I've been to Jam Jam Boomerang today with my son and grandson....its a soft play area for different ages, there were more adults playing on the large slide and play area today than children......including myself, well any excuse, I think it was grab a child and go and have fun launching yourself into the ball pool.......lol. So now I've calmed down and acting my age again I thought I'd post this card that I started making on Sunday, I painted the corrugated card with Eco acylic paints which are the best paints I've used, the metallics are lush, I then spritzed it using gold perfect pearls spray. The papers are called Ella Blue I created the border and then added the blue dotty paper on top, all of the images are from Crafty Individuals, I used blue perfect pearls to paint the wings, the background of the image was painted with distress inks......old paper. the sentiment and key lock were embossed using bronze embossing powder by Wow.

techno lesson.......

I'm feeling a smidge pleased with myself, the lovely Chrissie at Sketch and Stash has had a watermark made for us for our cards, my son has had to give me step by step instructions on how to put the watermark on my projects using gimp......so this is my first post using the watermark. I've written down step by step instructions to follow but of course things never work out as planned but I'm sure I'll get there in the end.
Todays tag is for the lovely Lindas challenge Compendium of Curiosities from Mr.Ts book.......coloured fragments, I have to confess I didn't have the pens for the technique so I had to use a brush, hope teacher lets me off and doesn't make me do lines......I must use a pen, I must use a pen......lol. A little bird.....

Its a chilly start to the morning....brr, I'd just started to defrost from the last spell of cold weather.Thought I'd share a card with you that I made at one of Linda Elbournes classes a couple of months back  at LB Crafts but had forgotten all about it.....shame on me. Now if you've never done a class with Linda be warned she's ever so slightly mad ..........but you're guaranteed to have a laugh.  The stamps we used are from B Line, I love this feather stamp that I used for the background, there are also 3 other sentiments on the stamp plate, the card has been distressed using various coloured inks and then flicking water on to the card to get those lovely watermarks, one of my fave techniques from Mr. TH.Simple but effective. The bird and cage were coloured with Prisma pencils........never used them before

Thank you for your kind comments
they're inspirational.
Happy crafting

Monochrome......

I finished this card yesterday, its one of my DT cards for Cuddly Buddly, thought I'd try something different with Toby this time and when I saw this image I knew I wanted to do it in sepia shades of browns, all of the colours are distress inks, I love colouring with these as you get lovely shades when you mix them. The sweet daisies are also available from CB, I've spritzed them in gold glimmer mist although it doesn't show up that well in the photo but they shimmer lovely. Compendium of Curiosities......

Evening peeps, phew more rain again today and more forecast tomorrow, oh well I think I'll have a craft day.....after the shopping, ironing, looking after Ethan, I'm sure I'll be able to squeeze in an hour or two if I'm really lucky. Todays tag is a romantic inspired Valentine tag featuring an image from Freubel-Art this image is in their freebie section, the technique is distress misting masks and the instructions can be found on page 60 of Tims book.....you know the one. We are all sworn to secrecy about the techniques as Linda would expel us from the school of distressing.
I did use Pumice and Victorian velvet and gold mist for my tag......lips now sealed....lol.

Bottle top......

Thought I'd share with you this simple idea of adding bling to a bottle top.I tend to do this to all of my bottle tops as I want them to be a little more than just an image stuck on.

Materials needed
Image(I've used Crafty Individuals), punch, glossy accents metal foil, glue stick.alchohol ink.

turn cap over and use the reverse side, fill the rim edge with glossy accents
and punch out an image that you want to use.

whilst the glossy accents is still wet put a couple of drops of alchohol ink
and let it seep around the edge.
This will dry to the bottom of the rim for an enameled look.

select the colour foil you want to use and apply glue in places around the image,
 use the glue sparingly
as you don't want to put to much foil on the image.

apply image to centre of cap using glossy accents and then apply
glossy accents to the top of the image
making sure you have covered the whole of the top.

the worst bit is waiting for the glossy accents to dry
takes an hour+, after its dried you can add foil to the rim of the bottle cap
using your glue stick the same as you did when adding foil to the image.

Hope you like my mini tutorial, this embellishment was used on the card in the previous post.

Journey.....

Haven't played with metal for a while so I thought I'd have a go and also JoAnne from Vintage Dragonfly had asked me to do a mini tutorial how to make the embelishment using the bottle cap....think shes putting it on her blog Tuesday. I used gold metal for the squished diamond panel and then used rust and pesto alchohol ink to add colour to the metal

The image of the car has been stamped with sepia nd the I used distress inks to add colour....the stamp is by Elusive images, and is from an A4 plate called Edwardian Men.After I had coloured the image I used distress crackle on the top for a more glazed effect. The word Journal is from Dark Room Door....Venetian collection which were the first set of stamps I brought.

The background was made by stamping the cog image from The Artistic Stamper then using clear embossing powder, I then distressed the background using tea dye and forest distress inks.

Rusty......

.......Well my brain is but its also the challenge at Lindas place....Compendium of Curiosities is Rusted grunge, now the technique is top secret but if you have the decode book turn to page 45 and follow the instructions......don't worry it won't self destruct after you have completed the mission.......sorry Linda.
I used tea dye distress powder and it actually worked, it does look rusty ....cool or what, sorry about the quality of the photos taken at night with flash. Image of train drivers is from Crafty Individuals as is the sentiment and the ticket stamped onto tissue paper, the background stamp is from The Artistic Stamper, I tried the scribble ink background again as its great for vintage backgrounds.

Bling it on.......

Got to take the decs down today...12th night, problem is doing it without Ethan seeing us as he's so in love with the tree, he says goodbye every time he leaves and rather than him see us take the tree down he's been told that the Christmas tree fairies take the tree down and bring it back ready for Christmas again, I'm sure he'll cotton on in a couple of years though. His mum did their tree a couple of days back with the same story........so shhhhh no telling him otherwise!!! So it seems only fitting that todays card is a Christmas card, still quite a few christmas challenges so I had a go producing an all white card.....with lots of bling.
