it was apt...... I must admit doing a whole background is quite tiring on the arms especially building up the colours, but I'd not done cards using just inks to create backgrounds so I learnt alot. The stamps that we used are by B Line......gorgeous range of vintage stamps from L.B Crafts.

Have a good day

Compendium of Curiosities....

I seem to be getting later and later at entering these challenges, this weeks Compendium of Curiosities challenge is called Alcohol Ink Splatter, on page 52 so if you want to join in over to Lindas blog where all the details are as I'm sworn to secrecy about the technique. I'm getting into these inks now....I think, I'm certainly lovin' the effect when used on metal, so todays tag is using the softer shades....I've gone all pastel.....lol. The challenge at Tag Tuesday was to create a background with the minimum of embellishments , so I guess this fits the bill as well. Sunday Stamper this week has the theme of butterflies so pop over to Hels if you want to play, and apparently lots of butterflies together are called a Kaleidoscope of butterflies, so I guess the background for the tag fits in quite nicely. The butterfly stamp is from B Line, and the sentiment is a Paper Artsy Hot Picks stamp.

Crafty Individuals......

Morning peeps I think Christmas has begun as it was quite busy at work yesterday, people buying lots of chocolate, must get my stash of Cherries in Liqueur  ready for the big day as they are sooooo yummy, and we usually sell out early......todays card features a crafty Individuals stamp, The corners were made using a Marianne die, which I distressed with Weathered wood and Brushed Corduroy, I then glimmer misted with irr. gold, the papers are called Bella Blue and are a delish range of blues and browns which is not my usual colour choice but I love the vintage feel to them.

Challenges

Tuesday Taggers.......use the words either Peace, Love or Joy.
Gingersnap Creations......Stitching.
Theme Thursday.....Faces.
Colour create.....use shades of duck egg blue, seafoam and creams

Rainbow lady challenge.......use an edge punch or die

Christening card.....

Phew had a tiring but enjoyable day yesterday at Olney, it was the last class that I have booked this year and it was a metal art one which I was thrilled to bits with the finished piece but will have to wait until I have a day off to photograph it as its all metal and won't photograph so well with a flash. My sis. asked me to make a christening card for her, the name of the baby that is getting christened is Lily-Boo......how cute is that! So I decided to do an Easel card for her using the lovely stamp from Lili of the Valley, I used Sakura pens and distress inks to colour the image with star dust stickles for bling on the stitching and dress. The papers are from Papermania and the flowers are Wild Orchid craft roses.

Challenges

Charisma.......Baby.
Crafty Creations.....Decorate the inside of the card.

WOYWW......

Morning fellow woyww'ers another week and another Wednesday so its time to visit Julias, before you know it it'll be Christmas, the weeks just fly by,we've gone back to wind and rain is forecast today, we're sure getting a mixed bag of weather this week. Yesterday I took Ethan to Jam Jam Boomerang which is a soft play area with slides, he ran us all ragged, mind you I got to go down the big slide with him......not sure if I go for him or myself so I can be a big kid again, mind you squeezing through all the openings and ropes etc is kinda hard......think its time to loose weight. On my desk today is a card I made last night with delish papers called Bella Blue, I love the card thats in this months Craft Stamper magazine using these papers. The brown box with drawers in which contain my pearls and gem embellishments originally contained chocolates, the box is perfect for storing lots of bits n bobs the only problem is every time you open the drawers there is an aroma of chocolate.....hmmm yum yum. By the way I didn't eat all of the chocolates just to have the drawers it was a display box from work.

Have a good day

Scene..

Todays post is by my daughter, I had a few jobs planned on Sunday but she was fed up and decided to come round so I could show her how to do a distressed scene as a background, actually I'd not done one before so it was a kinda trial for both of us.......used Dusty Concord and Weathered wood, the deer was embossed in clear and the trees were embossed with a sprinkle of white, love the dinky snowflake stamp that I got from the nec......sooooooo sweet. I had to smile though she brought me the metal sentiments round as she didn't know how to attach them, after setting it with the cropodile she took them back home.....and helped herself to more bits n' pieces.....thats kids for you.

Sewing....

This is a tag I've made featuring sewing......this week at Gingersnaps the theme is Sewing Notions, the scissors I embossed in gold, they are chipboard from Maya Road. The minature sewing thread card is from the Craft Stamper magazine in their download section,I reduced the image down in size for a more minature look, the main image is from Cherry Pie stamps which I stamped onto distressed calico and then embossed in gold.....parts of the image came out in gold which gives it a more vintage look. The background of the tag is stamped using a tape measure stamp from B Line and a Tim Holtz stamp.

This weeks challenge at Compendium of Curiosities is Perfect Distress....turn to page 38 for the deets, at least we're not doing anything extreme this week, I think I may have to have another go at this as I was a little heavy handed with the spritzing....well you learn by your mistakes as they say....I have photographed the card  this evening, so the photo is not too good but  I didn't want to wait till Thursday when its my day off again. The stamp is one of my favourite Tim Holtz christmas stamps, I've sprinkled it with silver embossing powder, I used Old Paper, Chipped Saphire, Tea dye and Broken China distress inks.I used an image from Crafty Individuals for the bottle top, I covered the image with glossy accents and sprinkled silver glitter on the top before it dried.......

Kims mum Kath who is 73 worked a miracle transorming the stand with her daughter. Now I must admit I thought prbably like you I don't have any stamps to do with fireworks....but after scratching my head and using some printed sales material from  the shop I came up with this, I must admit my son did the sentiment for me as he wanted to show off cos hes a whizz on the computer and I'm definately not. If your're having  a bonfire party this weekend....play safe. the  background was embossed with a star folder and glitter added for bling.

winner....

Wow what a lovely email I had when I got home from work today......I had been picked as the winner in The Crafty Individuals hand bag mirror holder competition.......you had to use some Crafty Individuals products in the finished piece which wasn't that hard to do as they have so many lovely papers and images. I used Terra and viva metallic paints for the front, the inside was a collage of some of their images, the little flowers were made from the left over background images of the butterfly. The back of the holder was made using tissue stamped with a swirl stamp over a floral image, I then added gilding for highlights.

Challenges
Artistic Stamper......something hidden.
